One simple fact of life was that everyone had their limits. Though it pained her to admit it, Clover knew she had to switch up her routine. Up to that point, she'd been content with locking herself in her room all day playing games on her PC. Did she enjoy it? Absolutely. But it wasn't quite as fun when she started having to deal with eye strain and onset carpal tunnel.
Whether she liked it or not, she needed to occupy herself in a way that didn't require too much dexterity. Once watching TV stopped interesting her, she decided to step out for a bit. Surely, something out in Mossrock would prove to be an effective time waster. Of course, Mossrock itself had plenty going on within it, but there was only so much that could grab Clover's attention, and only so much she could see herself partaking in with a numb hand. It wasn't until she started thinking about what could be found outside of the city that the gears in her head really started to turn.
Clover was never one for the outdoors. It was a big place, full of danger, and with internet access that could be considered spotty at best. Still, a place like Mossrock Forest had its charms. It had natural beauty, fresh air, and if you were lucky, you could find some cool stuff to take home with you. That was certainly enticing, and with it being so popular with trainers, how could she go wrong?
Well, for the time being, she wasn't quite exactly enthralled. She had just started her trek into the forest itself, and couldn't see much on the trail besides the trees and foliage. Perhaps it got more interesting further in? Hopefully. Otherwise, she could probably just go off the path to find something more enticing.

Mossrock Forest seemed to always be lively. The sounds of bird chirping in the canopy up above. Bug pokemon seeming to chitter along with their own sounds. A flapping of wings somewhere as leaves shake a little bit more than the rest as the nice spring breeze starts to set in; an abundance of plant life seeming to have grown through the melted snow that's long since been gone. Only, as a person walks along a trail that's been well travelled revealing the dirt beneath, the sounds seem to pause to hide away from the human travelling through here. Different pokemon scattering away into their homes to wait as the person passes; the sound of wings flapping away briefly. Almost a sudden fear settling in to the skittish pokemon of the forest.
Nothing seems to be exciting; despite what the trainer was looking for, the path ahead seemed to be more of the same. A tree shakes with the soft breeze; leaves moving out of the way to show a creek flowing down off the well worn path. The noisiness seems to come back louder as the sound of water sets in, but also a loud cry; a shrilly sound echoing along the leaves. The sound of cracking branches in the distance; almost as if something was breaking quickly. The sound of wings beating as the air seems to move quicker coming from up the creek off the path. A dangerous crash of wood sounds for a second; almost daring whoever is around to come and see what the commotion is.

Ursaring Whatever Pokemon that were inhabiting the forest didn't seem to have much interest in showing themselves to Clover. A bit odd, but she supposed that gave her some time for her to assess her surroundings a bit better. It was a fairly tranquil environment, all things considered, which Clover could only suppose was to be expected. It wasn't like she was expecting to be jumped by the wildlife as soon as she walked onto the forest trail. She walked across the trail for a moment, looking to see if anything of note was within her field of view. Soon enough, as the breeze rolled in, she managed to spot a creek just a short distance away from where she was, just past one of the countless trees surrounding the trail. Craning her neck out of curiosity, she tried to get a somewhat better view of the thing. Sure, something as simple as a creek might not have the most mind-blowing thing she could've found, but she could at least see herself making a sketch of it for fun...that is, if her drawing hand wasn't uncomfortably numb. After a short few seconds, she figured trying to get a better view of it from where she was was probably a waste of time. Right as she was starting to look away from it, though, she heard something coming from the direction of the creek that caught her off guard. A cry, some breaking and cracking, then what sounded like some sort of hard impact. What the hell was that? Clover wasn't sure, but she figured she'd have to rush over there if she wanted to find out for herself.

Gender - Male / Ability - Guts / Level - 13 / Moves - Growl, Peck, Focus Energy, Quick Attack, Wing Attack, Rage The loud crash echoes for a moment; branches having fallen around a single larger tree than most. The creek having lead to this more open party of the forest where this large tree resided; now with a missing branch as the creek's water becomes blocked by a large branch that's been knocked down. Water moving around the branch, making the creek larger than it was before. The sight is a strange one, the sound of wings flapping around as Clover could see something up above.
Above the first row of branches, Taillow angrily flaps his wings. The loud slam having left broken branches in his wake. There's no telling where his victim went, but he's got the right place for certain. X marks the spot on the trunk of the tree. He swoops down once more, slamming his wings into another branch sending twigs clattering to the forest floor. His screech comes out in a heavy, brutal tone. <"C'mon out, pardner! I just want to talk now!" Another angry swooping of his wings to leaves, he moves quickly as another crash sounds of branches hitting other branches. <"Pardner, you're making this worse for yerself!" The Taillow flutters down a bit more, only just realizing he's not alone now. The human on the forest floor makes him screech loudly.
<"Oh! So you've got yourself a little friend, pardner! Let's see if you'll come out for 'em!" Taillow angrily screeches before speeding towards the ground. Wings pulled in letting the air swirl around the bird before he pulls up at the last second, sending dirt and the broken twigs fluttering about. In front of the human now, Taillow angrily screeches a single warning out. <"You've got five seconds before I rip this human apart!"

