Lars rolled his shoulders as he stood beside the kitchen fridge, his hand pulling out the jug inside it and then turning to settle it on the counter behind him before he shoved the door closed with a shoulder. The pale blue liquid in the jug sloshed back and forth, mixing up a series of berry's and berry slices within it as it came to rest. He had been pretty clear about his directions the man thought as he waited but as he, moved over to the glass cabinet and took out two matching glasses in his favourite fractal design he did pause.

He didnt like that a woman had shown him up, had beaten him over and over in battles against pokemon which he had to admit were a lot too cocky it seemed and needed more training. All the same, the first part still applied and he was nothing if not consistent. Besides, if the woman could go ahead and win like that then he had questions for her. Where was she from? What did she do in life to get that good? Was it all luck? And how would he be able to make this all work for him.

It was a well known fact for many shulian’s whom have met Genesis before that she tends to get easily lost, even with very descriptive directions. Luckily though, the way to his apartment weren’t too difficult to understand. It also help that he didn’t live too far away from her home. He was, quite literally, a town over. And this time, the long haired woman was thankful. Could you imagine being invited to visit a friends house and getting lost? That would be embarrassing to say the least.[break][break]

But as the woman stood outside the apartment building and stared at the address listed, the breeder couldn’t help the shaking feeling that this was a bad idea. Not that the blonde haired man was a bad person (that she was aware of), but the nagging feeling that she was a’ married’ woman visiting a single (that she was aware of) man’s home by herself. It wasn’t a date (that she was aware of) and it wasn’t like she was ‘actively’ married (this she was aware of). Well… She was… But only because the guy won’t sign the divorce papers. She was a free woman to do what she pleases. So this was okay, right? The woman mentally sighed.[break][break]

Taking in a deep breath to calm her anxiety, Genesis put on a brave face and smiled. She reminded herself that this was nothing but two people getting to know one another, much like everyone else she has met so far in Shula. In this case, the man was kind enough to invite her over to his home to talk some more. No big deal! Everything was fiiiiine. There was nothing to this. She can do this. Being social wasn’t a bad thing, right? [break][break]

The woman entered the luxury looking apartment, moving to the fancy all glass elevator and entered when the doors opened. Her green orbs flickered over all the buttons counting up, finding the last one and push the button that had a big bold 20 on it. The platform moved smoothly, climbing all the way up to the last floor before letting out a soft bing that she reached her destination. Glass doors opened, letting her out. And for a moment, she hesitated in there. She mentally debated with herself. Was this a good idea?[break][break]

The doors began to close after a minute or two, and she panicked. Genesis rushed out by turning her body sideways to slip out the small gap before they completely closed on her. She let out a breath of relief, though now her decision was made. Holding a soft smile, the raven haired woman approached the door. A hand rose, fingers pulled in to form a fist and knocking gently three times with her knuckle. “Hello. It’s me, Genesis.” Her green orbs on the peep hole, the same hand that knocked gave a finger wiggling way.

Lars leaned over the glasses he had and picked them up, moving across the room to settle his own, drink already inside, on one side of the coffee table and then leaned to place the other on the other side. He was in the process of going back to collect the jug when the door sounded and the man paused, smirking as he did so. He kept walking in the next moment, taking some time to move across the room and collect the jug before he gave a low whistle.

As he moved back to the coffee table, the tapping of paws sounded from upstairs and it took a moment but soon dashie and gravewolf had run down the stairs and the former went to the door, tugging on a big of cloth the trainer had long since tied around it for this very purpose, while Grave ran across the room and to the end of one of the large sofa's to where she settled herself, and moments later, Morgren revealed herself from under it.

"Predictable...." the man commented as he heard the door click open and the loud bark of greeting from Dashie, the man turning back to her with a look of shock on his face and the jug still in his hand. "Here so soon? I haven't even finish ordering food, come on in" he said with a laugh, setting the jug down as he did so and then turning to face her directly.

As soon as her knuckles knocked on the door and her fingers wiggled in a wave at the peep hole, her nervousness and anxiety began to over grow astronomically from before. She could almost feel her heart race, stomach turn into knots, body temperature rise, and shortness of her breath. But why, why would she be feeling this? She was just visiting a friend.. ish… an acquaintance… a stranger… Hmm… Maybe the breeder should rethink this more.[break][break]

But before the raven haired woman could get a chance to change her mind, the door opened. Green orbs expected to see the familiar face of the blonde haired man. Except, there was no one there. An excited bark drawled her attention down, spotting the yamper who must have opened the door. Almost instantly, all her anxiety and uneasiness vanished at the sight of the electric dog. Her fake grin turned into a genuine smile, bending over and extending a single hand for the canine to sniff. “Oh hello there cutie,” she greeted, waiting for the canine to sniff her hand to scent her out, “you remind me so much of my yamper, Stryker.” What was it with canines and her being so drawn to them?[break][break]

