The sightings of different types of pokemon had been coming across Godfrey's desk thick and fast over the course of the last few days to the point where he had multiple pokemon to seek out and ensure that they were indeed as real as these reports were making them out to be. Of course with so many Godfrey knew he would be gone for a considerable amount of time and there were his Snorlax to consider, well that wouldn't be too hard given all he would need to do was enough food in the house to ensure the large pokemon would remain here and not go anywhere while he were away.
After many days spent out in the wilds and visiting all the areas that each respective pokemon were to be heard or had a chance of living within and a considerably amount of investigation in each of these areas would in time Godfrey manage to confirm the presence of each of these pokemon in their respective natural habitats.

--- --- --- --- Happiness In Grassy/Icy Location --> Ice/Grass Stone Electric/Grass OR Electric/Ice Pichu/ Pikachu/ Raichu Description of coloring/sighting ~ Not needed, got the sprites Reason for appearance ~ Ever a popular and well known pokemon, pikachu was common to shula for the longest time and thus, its family line was as well. Add in the ability to look cute with trainers and yet stun and hunt food well in the wild and very quickly, these pokemon all but slipped in to the region with no issue and all the ease in the world.
However, they very quickly started to adapt. Small pockets of the pokemon eating leaves and using them as camouflage began to appear in meadows and forests and slowly, they began to find their coats took on moss and algae in wetter places, becoming green. However, every year, as these areas drew colder and the vegetation began to fade, the pokemon were no where to be seen.
At the same time, in the cold plains and deep snow, small pokemon with long but strong tails began to appear. They could dig out the tunnels of pokemon they wanted to hunt and no matter how cold it got, they never seemed to have issue.
As the years went on, it appeared over several generations that these two types of pokemon were in fact one and the same. In fact, it wasn't until they began to pair with trainers that something huge was found out, the "seasonchus" were able to change in to the other seasonal form. When one of the pokemon was taught the move "Hail" or "Sunny Day", it would change form in to the other form of the pokemon and stay within this form until the other move was used or the season changed in to the next. This only occurred in Summer and winter, making the Pokemon take their natural form for 2 season of the year unless they chose to change it.
In this day and age, its common to see "seasonchus" in either form though they need a trainer or a way to learn the move they want to use to change their form and thus their type but they are one of the more common of the Shulian pokemon seeing as Pikachu are popular all over the world and thus, popular to in their other regional forms too. |

On Godfrey’s desk were some pictures of the sightings of Pokemon that changed their appearance based around the different locations which seemed to be similar to the Deerling species as they changed around the season. He would set out to every location that was noted to be grassy or icy and in the wilderness, these new Pokemon were spotted having their appearance change during the spring and winter seasons. Such discoveries left Godfrey shaking in his boots as he continued to investigate this phenomenon!
After spending more time in these icy and grassy environments going under more investigations for the new species, Godfrey confirmed that these two Pokemon live in their two habitats.

Stantler Ice/PsychicDescription of coloring/sighting ~ Not needed, shown above. Fur grows longer or shorter depending on climate and antlers are smaller on females. Reason for appearance ~ Always a pokemon known to be smart and to use their antlers to keep themselves safe, when they arrived in Shula they very quickly took to the mountains, valleys and during the summer, the plains. These pokemon were brought to Shula after their extensive hunting, a few local herbs becoming a very large one before being released to re-populate the wilds of the region before being shipped to other regions as well. Within a few years, it became apparent that the natural ability the pokemon had within their antlers was paying them off well and they were doing very well in the region. It was a few years longer before the pokemon started to head in to higher places, looking for protection against the larger hunters of the plains but moving in to the mountains and hilltops came with their own issues. Harsh and quick changing weather became the enemy of the species and it took a good few generations before they began to learn the signs, using this "watching" even against predators which might try to ambush them or hunt them. It was years later when the mountains began to grow cooler in winter and warmer in summer that they were seen again in larger numbers down on the lowlands and plains, the pokemon in different fur with longer and sharper antlers and a second sense for danger around them. It seems their time in the higher areas of the region has lead them to adapt to not only their hunters but the weather too, the pokemon quite different to those native to other regions now. |

Now it had been quite a long time since Godfrey had received one of these reports from a member of the general public but as he were to read through it all now like all the prior ones it would peak his interest to the point where he would be unable to wait any longer to head out into the wilds in order to make genuine efforts to seek out these elusive beings. Of course the main issue would be the seemingly minor detail of being away for a considerable length of time so preparations for his Snorlax so that he would not need to worry about his large companion during his time away, with that set in place would Godfrey set himself upon the path to confirming whatnhad been brought to him.
After a significant amount of time spent out in the wilds exploring all the area's mentioned in the report and making efforts to track these beings - often getting lost or misdirected in the process - would Godfrey manage to locate the occasional sighting of these particular Stantler and confirm such rumours as the truth that they actually were in the habitats that they were prone to linger within depending upon the time of year.