Ursaring As Clover rushed over to the creek itself and towards whatever was going on, things started to slowly but surely fall into place for her. She saw in front of her a decently large tree which, on its own, wouldn't be all too strange outside of its odd size. However, what was happening with the tree itself was rather alarming. From what she could tell, a Taillow was actually attacking the tree, making harsh vocalizations as it addressed...someone or something. The tree, maybe? Well, in any case, that was something she hadn't really expected. She'd thought that maybe whatever made that crashing was in some sort of danger, but it didn't look like that was the case. If anything, it looked like that Taillow was the danger. Frankly, Clover wasn't really sure what to do. Whatever was going on seemed exciting, at least, but what was she supposed to do in order to involve herself in it? As it would turn out, she didn't have to do much herself in order to get involved. The Taillow noticed her and, soon enough, it was on the ground in front of her, making threats that Clover didn't really understand. Was she in danger? Because it sure seemed like it, which was more than a little concerning. She wanted to find something interesting during her trip to the woods, not get herself in danger! She knew she'd have to make her thoughts known before the Taillow did anything too drastic. " Alright, wait a tick. I dunno what you're doing 'ere, but if you're gonna squawk all aggressive-like at me, you're gonna have to do it through my pal Cynder." With that, she sent out the Charmander in question, who quickly stood at attention between her and the rather aggressive bird Pokemon. Hopefully, she'd be able to glean just what was going on from the thing. Not to mention, if the Taillow was going to try anything, it just seemed like a safe bet to have it have to go through Cynder first.

Gender - Male / Ability - Guts / Level - 13 / Moves - Growl, Peck, Focus Energy, Quick Attack, Wing Attack, Rage None of this was how it was meant to go. Taillow had been making progress. He needed to get on top of this problem; his victim was clearly hiding in this tree. There was no doubt about it. Angrily, he flutters his wings sending small gusts of air forward as he stares down the human. The human talks about a pal, but frankly he didn't care what the human thought. He couldn't let his victim get away. <"Pardner, I wouldn't go around threatening me! So you're one of those pardners who keeps some fellas with 'em."> Angrily, Taillow squawks towards the human and pokemon. The fire type seems to block his path, but he's not scared of some fire pokemon.
<"The longer this takes, the worse it'll be for 'em"> He squawks loud enough for his victim hiding away in the giant tree. There's a pause as the Taillow seems to wait for some sort of response, but none comes. He angrily squawks again at the human and their fire pokemon. <"Sorry pardner, you're little pal isn't coming out of there easily. Convince them to stop hiding and I won't have to rip ya apart!"> Taillow flutters his feathers in a threatening way, but doesn't move.
From up on the tree, the sound of leaves falling echoes, but there's nothing except the wind. The wreckage of twigs and leaves having been ripped up by Taillow linger; scatterings of scratch marks and pointed strikes show on the tree. The results of a past battle having been left behind on the tree. A simple x mark on the very top of the trunk, barely showing due to the foliage knocked down. Taillow puffs his chest once more. <"Last chance!">

Ursaring Cynder's presence wasn't really doing much to dissuade the wild Taillow to stop acting aggressively, unfortunately. If anything, the Taillow was simply unhappy with Clover's decision to bring her out. Clearly, this thing was a bit too ornery for a simple show of force to be effective. It was still squawking away, just as it had been before. In fact, from Cynder's perspective, it looked as though there was a big misunderstanding. Something about someone in hiding that she didn't know anything about. " I don't know what you're talking about," she piped up, " but I don't want to hear you threatening anyone, okay?" Cynder looked back at Clover, trying her best to convey that the Taillow was confused, which Clover could definitely see being the case, considering how oddly the thing was acting. In fact, the fact that it seemingly wanted them to help it perturbed her, since that meant that what it was doing was nothing short of coercion. She, for one, didn't like that at all. As the Taillow puffed out its chance and let out another threatening squawk, Clover made a rather knee-jerk decision. She decided that if the thing was going to act so aggressively towards them, the best thing they could do would be to beat it to the punch. " Alright, Cynder," Clover said, " there's no easy way outta this one. Bite this sod's 'ead off!" Well, if that was what Clover wanted, Cynder wasn't going to refuse. Cynder growled at the aggressive Flying-type before rushing forward and bringing her fangs down on it. With any luck, the Taillow wouldn't be able to threaten the two of them for much longer. Cynder used Growl and Bite (60BP, 30 or under flinches)!

