The sun had yet to rise to the skies as a man waited in shadow. The looming Outpost dominated the slowly brightening skyline, but he was making no move to embrace the warmth of the new day. This man operated in shadow. One would say he thrived in it. Here, he did not have to wear the happy visage of a beloved coordinator. Here he could be who he truly was: a rebel, a predator, a killer. Taking cover underneath a large tree, the man was not wearing the silken suits he loved so much. Instead, he was wearing black military-grade clothing designed for blending into the darkness and maneuverable. The only thing that was a stark contrast to his shadowy fashion statement was a bright white mask adorned with black flames at its bottom. Despite the fact that the visage was not skin, this was what Thorn considered his true face. He glanced down at his Xtransciever. 0545. There was still time before the meeting. He had not seen any type of activity as of yet, but he would wait for his reinforcements before beginning the initial recon of the area. Once she arrived, then the Pokemon on his shoulder would begin his duly appointed task. Odin the Honchkrow sat perched on his shoulder, silent and stonefaced. The early hours did not bother the Dark Type. Both human and Pokemon were ready for whatever they would encounter that day. Chaos was their business, and as always, business was booming.

In the darkness of early dawn, Selina made her way to the agreed meeting place where she and Thorn were to meet. Selina wasn’t used to being up this early, but while she was quite exhausted, her drive to impress her boss pushed her more than her reluctance to be up right now. Domino, on the other hand, was inside the girl’s backpack with her tail sticking out of it as she slept. Selina decided that she would wake her up when she reached the coordinates.
When she arrived, at the coordinates that Thorn had provided her with, she looked at her clock: 0549. She was a little more than ten minutes early. The teen took a moment to scan the area around her, cocking an eyebrow when she didn’t see her boss yet. The teen formed a smile on her face. It was better for her to get there before him than to be late, so it was probably for the best.
What she didn’t realize, however, was that Thorn had already arrived… he was just very well hidden in the dark.
Selina brought her backpack in front of her, gently placing her hand inside. “Domino,” she whispered, arching an eyebrow when she didn’t get a response right away. “Domino, wake up!” The Emolga let out a bit of a surprised squeak before tiredly sticking her head out of the bag, looking up at her Trainer in tired confusion. “Sorry, Domino, no more sleeping, okay? Thorn should be here any minute, and we’ve gotta be ready for anything.”
Domino slowly crawled out of Selina’s bag, rubbing her eye with her three fingered paw before letting out a massive yawn. “Emon…” The squirrel quietly sighed. It would take her a little bit to wake up, but Selina was confident that the squirrel would be awake by the time Thorn arrived. If not, she could always use one of her other Pokémon earlier on in the mission.
For now, all she had to do was wait.

Thorn watched as Selina approached and walked right by him. It was a classic rookie move but he didn’t want her training to get out on the wrong foot. It was best to nip this kind of behavior in the bud. He removed the mask momentarily and spoke softly. “Good morning. Very punctual. However don’t forget to mind your surroundings. Check all corners to make sure the area is clear before relaxing your guard.”
Selina would certainly remember the mask from her meeting in the office. Thorn continued on, his visage showing no emotion. “We’ve done some initial recon, which is why we’re meeting here first. As we get closer to the outpost we’ll start to run into potential targets. However…”
Thorn placed the mask on his face and pressed a button in the process, activating the voice modulator. The distortion was unnatural, but necessary to keep his true identity a secret while taking up the guise of a coordinator. “…if we run into issues, this will be our initial fallback location. From here we can make a full retreat to the shore for extraction.”
Odin silently watched on, no opinion on the matter. This was not a crucial mission. There was no need to get himself overly worked up over a training day. “Also, a word of advice. I would refrain from using that name while out on business. If someone here’s you call her that, then it wouldn’t be too hard to whip up a description of young girl, brown hair, Emolga named Domino that could lead back to you. I myself use different names when in the presence of targets and hostiles but you can do whatever works for you. Now, if you’re ready, let’s press on to the Outpost.”
There was no hostility in his words, nor was it intended to be a chastising lecture. She was a green horn, and Thorn intended on implanting knowledge in her that would make Selina useful.