Using Mirabelle's offer from advertising - I appologize to spriters now gave some examples and long description as I can't draw shiiiiit! Tauros Grass/ FairyDescription of coloring/sighting The Shulian Tauros is found primarily around the area of Giya Swamp and the surrounding town: and it has adapted to the strange marshy landscape by embracing the greenery and murky atmosphere. It is unbothered by the fog that permeates the area by learning to travel the swampy terrain through extrasensory abilities - completely losing it's sight and relying on tactile senses such as touch. As it does not need it's eyes to see, the fur on it's face has grown incredibly long, falling over the front of it's broad face and hiding the useless appendages. Indeed, the fur along it's entire body has grown at an exponential rate - naturally colored a muddy-brown and coated in layers upon layers of mud and moss - giving it a very earthen appearance and an almost dread-locked feel to it's thick fur. This fur protects it from the cold and injury that might be caused by poisonous bites from predators in the area - indeed, their hide is rumored near impenitrible given the amount of debris that gets tangled in it's locks. Due to this safety feature, it is rather passive - particularly when compared to it's non-Shulian Counterpart: having a generally laid back and sweet attitude. Of course, it could be that it is wholly unbothered by predators due to the massive horns that grow out the side of it's head - two feet long lengthwise and about three feet forward-facing. So unbothered by predators is this naturalized bovine pokemon that they usually allow their horns to be used as perches for small bird pokemon - usually allowing them to feast upon smaller bugs and gnats that become entangled in their fur. While considered docile, they can be a danger to travellers given that their lowing calls have an almost hypnotic feel to them - some saying that they will use this to call travellers deeper into the swamp towards them, ending in their becoming hopeless lost in the muck and mire. For Real World comparisons, the Shulian Tauros takes homage from the Highland Bull for it's more generalize appearance (long hair and horns, etc) and the Sloth for it's mossy green coloring and growing plant-life. The mossy look would be similar to spanish moss.Reason for appearance It is rumored that many years ago, while Quagmire town was more of a bustling farm metropolis than the sunken city it seems to be today, that many famers imported Tauros to be used in grazing and breeding programs. However, over years of pounding hooves and overgrazing, the ground turned steadily swampier until groundwater and flooding caused the area to turn into the mire it is today. The tauros herds often would find faults in their fencing and break free - and after this began to become a constant loss for farmers, many less cautious farmers became disinterested in reclaiming their herds. The Tauros, seeking to fight amidst one another, would often spark fights and losers or more docile Tauros would be driven farther into the swamp. The winners, natural troublemakers, were often either reclaimed and shipped elsewhere or sadly hunted down. However, those more docile folk found a taste for the odd marshland vegetation, and over many years of inbreeding developed coping skills and a generalized mellower temperament. As the visibility in the area dimmed, due to their increased presence deep in the swampland, the necessity for sight diminished as well, and they developed more strongly nature-focused powers, as well as an increased in whatever psychic abilities the breed originally had - although now with a decidedly more naturalistic edge. |

Godfrey was far from enthusiastic about the journey he would have to take into Giya Swamp after the taxing investigation he'd had to undergo previously, but he knew it must be done. Besides, from what the report he'd received said, these Pokemon seemed to be very peaceful, so it couldn't be that bad, right? Once he'd prepared himself for the expedition into the swamp he left Snorlax in charge of the stall and set off. After a good long while of waiting with nothing heard back from Godfrey, he finally returned in a strange sort of daze with confirmation of the existence of a herd of Shulian Tauros in Giya Swamp. He then proceeded to go home and fall directly into bed for the most comfortable nap of his life.

