Telepathy, on this board, is defined as using psychic powers to communicate by ways other than speaking or any form of visible communication.
- Only certain pokemon can use Telepathy, being most Psychic types, any pokemon with the ability Telepathy, and a few other instances here and there. If you have a question as to whether a pokemon may use Telepathy or not, ask a Staff member.
Some things to remember:
- To quote the Rules thread, 'No Power playing'. Meaning, if another member does not want your character seeing inside their head they are not allowed to see inside their head. That would be considered God-Modding.
- Someone new at Telepathy will have a much harder time getting through to another person/pokemon.
- The stronger a bond the two beings trying to communicate share, the easier it is to communicate.
- Higher evolutions have an easier time using Telepathy.
- The pretense of a Dark-, Ghost-, or fellow Psychic- type may cause a disruption in Telepathy
- Steel disrupts and/or blocks Telepathy, in addition, if near something that causes fear to the pokemon, it may either disrupt (cannot concentrate) or help (Tries to block out the fear) Telepathy.
- Whole messages do not need to be sent, feelings and thoughts may be sent. In addition, just because a whole message has been sent does not mean the other person will understand the whole message, for a new user, or with a non-bonded person, it isn't uncommon for only one or two words to get through out of a sentence.
- If someone is actively trying to block the pokemon out, then there will be a much harder time getting through.
- It is much easier to send a one-way signal than to read minds. ie. Broadcasting your message is easier than reading minds.
A list of non-traditional pokemon that can use Telepathy is below:
- Zorua/Zoroark
- Ask a staff member if there's a pokemon you think should be added.
Telekinesis, is defined here as using brain-power to pick up and/or move objects. No physical contact is used in this process.
- Only certain pokemon can use Telekinesis, being most Psychic types and a few other instances here and there. If you have a question as to whether a pokemon may use Telekinesis or not, ask a Staff member.
- Also, Psychic-type Gijinka can use Telekinesis to a minor extent. The way they increase this power is the same as the way pokemon do it. Although they will never reach the same potential as their pokemon counterpart.
Some things to remember:
- When a pokemon first starts it will hardly be able to move a pebble, let alone anything bigger.
- Practice practice practice. It's the only way you'll get better.
- Steel objects are harder to move with Telekinesis.
- The pokemon may not move another character without being nearly master levels in Telekinesis, AND having express permission from that member.