Selina almost let out a yelp that was too loud, but after being startled for a moment or two, she recognized the mask on her Admin’s face and let out a relieved sigh. “Sorry,” Selina said. “I’ll be sure to be more cautious from now on. I like that mask you’re wearing, Admin. I think it quite suits you.” With that all out of the way, it was business now. They were here for a special mission: one that would make her better at stealing Pokémon, and not rely so much on luck.
Selina listened to the instructions, and her eyes lit up when she heard him mention “potential targets”. Was it possible that they could be stealing Pokémon from Trainers today? Well, the day just started, so it was hard to see how that couldn’t be at least possible. Selina was ready for the long haul with this mission: she was ready to be there from dawn until dusk. The teen looked at her surroundings and then brought her attention back to her boss and nodded. “Alright, will do.” Selina agreed softly. The teen wasn’t exactly as unprepared as she seemed… not quite. She could’ve been wearing it when she got there, but to be fair she didn’t know if she would need it.
The teen placed a face mask on before grabbing the hood of the black jacket she was wearing, and put it over her head. Sure, she was wearing glasses, but those were removable, so if people were using that for describing her, it wouldn’t really do them any good. “Oh sweet,” Selina said with a smile. “I call her Eureka when I’m in my street clothes-.”
“Eureka… Eureka…”
“Heh, yeah, she’s taken it as almost a second name… but I don’t think Eureka will work in this case since I already know some people who know her as Eureka. I’ll try to teach her to answer to another name… you’re going to simply be Emolga right now, okay?”
“Emonga…” Domino… oddly enough couldn’t say “Emolga”... weird. She honestly wondered if all Emolga had issues with this fairly simple word. Domino didn’t exactly have issues saying the letter “l”... best not overthink it, I suppose.
In any case, Selina nodded, ready to press forward. “I’m ready for anything, Boss…” Selina said with a thumbs up. “Lead the way.” It was almost a complete night and day to how she reacted to him initially last time. Aside from being startled for a few seconds, Selina wasn’t scared of Thorn at all… maybe she could even make a few targets scared of her. Did she want that? She was a member of Team Rocket, wasn’t she? So sure, she wanted that! What else could she possibly want?

And early though it indeed was and as such there were not that many that were travelling forth at this hour - other than those who may have been moving to or from whatever activities that had caused them to be out during the darker hours or even heading out to, much like Selina and Thorn themselves - there were indeed still those who would be moving about even now even if not all would be so easily noticed by the Rocket Admin and his young potential protegee.
For far out into the Outpost area itself - or at the very least in an area that would be far beyond the sight of the pair of humans that had specifically come here for whatever mission that the higher ranked individual of the two had in mind for their time here - there would be another pair that would be on the verge of making their own plans for their own time here and just how they would put such potential plans or other intentions into place.
The day however were still very young and as such there were indeed plenty of opportunities in which to work with and generally use, it would just depend upon where the day would take them all and what path would be followed amongst but a few things - as such this could lead to a somewhat eventful day all around or one that could be dull. Only time would tell but not quite yet and now would not be quite the time.

Selina had fallen in line from the get go and was walking right alongside him. He didn't sense much trepidation or fear from her like in the early stages of the meeting they had just recently. Either she was doing a very convincing act of masking her fear, or she had completely been bolstered by his little bit of praise. Either option was good for Thorn and his plans for shaping the young girl into the perfect agent. Taking that into consideration, Thorn decided it was time to live up to being the senior officer on this excursion. He turned his head slightly towards Odin. "Initiate another sweep. We will continue our approach on foot."He held off and gave some time for Selina to pose questions if needed. This was, after all, just the Wordlessly the Honchkrow nodded and hopped off Thorn's shoulder. The Dark type flared his wings and took to the sky. He began to head towards the Outpost, eager to find potential victims for and the girl to prey upon. Thorn then glanced towards Selina before speaking again. "He'll be our advance scout as we advance. Stay with me for now. We can consider flanking once we have a better idea of anyone's presence." Thorn beginning of her tutoring.