However, Genesis was quickly reminded that she and the yamper weren’t alone. Green orbs lifted to the sound of his voice, straightening back up again and offering a small smile tagged with a casual shrug. “Oh sorry. Am I early?” A soft fake chuckle escaped her, hands fell behind her and fingers intertwined to keep them back there. “I must admit, it seems like I’m normally late so I have gotten into the habit of leaving a little earlier.” He offered her to come in, the woman poising briefly in a quick moment of silent debate before doing so.[break][break]

Stepping on, her gaze swept the gorgeous apartment before she turned to close the door gingerly. And in that split second, Genesis tried to remind herself to breathe and that everything was fine. Turning back, the woman approached the man. “You have a beautiful home, by the way.” Keep it casual, keep it light, keep it simply. You got this girl. Be social for once in your life.

The focus on him, Dashie took the rare chance to be the one getting all the attention and nuzzled in to the new arrival. Lars meanwhile didnt say anything, or do anything, but mentally kicked off a theory in his mind as clearly correct. The woman had a soft spot for canines, and this it seemed might just work out in his favour. Setting down the glasses and jug on the table, the man turned and wandered over to his guest in time to find the electric on his back wiggling from side to side at the fuss and pets he was getting, giggling the entire time.

Moving over to the male and pausing beside him, it was only when genesis spoke again lars looked back to her and away from the pup. "I was always told "A lady is never late, or early, she merely arrives when she is supposed to arrive" so I'v always followed through with that one

[/font]" the man replied with a chuckle, pretty sure that telling her she was late and it did piss him off was not going to end well. Lies were easier, and so much simpler too.

As she closed the door, he looked her over and held out a hand for anything she might offer him, from a handbag to coat, or pokeballs if he was lucky, before giving his best attempt at embarrassment as his eyes moved away from her. "Oh you are too kind, truth be told im not here very often so it stays pretty clean from that. Well, that and Starlight is a pokemon of principle and one of them is cleanliness" the man said in what he hoped was a sheepish tone, trying to force out a laugh at the end to add to the moment.

If the yamper wanted pets, Genesis was the one that would give pets to him and more. The electric canine pushed into her touch, the breeder more than willing to give him all the attention he desired. The smile widened across her deep red glossy lips, a small chuckle escaped her as the little yamper ended up on his back and wiggling even more. It was so adorable. That was, until the blonde haired man approached and her attention was back on him.[break][break]

“I never heard of that one,” the raven haired woman openly admitted in return to his being late statement, even offering a slight chuckle in return when he laughed, “I suppose I should write that one down for when I accidentally show up late to something again.” Though, Genesis was sure it wasn’t going to be a good excuse regardless of what she was late for. Still, it was a good little joke to have in the back pocket.[break][break]

His hand extended out, a gesture the woman who was raised in a wealthy family knew all too well. And to this, Genesis shook her head in a tiny no but held her soft smile. “It’s alright. I’ll hold onto my backpack. Thanks though.” It was a small backpack anyway, crammed with god knows what. Yes, she could get a bigger one but this little mini backpack had little growlithes all over it. She loved it too much to get a bigger one.[break][break]

“Oh yeah,” Genesis replied to his most recent statement about the house, pausing to offer another soft chuckled, “That’s nice of your pokemon to do that for you. I actually kind of did the same thing. I have been so busy lately that it’s been hard to keep up with everything, including house cleaning. Miku, my indeedee, has turned into my house maid when I’m away.” The breeder was actually thinking of getting her a cleaning partner, a minccino, to help her out. It was a pretty big house to clean after all and with all her pokemon, it probably was a lot on such a small and young pokemon. “Not that it matters probably, but tell them they are doing very well.” This was her attempt at being playful, and failing horribly. She could feel her awkwardness rising. Oh dear.

Lars chuckled at his guests words, nodding to her and tilting his head from side to side as he settled himself on the sofa until he was comfy. "Consider it a gift, makes sense someone should use it, doesnt quite work for me" the male said, smirking a little as he did before he broke in to a small laugh and gestured down at himself for good measure on top.

He did raise an eyebrow at her comment on keeping her bag close, though he also knew plently of woman who could not be pried away from their handbags and a backpack was basically that for someone with less money or less attachment to things which were shiny and labeled. Nodding to her comment, he instead let her go on and focused on her pokemon comment, making it much clearer he raised an eyebrow for that one.

"An indeedee? And here i thought you were all about the canines, consider me shocked" he said with a chuckle again, leaning forwards on the chair to reach out for his glass and pull it close. "Im learning all sorts of things now, ok, so what pokemon do you have, if not all puppies?" he questioned, lifting his glass to take a sip with a curious but playful look quickly moving over his face.