Miltank Grass/FairyDescription of coloring/sighting ~ Like it's male Tauros 'counterpart', this Miltank has adapted to life in the Giya swamps rather than in the open pastures of it's usual spots. She still moves largely upright, but much of her weight has been lost or covered up - leaving her with a muscular body still, but one slightly less fatty than those bred for milking purposes. Moss has draped itself around their female form like a cloak of sorts - spotted with flowers that generally have a sophorific or healing effect. Many wanderers who have come across this Miltank cross-breed will often think they saw her in a dream, or that she was a wispy shadow rather than a solid form. Not to mention the more 'human'-shaped form (though still definitively bovine) does occasionally give to myths of actually being a Gijinka rather than a full Pokemon. Given her flowery cloak, and long mossy head-fur that is more hair-like (similar to the ruff of the male tauros species) some could confuse her for a wandering person - leading her to a nickname of 'moss maiden'. Upon coming close, however, one might notice that she has a tufted tail peeking out from the hem of her 'skirts', as well as cloven hooves rather than feet. Her hands, too, are hooved - although these support a third smaller 'trotter', more piglike that cow - to allow them to pluck things from the ground. Upon turning around, one would see immediate that this was a pokemon - as her stubby snouted face is nothing human, nor her large liquidy eyes and soft, velvety ears that droop down. Small horns - mere stumps, really - appear to me made out of twisted vine rather than horn. Much more social than their male counterparts, they tend to surround one particular tauros male as a sort of breeding harem. Given to their whimsy, they are want either aid lost travellers - particularly other women and children - by helping them to find nourishment or leading them out of danger, or luring male travellers deeper into the muck and mire until they are hopelessly lost, which they find hilarious. Unlike their mostly blind male counter parts, these bovines have large, dark eyes set above a flat muzzle that seem to shine with an unearthly light. Speaking of mythological sense, these pokemon are inspired by Scandanavian myths of the Huldra and the Greek Dryad. While in myth, a lot of the time they are temptress, silly figures - they are also incredibly naive some of the time, and can be helpers. They are also, stereotypically, a lot more 'chunky' - so the idea in my head of a slightly curvier co Reason for appearance ~ It is rumored that many years ago, while Quagmire town was more of a bustling farm metropolis than the sunken city it seems to be today, that many famers imported Tauros to be used in grazing and breeding programs. / / / Spring / Summer / Autumn / Winter Luvdisc Water/GrassDescription of coloring/sighting ~ ^^ Reason for appearance ~ Luvdisc always did very well in shula, largely down to the huge amounts of water, the different types of water based habitats and the large coral reefs even off the shore and out in to the sea around the islands. However, it was more inland these pokemon came to be, people theorizing that when the pokemon were in small rivers, the odd stream, a little brook or a local pond, their bright colors made it very easy for bird pokemon and fisherman alike to target them. There was actually a point where their numbers went down quite a lot and so, many small ponds, muddy pools and other habitats were protected for about 50 years and it appears in this time, the pokemon took their chances. Pokemon with bright green leaf-like scales began to appear outside of the protected areas, harder to spot but when they were seen, alike to that of the famous fish. In time, it became apparent that the fish had come to use the seasons and the leaves which fell around its home and plants which grew there to work in its favor. The pokemon seemed to shed it leaf like scales every season, turning to the color of the leaves falling around it and some trainers even swear that the luvdisc from their area have small fins, rounded dorsal fins or longer tails, though there is little proof of this currently as the fish have only really begun to be noticed as their own separate form. |

After his previous excursion into Giya Swamp, Godfrey was more than prepared to venture in again in search of the next strange Pokemon. He even knew the general area where to search- then, of course, afterward he was off to investigate various other bodies of water for his second report. Either way, it looked as if he'd be out for quite a while in order to find the rare variants. As such, he prepared his Snorlax to man the booth while he was gone, then set off. After many days spent out in the wild exploring various islands and various bodies of water (for a little while, focusing on the swamp), Godfrey was able to confirm the presence of both the Miltank and the Luvdisc in their respective habitats.

the newest report of another sighting of a new pokemon that had made it's appearance within one of the local forest's within shula would gain Godfrey's attention so much that he would ensure that his ever faithful SNorlax had plentiful supplies before heading off in his search. It would take a fair amount of time while out in the leafy Lagoon area to await a suitably starry night to observe and confirm the sighting of the Ms Rime in their preferred habitat.