The young teen and little Emolga watched as the Honchcrow took off to scout for potential targets. Scouting… if she trained Domino enough, she could be a pretty good scout. Domino felt like quite a convenient partner to be honest… though with her being with her at all times, she did understand that Domino could also be a way to expose her. But at the same time, it wasn’t like Domino was the size of the Honchcrow. All the teen would need to do was stick the Emolga into her backpack, or a hood. All she needed to do was call her by a different name and boom! Domino wouldn’t be a liability.
Domino was already almost trained enough to pull this off, she just needed a little more tweaking.
Selina wanted to learn more about the Honchcrow, but decided that this wasn’t the time to bring out her dex. Sure, it was muted, but it was also kinda bright, and would probably alert others to their location. Instead, it was probably best to wait to get a good look at it later.
“Alright,” Selina whispered just softly enough. “So, he’s trained to come back and direct us to a potential target, correct?” That’s something useful she could learn. Domino had done similar stunts like this, but this Pokémon was more mature, not so easily distracted, and had a lot more experience. Over all, the Honchcrow was less prone to making mistakes because of these three things, something she really wanted for herself and her Pokémon. Arceus knew she didn’t want to fail, or worse, get caught, because of her inexperience.
But… that was what Thorn was here for, right? To make sure that wouldn’t happen. Domino had crawled out of Selina’s backpack onto the young teen’s shoulder as the two Rocket members kept on going. Upon being given instructions on what they were to do, Selina nodded in understanding. “Got that, Emolga?”
“Emon!” Domino said with a nod as they continued on. Were there any targets out tonight?

And while whatever targets that the Team Rocket Admin and young students may have been out here to harass or otherwise cause torment for - or whatever else may be upon their particular 'list' for the day - such things would as of yet be far beyond their line of sight even if alternatively as the pair of humans would be beginning to head off on their 'quest' they would be heading in the right direction. In the case of the large Honchkrow however though it would be a brief time period before there would be any evidence of life for the large dark to take note of, with enough patience and attention paid to where he were looking would Odin likely begin to observe some evidence of potential subjects. For along the route in which the large dark feathered bird were taking there would be signs of movement upon the ground, it may be hard to tel at first just what were upon the ground and next what activities these beings were attempting - such things would and could be considered quite tame in comparison to what could be happening but alternatively there were a certain amount of planning too. For no doubt Odin's keen eyesight would be able to observe the Larvesta and Impidimp upon the ground and moving about seemingly setting up what couldony be described as trip wire traps and ensuring that such things would be covered and not easily detected by those who likely would not be expecting such and as such not looking out for or even seeing such things until it were too late. Little knowing that their intentions were being observed would the pair seem to continue their work and rushing around with apparent gusto. || Level 15 -- Level 17 || 150 / 150 -- 170 / 170 || Male -- Male || Flame Body -- Frisk || Status -- StatusZen Headbutt, Ember, String Shot, Absorb -- Fake Out, Confide, Bite, Flatter, Fake Tears, Assurance

Odin caught the two wild Pokemon in his gaze long before he would have had to approach them. He watched their antics for a bit before doing a loop in the air and winging it back to his partner. Thorn noted the approach of the Flying type and extended his left arm. Odin came in for a landing, flapping his wings as he slowed his velocity down. Upon landing on the appendage, he shuffled towards the shoulder, allowing Thorn to relax his arm. "Two Pokemon ahead. Nothing special, but they're setting up some kind of trap. Couldn't make out what it was, but it'd be best to either hit them from range or just ignore them altogether."Despite Thorn's desire to have nothing to do with these two pranksters in front of him, this would be a good test for Selina to see if the two had any chemistry in battle. Therefore, Thorn inwardly sighed and prepared for what would most assuredly be a wasted effort on his part. "Greed has spotted two wild Pokemon up to no good ahead of us. It's probably still early for most travelers, so let's have us a little warm up. Be wary, and let's try to finish this quickly."He plucked a Pokeball from his belt and softly pressed the button. He idly tossed it in the air, causing it to burst open. A bright white light midair began to take the form of a Magby as it landed on one knee, his fists hitting the dirt. "Reckon it's my turn then, Pardner?"Thorn nodded in the direction. "Two targets ahead. Take them out. Sunny Day, then Flamethrower."Ifrit cracked his knuckles audibly, and slowly began sauntering without fear towards the two Wild Pokemon. Once he felt he was within range, he held up a hand, and a ball of energy began to appear. The little white orb was suddenly thrown in the air directly over the Pokemon involved, creating a brightness that would empower his strikes. Taking in a deep breath, he exhaled, sending an almost draconic level of heat and fire careening towards the Pokemon on the left.