This wasn’t so bad. Right? Casually talking. Right? Everything is fine. Right?[break][break]

A soft smile spread across the raven haired woman’s lips, left hand rose to tuck some loose hair behind her left ear. A nervous habit. “Oh so it’s true,” the woman started, green orbs watched as he reached for his glass and leaned back in place. Genesis copied, reaching for the other glass that already had some liquid in it and settling back in place. “Someone told me it was pretty obvious that I favored canine like pokemon over others,” Genesis began, pausing only to take a small sip of the liquor before continuing with a light chuckle, “I guess I’m an open book then.”[break][break]

Again, the woman paused to take another small sip. She could feel the warmth of the liquid in her throat, though it was out weighted by the sweetness of whatever it was mixed with. “You are correct. I have mostly puppies. I hope to be a successful breeder one day, pokemon of the canine like to be my specialty.” For a moment, she thought about explaining what she meant by this. Something along the lines of how trainer like specific types of pokemon and how it’s kind of the same idea. However, surely Lars was smart enough to understand. She moved on.[break][break]

“I don’t have too many, honestly. A trapinch I won from this games in the Plaza. A zigzagoon that needed a home. Tesla, my electrike, got involved with someone else pokemon and I was given one of the offspring. A shinx. I have a meowth and a purloin… Dratini. My favorite dragon type pokemon. Indeedee as you know. Shulian Sentret who helps me with the eggs. Oh! A super rare pokemon called musburry. I have never seen one before so that’s super exciting. Then, Rufflet.” It was clear she was proud of her bunch of pokemon, even if they weren’t canine. And in the attempt to keep the conversation going, she throw it back at him. “What type of pokemon do you tend to favor?”

There it was, the woman leaned over and took the glass he had left for her, the man watching her as she spoke with curious eyes before he grinned as she went on. "Hey, i have expensive taste and apparently that shows too. Nothing wrong with being unashamedly who you are" he said, holding up his glass as if to tap it to hers, across the air. "Do you like it? Its the closest thing i can find to a drink we used to have back in Galar in my time there, "Zacian's Fever" it was called though i can't find the right flowers to get the sweetness to quite offset the dryness yet. Not the best name, i know, but what can you do when raised on Knights and their stories" the man asked at first, going on to explain himself in the hope a chatter about something totally off topic might put the other trainer at ease.

As the woman went on, Lars tried to list off a few of the names she offered and found for the most part only a few stood out. The dragon was impressive, he knew a lot of those due to their weakness to his god but also the mouse, his eyes even widdened at that one. "Oh? Musburry? I do know that one, i have a Peppit myself you see" he said, smirking as he explained before lifting his drink up again and allow the quiet of that statement to settle.

"I never had a type, well, with pokemon. I always told people i favored fairy types as a child, though im rather stepped way from that over time. Dark types i guess, though its not a purposeful thing, seeing as I adore Starlight and shes anything but. I guess my type of pokemon are....exclusive, hard to come by, and therefore, a challenge. Both to own and to train, says a lot, doesnt it" he answered after his pause with a small chuckle, looking over to the staircase where he knew most of his pokemon were likely lurking or waiting, noting Dashie trotted in that direction as the humans spoke and the focus moved on from himself whereas the two females merely settled on their own sofa and curled in to one and other.

The drink was tasty to say the least, trying to remember the last time she actually had a real alcoholic drink. And to that, it has been a very long time. “It’s good to me,” she chimed in sweetly, taking in another sip to show she did enjoy it, “And I don’t think it’s a silly name.” The woman paused, playfully holding the drink up like it was some kind of astounding trophy or something. She seen changed her voice to sound more booming announcer like. “Zacian’s Fever.” Genesis let out a light chuckle to her own little joke, returning back to her former position once the moment was over.[break][break]

It was after her babble about all the other pokemon she currently owned, did Lars speak again. Genesis taking another small sip of the drink before replying herself. “A peppit?” She questioned, brows rose in peak curiosity to this newest development, “I never heard of that one either. What are they like?” She was such a pokemon nerd and it really showed here.[break][break]

Sipping on her drink, it was interesting to learn about what type of pokemon other people liked. Sometimes, like Genesis, it is clear that like specific kind of pokemon while others don’t have a favorite. Lars seemed to favor those of harder to come by, rare pokemon or pokemon that you don’t hear about too often. Maybe, she could learn more about pokemon she hasn’t heard of before. See. This was a good idea. Why was she so nervous? Pshh.[break][break]

“You like what you like,” the raven haired woman started, offering a small smile and light chuckle, “There are so many pokemon out there and its only natural to like some more than others. And if it’s the challenge that you like, it just means you like to push the boundaries of your own limits. That’s a good thing.” She wished she could do that. Get out of her comfort zone. Lars what lucky to be able to do that.