*bright's got the sprites*
Leaf Stone to evolve
Fire/Grass
Vulpix/Ninetales Description of coloring/sighting ~ Not needed, got the sprites Reason for appearance ~ Vulpix has always been a popular pokemon and thus, they have always been common in Shula. With a lot of warm places and a jungle in the region, it didnt take long for the wild population of the pokemon to begin to settle in small family groups around the area. Over time, the warmth of the area and the endless supplies of food, the pokemon soon found that those of their species with a darker coat had an easier time hunting.
Over time, their hides became darker in color and it soon became apparent that the more time they spent within the greenry, the plants began to grow over the vulpines. By the time it became clear that there were now 2 types of the pokemon, trainers began to seek out the new pokemon and it became clear that there were very VERY few of their evolved counterparts.
It took a trainer managing to befreind one of these pokemon for it to be discovered that the pokemon actually needed a leaf stone to evolve, this a large issue as the stones are very hard to find in the Jungle and so many of the vulpix are simply unable to ever evolve. With this being discovered however, the pokemon were now well known and it became rather popular for those in the jungle to leave it and travel to find themself a leaf stone, or trainer, and then often return to the jungle to settle.
Based on how male's of their species are very territorial and the females keep their young close until they come of age, it became rather common to see the teenage vulpix travelling around the edges of the jungle or even further out and they have been spotted on other islands, though its still VERY rare to see a ninetales, even inside the jungle itself.

Godfrey was excited about tracking down this sighting- after all, though the search would definitely be long and difficult, it was worth it to be able to see such rare Pokemon! After a long time of searching through the Stillwood Jungle, Godfrey was able to confirm the sightings of both the Vulpix and Ninetales in their natural habitat.

--> --> Purrloin --> Ice stone --> Liepard Ice/DarkDescription of coloring/sighting ~ Not needed, shown above. Credit to bright Reason for appearance ~ The story of the snow leipard is a very simple one actually, the long and short of it being people in the colder towns in Shula being very much a fan of cute and cuddly pokemon and so taking them with them to the colder climates. The issue is where pokemon and people gather, darker pokemon gather too. Purrloin are well known for being sneaky and cunning pokemon and where furfrou and skitty were coming together to be groomed and dressed in cute and colorful clothes, these pokemon began to flock to take said items, any free food they could and everything not nailed down. It became common for these pokemon to be seen in and out of the alleyways and such but their dark coat made them far too easy to see against the white snow giving them a large disadvantage, however the joke soon came that their numbers were dropping but their crimes were increasing. Of course this was not true, in fact the pokemon were slowly beginning to adapt and their coats became speckled and lighter to hide against the snow and frost. After a series of decades the pokemon were doing so well that they began to branch out, the color of their coat making them very successful almost every where within the region in the snowy and cold months and while it didnt work so well with them in summer or spring, they became popular. A pokemon that was known for being cunning which now had the thicker coat and hardier constitution was something many sought out, most of these pokemon more than happy to find a human to train them and they have actually become known for seeking out trainers for their young or once they reach a certain age due to the fact it works very well for their survival. It is not uncommon to find these pokemon lurking in colder or darker areas of the region, though if they will battle you to take your items and food or to join your team is often an even toss up. |

This was going to be a difficult one, for sure. It was already very cold out, so Godfrey could only imagine how cold it would be in the high mountainous areas these rare Pokemon called home. Still, it couldn't be so bad! Leaving his Snorlax in charge of things, Godfrey set out on his expedition.
After a good while of searching the snowier areas, pretending to have his guard down, and actually being stolen from, Godfrey finally confirmed the presence of both the Purrloin and Liepard in their natural (?) habitats.

Important Info
Season
Good news, Autumn is here! The sticky heat of the summer is finally gone, but the bad news? Its gotten very cold very fast. Berrys have fallen early from their perches, fruit and food is getting caught in snap frosts and icy mornings and this is leading to very cold mornings, pokemon getting desprate quickly and dark and chilly evenings
Next season change ~ May 20th
Swarming Pokemon!
Encouraged Characters
Currently, our character numbers are pretty even, so aside from us gently encouraging more civilians and breeders...go nuts!
Numbers of Gijinka on site have dropped, too, so they're open to be applied for at the moment- though, if you're interested, go check out the adoptable threads for many wanted ones! They could always use players! ;-)