Selina walked alongside Thorn for a while until she noticed the Honchcrow returning, chirping something to its Trainer. The teen… still wasn’t very good at understanding most Pokémon, but she assumed that it was just as obedient as the Granbull that she and Domino met last time. So, if it came back, it must’ve found something worthy of their attention. Selina and Domino eagerly grinned at each other, both ready for some action. Thorn explained that Greed had found a couple of trouble makers and that they could use a bit of a warm up before going after real targets. Selina nodded eagerly, following with a quiet “Yes sir.” The goal was to be wary and to finish this quickly… she had Domino of course, but she had another reliable Pokémon to deal with this issue. She just hoped he would cooperate with the boss around. After all, it wasn’t like Miro would stand much of a chance against the admin, no matter how strong he believed himself to be. Upon reaching the two Pokémon, Selina quickly took out the muted dex to get a reading on both of them. One was a… strange looking larvae Pokémon, and the other was an… imp? Yeah, she knew it was probably smarter not to, but she just needed more information on these two. Larvesta, the Torch Pokémon. A Bug-Fire Type. It protects itself with flame. Long ago, people believed Larvesta had a nest on the sun.Impidimp, the Wily Pokémon. A Dark-Fairy Type. It sneaks into people’s homes, stealing things and feasting on the negative energy of the frustrated occupants.Larvesta was certainly didn’t seem like the troublemaking type, exactly, but Impidimp definitely fit the mold. It actually wasn’t the dex description that clued her in but just the way it looked. It looked like a Pokémon that could cause problems… though both looked like potential troublemakers that she could use. Larvesta especially looked pretty powerful. She wondered if she could use these Pokémon on her team somehow… would it impress Thorn to catch both? Well, there was only one way to find out. After Thorn let out his Magby and it did what it needed to do, Selina took note of the harsh sunlight that was on the field now. Didn’t her dex tell her about Miro’s Growth ability that was affected by the harsh sun? Selina smiled as she took out a Pokeball. She’d save Domino for later. “Miro,” Selina whispered as a bright light formed a short, but rather confident Snivy holding his hands on his hips. “Use Growth, and Vine Whip.”Looking up into the sun, Miro sucked in a deep breath before soaking in the energy of the sun, a smirk forming on his face by the end of it. He then turned his attention to the untouched Impidimp and let out his vines, aiming to smack the imp with them extra hard thanks to the Magby’s Sunny Day. The Snivy grinned as his leaf soaked in the juicy sunlight before looking over at her Trainer… before looking shocked at who she was with. Miro turned to look at the Magby, and simply looked ahead… Selina was… working with a Team Rocket admin? But of course, she was! She was a member of Team Rocket, why wouldn’t she? The amount of anger that swirled in his stomach was unmatched… but he couldn’t disobey Selina now. No, not a chance. Miro wasn’t stupid enough to do that. He knew the consequences of such a travesty. NOw while the Larvesta and Impidimp were fully expecting some sort of target to come their way sooner rather than later, if there were one thing they may not have otherwise anticipated were the fact that any targets that may have been heading their way had an aerial observer at their disposal. This would lead to the small tricksters being somewhat puzzled by the fact that the ones they were likely waiting for - for the pair had long since found ways to make themselves aware of travellers that were heading their way - would be taking longer than anticipated. This would at least be the reason for their momentary pause after having set up their 'traps', not that they would have to wait all too long to realise that their plans were not to work out - for the sudden bright light that would rise above and illuminate the area would be more than enough to confirm such along with the mildly distant view of the pair of humans and their respective pokemon - most noteably the pair that would have been sent forth to no doubt deal with the tricksters. Well, the plans that they had set up wouldn't work now so they would just have to deal with the head on consequences of all this - it were bound to have happened at some point. So the pair went into focus as attention were paid to the fire and grass type pair in order to determine their actions - though it would certainly be evident that the other tame pair were potentionally going all out for this. The strong blast of flames that would speed towards the bug would cause said bug to both look a little alarmed but surprisingly focus quickly in order to ensure that such a thing would not do the damage that would be hoped. For while unexpected the larvae pokemon would make the most of it's capabilities of using a burst of sticky webbing to target a distant fixed point and - with a few seconds to spare - pull itself from the spot that moments after would the surge of flames blaze where the Larvesta had been situated. This action would surprisingly also bring it closer to the grass type and as such this would be the bugs chosen target for the moment before making efforts to charge forward in an effort to hit the Snivy. the IMpidimp meanwhile would have generally focused it's gaze upon the Magby with a sneer, even as the ines that had been sent it's way would connect with it's target and do damage the imp pokemon would take a moment to steady itself before charging towards the fire type with a snarl and jaws opening wide in an attempt to bite down upon the other. || Level 15 -- Level 17 || 150 / 150 -- 102 / 170 || Male -- Male || Flame Body -- Frisk || Status -- StatusZen Headbutt, Ember, String Shot, Absorb -- Fake Out, Confide, Bite, Flatter, Fake Tears, Assurance Larvesta dodges Flamethrower Larvesta uses Zen Headbutt on Miro: 80 damage if hit

