At 5"2' Layla often get mistaken for one who is much younger than what she actually may be, though given her almost childlike looks it is no surprise that many who encounter her would think this.
Layla is quite a slim young woman though also curvy in the right places, not that this would be all to obvious unless anyone were to truly study her. Her hair colour - depending up the light - can appear anything from silvery blue to light purple (though this effect is as a result of the hair dye that she uses, on account that Layla is naturally blond but uses hair dye to achieve the colour effect currently in place) and is so long that it reaches down to her knees when loose though when working it is often tied up in a large braid that reaches part way down her back.
Layla will often wear her favourite outfit which tends to consist of a light pale blue blouse with a long sleeved purple jacket with a matching knee length shirt, black leggings and sturdy boots.
The only child of a relatively well known Coordinator and Ranger, Layla grew up both hearing and watching both her parents share their passions with their only child. Born in Snowpoint city amidst a snow storm because of such Layla grew up loving such occurrences - which were naturally often, spending so much time sat at the window or outside staring about in wonder at the white world she lived within. It were also during many such times that Layla would listen to her mother's stories of her travels with her Frolass and all the contests that the pair took part in, the same for her father whenever he were home often telling her of the many pokemon he had seen working as a ranger and helped in turn by his Glalie.
So many years were spent like this until the day came where Layla mother was lost tragically during a rather bad winter after having been ill for so long prior to it. Thankfully her mother's Frolass were luckier, though never was quite the same afterwards even if had a young Layla to look after when her father was away.
Though her life was filled with less cheer Layla used it as motive to focus her time and energy upon her studies, for her desire was to follow her father and become a ranger.
It had been on one such day that Layla had been doing some outdoor training that she came across a half starved and injured Spearow half buried in the snow.
It took several long weeks to get the small bird back up to strength and by then it did not wish to leave, rather choosing to remain with the human that had cared so much for it.
So naturally once Layla had done all that she had needed to do in order to achieve her dreams of becoming a ranger did she bid farewell to her father and come to Shula - for a fresh start in a new place was always a good thing.
