Despite the season casting the region into the chiller temperatures, snow has yet to really blanket the forest. Because of this, Genesis wanted to get some training in before it does. Bundled up in her winter attire, the breeder asked Izumi to come out and train. Although the fire fox wasn’t really a fan of battling, she did understand the importance of keeping herself in top condition. The woman spend some time setting up an agility course, taking longer than normal to set it all up. It was cold after all. But soon, it was ready and time to train.

A firm click sounded off the pair darted forward. The first tasked was the poles, weaving in and out easily and no time at all. Next, the a frame. Her face twisted into concentration, darting up one side swiftly before dipping down on the other side. Slow and steady. Leaping off the back, the three different heights were next. The first, easy. The second, almost clipped the bar. And last, easy. Her eyes were set on the tunnel, ducking down and zooming without an issue. Out the other side, Izumi ran to the balance beam. This one always startled her. But, not today. Easy. And after a few more jumps, the pair ran to the platform and stopped the time. Both huffed and buffed. Surely, this will convince her that she was ready.

The breeder was buzzing with excitement of how well her business was doing after such a harsh winter season. And with several new pokemon eggs under his wing, the breeder almost decided to skip this weeks training session in favor of caring for the newly acquired eggs. Stryker however, wasn’t about to let that happen.

The little electric pup let out a series of yips, stubby tail wagged feverishly back and forth. Genesis smiled, adjusting the last bit of the agility course she had memorized now for her younger pack members. And as soon as Stryker noticed this, little feet pushed him swiftly to the starting platform. He leaped onto it, nearly missing it and falling. Genesis stifled a laugh, moving to the platform with him and pulling out her stop watch. The yamper was ready, wanting to get stronger for the sake of the packs well being. He was so eager to fit in, the canine wanted to prove himself.

Genesis counted down, shouting go as soon as her finger pressed the button. The pair darted off, tackling each obstacle one by one. The poles and tunnels were easy for the little canine. The jumping poles, a frame, and even the balance beam were difficult for him. And after running the course, the puppy was panting hard. Despite this exhausting, Stryker wanted to do again. He moved to the starting platform again, letting out another series of barks to get his human to came back for another round. The breeder let out a soft chuckle and shook her head, but agreed.

Todays special training session was going to be different from the rest. Instead of Genesis spending her morning setting up an agility course for her pokemon to run through, the breeder decided to take a different course of action. “What am I doing here?” The shrew shulian rockruff grumbled, casting a skeptical glare at the absol “And why is she here?” The absol casted a worried look in return, feeling like this was about to be a disaster waiting to happen.

Genesis sighed. “You’re going help Nisha train.” Kuvira growled. Genesis casted the pup a stern look, not willing to deal with another canine with a nasty attitude. The shulian rockruff noticed her look, feeling the sting of the alpha of the pack. She grumbled but did what she asked.

Once she was on her side, she stood behind Nisha the absol. “Alright. This will be a clean fight. Both do your best. Nisha, don’t be afraid. Kuvira, don’t go easy.” Both nodded in agreement. “Okay. Let’s do this. Ready set go! Nisha use quick attack.” The absol darted forward, ready to slam into the shulian rockruff. This was going to be a tough training session for Nisha but hopefully, effective.

Once simply tasks seemed almost impossible now. And this whole experience, opened up a whole new world of patience and understanding for those what had suffer from similar things she had. The raven haired woman has tries to put on a brave face, so to speak. Yet, it was clear she was still struggling even after all this time. It was actually her lucario, Ryoko who suggested she take her pokemon to do some special training. His suggestion was a good one. Partake in something a little more ‘normal’ to help her cope with her new disabilities. However, Genesis was doubtful. After all, she couldn’t see or hear. What was the point?

With the assistance of the shulian absolute named Chandra, the group headed out to the dojo for a training session. It was Ryoko who guided her to the dojo, Chandra close by to use her telepathy to communicate what was going on around her and what others were saying. Of course, Evo and Kirala didn’t dare stay behind as they didn’t want anything to happen to their beloved human.

“Alright,” the breeder spoke up, her tone clearly down, “I’m here. You said Killua wanted to train today.” “Yes,” Ryoko spoke softly, gaze flickered to the shulian absol to telepathically communicate with her, “He has been itching for a battle in a while and starting to get restless.” A heavy sigh escaped the woman, but nodded. Lucario turned his gaze to the electric feline, nodded to move found and center. His head high, tail high above his head, and nothing but arrogance in his stance. “I will be training him. Please Chandra, communicate as much as possible to her.” The shulian absol nodded, not fond of her new role but accepted it for now.