Ifrit saw the Impidimp coming from a mile away. He jumped backwards, letting the teeth clamp down on nothing but air. This was nothing compared to some of the Pokemon he had encountered at Thorn's side. These were just a bunch of wild childs who were hopped up on their own vinegar and looking to fight. He spat out an insult dripping with derision. "Pathetic."Thorn continued to quietly approach. The Larvesta seemed to be the stronger of the two, so he decided to change tactics. He spoke to Selina as he stepped forward. "Shifting focus. Eliminate the weaker link."He called out his next set of orders. "Leer. Mega Punch on the Impidimp."Ifrit flexed his muscles and unleashed his right fist in what he hoped would be a devastating uppercut after continuing to stare down his feeble foes. This renegade that he had aligned himself to certainly knew strategy, so the Fire type had no reason to doubt his orders. This wasn't much of a challenge, but the Magby was going to take this as a warm-up bout for whatever their real mission was out here in the wilderness. Either way, it was going to be fun inflicting some pain.

Miro’s success upon hitting the Impidimp raised his ego quite a bit, which was a good thing since that was a nice distraction from Admin Thorn’s presence. Unfortunately, he was also distracted from the Zen Headbutt that was heading his way, and by the time he was smirking at the Impidimp directly, his smirk didn’t even get to change to shock when the Larvesta rammed right into the snake. Miro flipped backward, snarling and skidding to a halt as a sort of green aura started surrounding her. “Not yet, Snivy!” Selina called out, causing the Snivy to spin his head around. “Leave your secret weapon for later. You guys can get an advantage first!” Miro squinted at her Trainer, and then at Thorn, and then back at Selina… she seemed confident. Maybe there was actually a reason? Either way, Miro decided to nod, and instead, focused on the rays of sun, using Growth again. Thorn described the plan, targeting the weaker of the two: the Impidimp, so that there was two against the Larvesta. As much as he didn’t like the idea to listen to the Admin, he knew the choice wasn’t his. And, all in all, Miro would be a fool to think he was stupid. Thorn’s plan was a good one, and he probably would’ve done it much more willingly if his Trainer said it instead. “Alright, you heard the boss,” Selina said, brimming in confidence. “Focus on the Impidimp.”Miro nodded as he showed vines again, reaching a vine into the trees and started jumping through the branches. The Snivy dashed from branch to branch, his speed increasing more and more as he used the leaves in the branches before leaping down from the trees, coiling both vines together, and aiming the combined force of both vines at the back of the imp’s head. At the end of it, Miro landed on both feet, smirking at the Larvesta, planning his revenge for that Zen Headbutt. Sure, he was a Grass-Type, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t cause this fire worm some pain for hitting him with an attack. Now unsurprisingly the Impidimp would be more than a little frustrated and irritated at taking note of the fact that the Magby were to quite literally jump out of the way of the incoming attack, well in someway who wouldn't be a little annoyed by such a detail and though there would be effort made for the dark fairy to hide what it were feeling even if a small amount would seep through while staring at the Magby. It would be as a