Lars laughed at the womans display, using the movement to shift himself so he was sitting back a little more and he could feel his shirt straining over his chest a little. He was well practise at this, he knew his cues. "Oh really? Well Peppit in principle are fire and grass type pokemon, a fun little combo which leads to keen gardeners with a protective side and habit of competition between their works. Pippin on the other hand, well" the man explained before he paused, lifting his drink again and taking a fairly large and noticing swig from it this time.

"I love the boy, hes keen and easy to get going and hes determined. It's all good, however, he has an eye for chaos and likes to test things and see how far they can be pushed or pulled....add in flames and suddenly, a walk in the park is burning down a childs slide" the man went on, rolling his eyes as he spoke and telling just enough of the truth to explain his pokemon but equally, sell the over excited child he tried to pretend the menace was. As she went on, he nodded to her words again and lifted his glass, drinking to them as his gaze came to focus on her eyes once more.

It seems that Lar’s too, admired her little joke about the beverages’ mighty name. And to this, it made Genesis feel a little more at ease with hm. It was hard for her to be comfortable around most strangers, especially with her being ‘on the run’ from her former life in more ways than one. After all, you never know someone and their true intentions no matter what the case. However, his participation in her little ticks made her feel more at home.[break][break]

The raven haired woman’s expression turned a little more serious when he began to explain or describe this Peppit pokemon. Her curiosity was peaked, Lar’s having her full uninvited attention while another more sips as he spoke. “Oh my,” she exclaimed, picturing quite literally a cute little pokemon by her side only to suddenly see a children’s park up in flames. She shook her head, literally, to get that image out of her head. “That sounds like you do have your hands full. I’m curious of all of them are like that or if, you just got one that seems to be a little more fiery than others.” Again, she let small light chuckles as she spoke. Smiling ear to ear, feeling the alcoholic drink loosing her up more and more by each passing minute.

Chuckling as his company spoke, the blonde rolled his shoulders a little as he replied to her. "Now now, a gentleman must never kiss and tell" he said with a small laugh and slight wink to the other trainer, grinning now as he went on. "Ones line of work and ones past is their own, until and unless they wish to share it and employment history is so not the thing for freinds to get down to when first chatting. Favorite pokemon? Sure. The nicest sort of weather? I guess. The type of pokemon which one finds the hardest to train? Such a fun debate. The best way to spend a cold and wet day? Always a fun one" the man went on, carefully pushing the conversation in the direction which might be the most useful to him, and the most fun at the same time.

As she asked about his pokemon, the man was honest for the moment and allowed his shoulders to shurg. "Im not sure, truth be told i've never even heard of the species before Pippin and haven't ever known another to compare. I think he is one of a kind, but dont all proud pokemon trainer say that about their own team? My Starlight after all is her very own kind of magic, im sure you feel the same about your own little ones" the man went on, both trying to answer the question she offered and side stepping it to put the focus back on to her in the same breath.

Whether it was his skills in smooth talking or the alcohol dropping her guard, Genesis couldn’t tell at this point in time. The only thing she knew right now, was Lar’s seemed to be a nice fellow and someone easy to talk to. It has been quite sometime since that last time she sat down and just spoke to someone, naturally not really the type to be social unless forced too. However, it felt like Lar’s could be another friend for her. Much like Akira, someone she could count on if she needed them.[break][break]

Sipping her drink, the breeder let out a small chuckle at his little bit about not revealing their past to possible up and coming friends. And in all honestly, she was thankful that Lar’s didn’t want to talk about it. The last thing Genesis wanted to do, was bring up her down past. It was something she wasn’t proud of, something she really didn’t want anyone to know about. After all, how would he react to such a thing? A wealthy runaway wife who had it all, but chose to walk away from it in favor to follow her down path. Many would disagree with her life choices, but it wasn’t their life to pick.[break][break]

It’s the bond that matters really.” As she spoke, she left like her sentence didn’t make sense or at least she was getting off topic or something. But, she ignored it and continued. “Oh yes. Each and every one of them are spacial in their own way, some more than others. And just like humans, they vary from pokemon to pokemon….” She tried off.

There it was. Lars's eyes seemed to glimmer as he noticed the drink of the other trainer slowly lowering, the man waiting until she spoke again to rise from his seat in a fluid way which suggested a little off balance movement here and a little tipsy side there but all the same he moved over to his guest and paused beside her. Leaning one arm down so he was leaning on the back of the sofa, but also, his arm was very much behind her shoulder and resting there, he smiled down to her.

"A top up for the lady?" he asked, his voice curious alongside being playful before she went on and he found himself nodding. "I must admit, i do find myself looking for for the different. Normal is so boring, been done before and so basic. Give me something no one has heard of, or that has been hidden from the world. Or better yet, combine two things. Beautiful and powerful? How could one say no?" he replied, that edge to his tone back once again as he leaned in to his charming self and was very careful not to state if he was speaking about pokemon, or people.
