Psywave There are two methods of calculating damage for this move. For each thread you plan on using psywave you should pick one of these methods and stick with it until the end of the thread- you may not switch between methods in the middle of a thread/battle. Method 1: Set the base damage equal to your level (EG 5 BP for a level 5 Pokemon), similar to seismic toss. Method 2: Use the formula (level) x (roll + 50) / 100.
For example: for a level 5 Pokemon, the formula for psywave damage would be (5) x (34 (example roll) + 50) / 100), which would be 4.2 rounded down to 4. Meanwhile, the maximum roll (100) at level 5 would be 7.5 rounded up to 8.
Decimals should always be rounded to the nearest whole number. Damage for psywave is always a minimum of 1 HP and a maximum of 1.5x the Pokemon's level, rounded to the nearest whole number. DzX8EV9t

How do Protect and Detect work on Shula? Alright, this is been discussed before in several places but to clear it up officially.... Either of these moves take your whole turn, this means no other attack, you merely spend the turn defending yourself mentally or psychically. It also means any move used on you will fail, aka is Stan uses ember of charmander and Pollys ralts uses protect, ember and any other move will fail. Using the move back to back needs a roll, it's been decided that the first time, 25 or below is a fail, the second, 50, the third 75 and over that it would remain at 75.

Are Hidden Power's type and power random, or how are they determined?

Are Hidden Power's type and power random, or how are they determined? They are decided by roll, if you buy a pokemon with HP in the EMP or buy the move from Osbert, the mod should roll there and if one is bred in Alvin's then it should be generated there too. Anywhere else, just tag my account and I'll come roll and find out for you.

Excuse me, how does Disable work in terms of Shula?
Much like in the games themselves within Shula itself Disable causes the targeted pokemon to be incapable of using the move it were used upon for four turns - sure it is true that a pokemon is able to use two moves (Status move and Attack move) in one turn so whichever one of this is used last is disabled. Example: Pidgey uses Sand Attack then Tackle, while Psyduck uses Disable. Since Tackle was used last this move would be disabled for 4 turns (or until the end of the battle if either pokemon is defeated before being able to regain the use of the move) Also if it were the status move used second then it would be this attack that would be disabled, alternatively if the target pokemon only uses one move during its turn then this move becomes Disabled. I hope this has been helpful for you

The same way as the game, for 2 turns you are rooted to the spot taking all the damage that comes at you before on the third turn you can expel all this damage doubled in your own attack back at the other pokemon. You cannot use any other moves in this time since you are locked in to bide once you pick it and as all moves in Shula, it could be dodged by the other pokemon if they have been battling fairly.

Please remember that, to keep things fair, Speed, Evasion and Accuracy are not stats we have here on Shula. You can RP them out- for example, if your Pokemon uses sand attack your opponent could say it stings their eyes and makes their attack miss -but in the sense of fairness, these 100% accuracy moves and one-hit KO moves dont work the same here. Do you wanna fight a Pokemon with 5 moves that never miss who forces all your moves to miss, is too fast to ever be hit, and then uses a one-hit KO move anyway? Neither do we.

While it seemed to have been re-worded in a somewhat confusing manor, this still stands. 1 hit KO moves do not work in shula, as in they simply do not succeed if a pokemon tries to use them for the very reasons stated above.

Pardon me, but how does Electro Ball work? The move itself is based on speed, and since there's no speed in Shula, that's a problem.

Indeed it is, based on the below screenshot the move would have a BP of 1 and seeing as we dont use speed here because of how posting and turns work, that would be all the move gets. Of course you can +/- for stab or raising or lowering stats, but thats it

asking it here 'cause it's a common grass type move, but in the games, Growth awards a single stage increase in attack AND special attack.
would this translate on shula as a just one attack bonus (since they're combined) or as two stages (because it's two different increases + previous generations had it as JUST a special attack increase)
thank you in advance!

Shula has both Sp and Atk as of a little while ago so both do get raised, one in each since the split was campaigned for by some other members