result of the irritation that flowed through this being that the detail of it becoming the focus of both the opposing pokemon were indeed overlooked, though where the Impidimp may have overlooked and otherwise not paid attention to such a thing did not mean that the Larvesta were to neglect such things - quite the opposite in fact. But where this may be alarming alternatively the bug would certainly be interested in using such a detail to the advantage by the bug. So it would be from here that the look that would be cast in the direction of the pair of pokemon would do it's work then as the Magby would charge towards the Impidimp that the fairy type wouldn't quite react quick enough to avoid such, rather it would send the Impidimp tumbling backwards and - surprisingly - due to it's stumbling would the vines used against it go straight over it's head without causing any damage. Though the Impidimp would use the momentum afforded to it through it's attempts to rectify itself before lashing out at he Magby with an angered cry, well who could blame it for being angry now? Meanwhile the Larvesta would use this opportunity of the Snivy being focused and otherwise distracted by wanting to strike at the Impidimp that the bug would attempt to rush towards the grass type as fast as it were able to all the while launching a small burst of flames towards it's intended victim. || Level 15 -- Level 17 || 150 / 150 -- 17 / 170 || Male -- Male || Flame Body -- Frisk || Defense -1 -- Defense -1Zen Headbutt, Ember, String Shot, Absorb -- Fake Out, Confide, Bite, Flatter, Fake Tears, Assurance Leer hit, lowering both pokemon's defense

Thorn had expected the counter-attack, and already had his next move prepared. "Smokescreen!"Hopping backwards, the Magby released a cloud of smoke from his mouth. He created a sphere of impenetrable fog to hide in, avoiding damage once again. Ifrit had been practicing this non-stop with Thorn in the dojo ever since they had first come to an agreement over their partnership. It was one of his classic moves and would lead to the inevitable second strike of the combo. "Flamethrower."Ifrit, from the safety of his smog, unleased a jet of flames from his mouth again, sending them hurtling towards the incredibly healthy-looking Larvesta. The cloud dissipated with the sudden heat, leaving only the arson assault crawling through the air like an Arbok after prey. Thorn saw how weak the Impidimp was looking, and knew this would be the perfect chance for Selina. He glanced over at her. "Good. Finish it off, then regroup to take on the Larvesta with me."Every step was surgical. Every opportunity calculated. Thorn was leaving nothing to chance, as if this wasn't just a random smackdown on two wild Pokemon.

Important Info
Season
Good news, Autumn is here! The sticky heat of the summer is finally gone, but the bad news? Its gotten very cold very fast. Berrys have fallen early from their perches, fruit and food is getting caught in snap frosts and icy mornings and this is leading to very cold mornings, pokemon getting desprate quickly and dark and chilly evenings
Next season change ~ May 20th
Swarming Pokemon!
Encouraged Characters
Currently, our character numbers are pretty even, so aside from us gently encouraging more civilians and breeders...go nuts!
Numbers of Gijinka on site have dropped, too, so they're open to be applied for at the moment- though, if you're interested, go check out the adoptable threads for many wanted ones! They could always use players! ;-)