For the next several hours, it was Ryoko and Killua who battled it out. The lucario taking on the role of personal trainer for all of Genesis’s pokemon now that she was unable to do so. And with Lucario being much more battle experienced than Killua, this was great training for him to learn his limits and how much he can do. In fact, the fight and steel type could see that this little pup had a lot in him and can see a great warrior in the future. But for now, he was just a cocky pup. In the end, the shinx got what he asked for leaving him well worn down and out for the count. Genesis had a smile on her lips, something that doesn’t happen to often now a days.

Unlike Evo, Kirala wanted an actual battle tor practice for the dark gym. And the only one that could prove a change, would be Nymeria. Of course, the poochyena didn’t want to. It took some real convincing to get her to agree to do this. But after several hours of Kirala begging the canine, somehow she got her to agree to it and actually try to win the fight. Kirala moved to one side of the small clearing by their house while Nymeria moved to the other. Genesis stood on the sidelines, doing her best to hide her smile.

Genesis counted down and the practice battle began. Kirala started the battle with a nasty looking leer at the poochyena, forcing her to second guess herself. And in that moment of hesitation, the rockruff darted towards her in a tackle. Their bodies collided, a small whine escaped nymeria but she didn’t back down. The dark dog darted towards the rock dog, muzzle parted to bite down on the little rockeuffs tail.

She yipped, paws dug into the each to sand attack her. The sand blasted her eyes, being forced to let go and put some distance between them as she tried to get the sand out of her eyes. Kirala once again, too advance of her. She double teamed herself before sending a rock throw in her direction. Over all, the battle didn’t last long at all. Kirala was the victory leaving Nymeria beaten up and nearly blinded.

Despite all this time, Genesis was still crept out by the bug. A chill ran down the woman’s spine, though she tried to hide it the best she could from the shiny trapinch. It couldn’t be helped though. There was something about bugs that gave her creeps. And despite Rivah not being of the bug type per say, she still looked buggy to the raven haired woman. It’s not her fault though. And with that in mind, the breeder sucked it up and told herself to deal with it. The shiny trapinch was still her pokemon darn it.

Genesis spent the day setting up a smaller agility course for the little creature. Removing things like the jump poles and the teeter tooter out of fear, Rivah would get hurt. And after the course was full set up, green orbs shifted to the shiny pokemon who glared at her. Weirdly if you asked Genesis. The woman flinched, taking a slight step back from to put some space between them. “Hey Rivah,” she greet, a light choppy fake chuckle escaped her, “Ready to start?” The bug eyed her, moving to the platform. Even the way it moved creeped her out. This was going to be a long day.

Following after the creature, Genesis stood (a few feet away) by the platform with her. She began to explain the course, finger hovered over the button in preparation for the training to start. Rivah leaped into action, crawling towards the first obstacle. A heavy sigh escaped her, finger pressed the starting button and gave chase. Rivah ran up the bridge, crawling across it and coming down with no issue. Next, darted through the tunnel and came out the other end. So far, so good. She came to the poles, her head too big for the tiny gaps. That didn’t stop her though. Once forcing her way in and out of the poles, she made her way to the a frame. And by some miracle, she went up and over. Genesis was shocked. And soon enough, the course was completed. The breeder nodded, impressed by her time.

With her plans to take on the year this year now pushed onto the next year, the raven haired woman decided to give her pokemon more time to get stronger and think of better strategy to face the gym. And with Ryoko out of practice for a while and a new found direction in life, the breeder was quick to set up something for the lucario in hopes to keep him moving in the right direction. After all, they had some bond recovery to do as well.

Ryoko eyed the young shulian riolu, arms folded over his chest. The human smiled, explaining the purpose of this training exercise again to both so they each understood what was going on. Ryoko nodded. He understood and agreed, but it felt young to beat up on the young. However, his human did make a good point. Think of this as though he was training his own young, or like a young pup from his old pack. It was hard to think of it that way, both were trauma in their own way. But, doable.

So for the next several hours, Ryoko began to train the young riolu in the art of hand to hand combat. Of course, the lucario went easy on the young boy but still gave it his all. Genesis would observed in the background, stepping in when she felt was necessary or when she had her own ideas. In the end, both the lucario and the riolu were worn down. And in some ways, Genesis felt that Ryoko got some training in despite being paired against a much younger foe. She was happy in the end.