The avian buffed out his chest, clearly waiting for a response from whatever it was taking about hidden in the tre. Much like before, there was no response to his cries and only the sound of the wind could be heard. The taillow huffed, giving a side glance to where he knows where they are. What a coward, can’t even face him. <“Alright pardner,”> the avian squawked in mild disappointment, <“Looks like your friend here will pay the price for your-"> His gaze fell upon the human and the fire type pal, only for the fire type to cast him a mean GROWL and come charging at him with the intend to BITE.
The tallows wings fluttered frantically, trying to gain altitude and distance from the sudden attack. However, he was quick enough. The charmander came in close, teeth managing to champing down on one of his talons. The wild pokemon let out a loud screech, wings flapped dramatically in an attempt to get away. <“Let go,”> he spat in a GROWL, feeling not only the teeth sink into his leg but the join holding it being pulled, <“I said LET GO.”>
In that moment, the avian’s dramatic pulling away from the foe suddenly changed. His tiny beak took on a silver tinted glow, enlarging slightly and possibly pointer. He thrusted his body forward, aiming to PECK the darn fire types eyes out if it doesn’t let go of his talon. After all, it felt like he was about to lose one of his talons!

Arcanine It looked like Clover's decision to attack first was the right call after all. It wasn't like the aggressive Taillow was changing its tune any time soon, and in doing so, Cynder managed to get a pretty good hit in. She might not have been aiming for the little guy's talons initially, but it looked to be a good area to attack, and Cynder couldn't help but be a little proud of herself for hitting such a fast target. Said target wasn't out of it, yet, though. The Taillow got very aggressive in telling her to let go, which put her off enough to decide to release her grip. Hopefully, she reasoned, doing so would let the guy put some distance between the two of them...but that wasn't what happened. Instead, the Taillow turned around and started trying to peck at her eyes. She managed to shield her eyes, at the very least, but those hits still hurt! " Stop it!" she Growled, doing her best to bat the Flying-type away before striding away, letting loose a small fireball as she went. Growl and Peck hit!

The seer agony from the charmanders tiny teeth digging into his fragile little talons was enough to caused the wild avian to screech in pain, wings fluttered feverishly to in attempt to get away. Of course, the taillow pulling away only made it worse. So instead, the creature went on the offensive. His beak took on the glow of peck, the wild pokemon attacking the fire type whether it let go or not. And as it let go sooner than he anticipated, the wild pokemon attacked. Beak came in hot and sharp, the foe managing to put up a guard over its eyes though still had to deal with the pin needle tip of his beak.
As he did so, his foe growled in pain. Tiny arms reached up to swat at him, forcing the wild pokemon to back up if he didn’t want to get in. And just as he did so, the fire type took in a deep breath. Ahh yes. Fire types needed to take in air in order create flames. This, he knew. In that split second moment it took the charmander to drawl in the air needed, his frame encased in a white close. The flames came at him, but he was quicker than that. Much quicker, with the aid of QUICK ATTACK to dodge the embers that wizzed pass him.
Once a few feet of space was between them, taillow took a sneaky glance at the one in hiding before his gaze was on the charmander. <“See that pardner! I nearly pecked your friend here eyes out,”> he squawked angrily out, trying again to get them to come out of hiding, <“You better get out here before I pick them clean.”> Again, a moment of silence filled the air around them. Still, whoever or whatever he was talking about said or did nothing. His chest puffed out, really starting to get annoyed now. Then, an idea came too.
He took in a deep breath, eyes closed to concentrate. He needed to FOCUS his ENERGY, built up the strength to really hurt these friends of theirs. A shimmer encased his frame, this time almost glowing before fainting again. And after a second or two, the taillow called out again. <“I’m getting serious, you better come out here pardner!”>

Arcanine Well, that pesky Taillow still wasn't letting up, unsurprisingly. Just when Cynder thought the fight was coming to a swift conclusion, the aggressive Flying-type threw her a curveball, using an attacking move to avoid what would've otherwise been a sure hit. Cynder supposed that wasn't a bad strategy in itself, but when someone like that Taillow was using it, it left a bad taste in her mouth...or maybe that was just the lingering taste of his talon. In any case, after dodging, the Taillow apparently decided not to anything to hamper her, and instead looked to be focusing on something. Was this some kind of self-buffing, like Retro's Curse? Cynder couldn't get behind something like that, so she Growled as best she could to hamper his concentration. It wasn't much, but she hoped it'd do something to pull his head out of the clouds. The whole time, he'd been talking to someone else, acting like Clover and Cynder knew who they were. Frankly, she was getting tired of his attempts to threaten that "pardner" of his, and Clover seemed to feel quite similarly. " Stop squawking already, you daft moron!" Clover shouted, annoyed by the Taillow's noisiness. " Yeah! We don't even know what you're talking about!" Cynder added, spitting out another fireball in the bird's direction. He needed to concentrate in order to built up his energy. Breathe in. Breathe out. The wild pokemon drew in his focus, pulling every last bit of stored power he had left in him to really give these creatures a piece of his mind and get that darn creature to come out of hiding. The taillow was so focused on himself and his mission, the growl that the fire type casted in his direction went completely ignored.
However, it didn’t take long for the wild pokemon to summon his inner strength. And it would’ve seemed, his continued attempts to draw out his foe in hiding didn’t work either. How frustrating. Beady eyes narrowed at his current visible foe before him, feathered chest puffed out in pride as he hovered in place. How dare they called him those mean words? It wasn’t his fault their friend in hiding was too cowardly to face him and save their lives. That’s their fault for even getting involved. In fact, what happens to them didn’t concern him. They weren’t his target. Guess it’s time to take out the trash.
The fire type took in an other breath, its chest expanded. Taillow wasn’t about to run away. In fact, he was done trying to get his prey out by beating them up. It was time to take this serious. Without a moment to loose, the avian began to charge straight at the charmander. Several hot balls of fire erupted from his foe, the taillow flying straight into them. He braced for the impact, feeling the burning sensation and hearing his feathers sizzle away. However, the wild pokemon didn’t let the embers take away from his directive. Wings out and a GROWL emitted, the wild pokemon flew directly at the charmander. His aim was to simply WING ATTACK his foe with all his might.

The Taillow wasn't listening. Or, at the very least, it didn't care what they had to say. Whatever the belligerent bird was going on about, it didn't really matter to Clover and Cynder all too much, so long as they could potentially make the Flying-type see reason. This wasn't their battle, despite what the bird was thinking.
And it sure as hell wasn't letting up, despite receiving some pretty solid hits. It went straight for Cynder, its aggressive disposition frustrating and concerning her in equal measure, and before she knew it, she was being sent flying herself, only backwards. She tried to pick herself up the best she could, but she was really starting to struggle. The only positive outcome was that because she was so weak, her fire was burning even stronger, but that only mattered so much.
What she really needed to do was finish the fight. With her opponent in flight, hitting her with a physical attack seemed difficult at best, so her best bet would be to go for another Ember. With any luck, it'd be the last one she'd need to fire off.
Growl and Wing Attack hit!

The wild pokemon braced himself, both for the pain of the embers that sizzled on his delicate feathers and the impact of his wings against the fire type. He refused to lose his focus, he must hit this target. He must. And somehow, the wild pokemon did manage to crash his wing right into the foe and send them off their feet. Once the contact was made however, his focus on the attack vanished and exhaustion from battle came all at once.
The avian tensed, unable to keep himself in flight anymore and forced to land several feet away from the charmander. His breath heavy, chest expanded and retracted from the brawn out battle. One eyes closed in an attempt to not let his foes know he was weak, he sqwuaked at them one last time. <“Alright parnter…”> The wild Taillow called out in between heavy breaths, <“This is your last shot. Come out or-“> His eyes widened at the sight of flames already being sent in his direction.
He demanded for his wings to move, demanded his body to move to dodge the incoming hot balls of lava. However, his muscles didn’t respond to him. The taillow screamed louder mentally, his body shifted slightly in an attempt to move out of the way. But, it was no use. Seconds before the embers hit, the avian turned his head with his eyes closed. Again, bracing for the impact of the red hot embers on his feathers. And when they hit, the wild taillow bellowed in pain and agony. The burning too much to handle when he was this weak, soon knocking him out cold as he body became numb and fell to the ground. The wild pokemon was out cold.

To the Charmander's fortune, the raucous bird's complete unwillingness to see reason ended up screwing the thing over in the end. Once again, the Taillow tried to call out to whatever it was so worked up about in the first place. Given that this was in the middle of their fight, it gave Cynder the perfect opportunity to deliver one final strike.
Just as she suspected, it was more than enough. After making such a fuss over his "pardner," the small bird fell flat on its face and became silent. Just like that, it felt like a weight had been lifted off Clover's shoulders...not to mention her eardrums.
"Holy hell," Clover sighed. "Glad that's over with. What a barmy little thing, making such a big fuss over nothing."
Cynder felt inclined to agree, though at the same time, she had to wonder what that Taillow had been making such a big fuss over in the first place. After all, she'd heard the guy prattle on and on with her own two ears, and all during that time, he'd been referring to someone. Just who that was seemed ambiguous, but based off some simple context clues, they were probably somewhere around where that big tree was. Of her own accord, she stepped forward a bit and called out to the Taillow's "pardner."
"Hello? If you're hiding right now, you can come out. It's safe now."
