LEO XANDER LOCKWARD Leo observed the Pansage as it was clearly attempting to explain what was going on. Frustratingly for Leo, he was not versed in communicating with pokemon just yet so he could only provide a sympathetic look as he cradled the robotic pokemon in his arms.
Turning to Hallie, she clearly wanted to say something to Leo's words but held back. She eventually began to talk, although unsure whether she was directing her speech to him, the teen was in agreement with her words. Getting the dent out of the pokemon would be the first port of call. Only then should they begin to look at healing the pokemon, if they were able to find anything to enable them to do so.
"You're right." the dark haired male spoke as he walked over to the younger girl, and lowering the Beldum to the ground softly. "Any ideas on how we should deal with the dent?" he pondered, as his eyes darted around their surroundings trying to find anything that may assist.
Thinking further he looked Hallie. "I have an oran berry, but it seems of little use if this little guy can't eat it." he began to talk once more while stroking his chin in thought. "If a powdered substance did this, could we turn something we have into powder?" the thoughts of his own would eventually begin to slip.
Turning his gaze to the Pansage. "How about you little guy? Do you know anywhere we could find some healing items?"

The Pansage was at a loss as to what to do to help his friend. This was understandable, since he was only a humble primate, and a Beldum wasn't quite the same as many other living beings, what with its metallic body. Perhaps the two humans would know something about treating injured Steel Pokemon, but otherwise, he seemed kind of screwed.
Fortunately, Hallie seemed to have a fairly solid idea as to what to do. If they could fix the dent somehow, that'd have to improve the Beldum's health to some extent, right? Maybe, but that meant the group would have to figure out how to fix the dent.
"Well, I only know a little about metal," the Pansage admitted. "I think if you heat up metal, you can shape it. Is that true? Because if so, then maybe that could work...but then again, Dummy is part Steel, and they don't like heat, so..." Despite the Pansage's lack of precise knowledge, he at least knew something about how metal worked. If the trainers had any input on the subject, then they could probably chime in with other ways to fix the dent, though they'd still need whatever items were necessary. Just by looking around, Leo could see that there were some loose items nearby, including some rocks embedded in the ground, as well as some loose branches and leaves from the surrounding trees. Actually, there were quite a few leaves and small branches that looked like they came loose when the Beldum crashed into that tree!
Still, it was possible that there was more that could be found within the jungle. Perhaps even something that could undo the damage caused to the Beldum like magic. As Leo questioned the Pansage on this matter, the Grass monkey put his knowledge of the Stillwood Jungle to the test.
"I know sometimes, you can find natural remedies here and there. Roots, herbs, all that stuff. Problem is, that stuff is usually picked up really quickly by whoever finds it. If you wanna try going out and finding that stuff, then go for it. Otherwise, we could try getting the dent out, or...whatever else you think could work."

Hallie winced as she was asked how to handle the dent, she had an idea but it was the idea she as a breeder knew was a good one but not an easy one. "To fix a broken bone growing the wrong way, you have to re-break it" she muttered softly, turning her head to look to sunburst as she spoke to find him standing over his little brother, but nodding slowly. How on earth they did that with a pokemon made of metal, she was unsure, before it hit her.
"Wait, metal. And hes out for the count already?" she thought out loud, shuffling closer to leo and moving her hands over his to look over the dent herself. "Metal moulds better when its warm, its why steel types and fire types dont work super great together. Maybe we could do that" she offered, turning her head to the red flaming mane of her ponyta as he began to stutter out a soft "ummmm" behind them.
Moments later, the pansage went on to speak and hallie looked to him, sunburst reddening seconds later as he repeated back hallies own idea and the breeder grinned a smug grin and then nodded to him. "See, oh, right" she started before she repeated her pokemons words, or rather his version of the pansages words, to leo. "If we dont want to do it directly to him, then i do know a trick!" she said, turning around where she sat and throwing out an arm.
Her fingers dug over the ground, pulling the first stone she could up and holding it out. After a moments paused and quiet, she realized what she had done and began to explain. "When you cook with rocks, you heat them up and then put the rocks in a hole, putting food over it to roast for hours and they keep it warm without the fire. Maybe if we head a rock and use that to try and press the dent out, instead of just using the heat right on a steel type, it could work and offers the pressure to move metal!" the girl explained, going right on in to her rambling idea without even a pause for breath. | OOC | tag

LEO XANDER LOCKWARD Leo flinched slightly at Hallie's initial idea to repair the dent on the Beldum. The thought of causing more damage to the pokemon wasn't something Leo was too keen on doing, although he guessed if there was a time to carry out such a manoeuvre, it would be while the robot was unconscious and unaware of the pain.
Trying to come to terms with that solution, he heard Hallie mumble something before the young girl approached him and began to inspect the Beldum for herself. She began to speak about metal being slightly more maliable when exposed to heat, which is when Leo finally clocked on to what she was implying. The teen pondered for a moment before the Pansage began conversing once more.
Seemingly all three of them were reaching the same conclusion, although next came the part of how exactly they would do it. Steel type pokemon were weak to fire types and therefore directly using fire type moves on the Beldum could be more detrimental than beneficial, however Hallie seemingly had a solution to that too!
After moments of digging Hallie had lifted a rock up and began to explain about cooking with rocks and the process of how it works. It was genius!
"Hey, that's a great idea! We each have fire types so they can help to heat the rocks up!" the teen chirped excitedly as he turned towards the Pansage and Ember. "Hey, you two!" he called over to them. Ember cocked her head slightly looking to her trainer waiting on what he had to say next.
"We need to gather some rocks together!" he spoke, in an almost bossy tone. The young Vulpix nodded in acknowledgement and shuffled herself towards where Hallie was placed and slowly began digging up what she could.
"I hope this works!"

Hallie's plan to treat the Beldum's dent like a broken bone seemed to make some sense to the Pansage, though the manner in which they'd have to do so definitely bothered the little guy. Fire and Steel didn't mix, just like with Fire and Grass, so the idea of using fire to fix his Steel-type friend sounded dangerous at best. The last thing Dummy needed was more bodily harm.
Fortunately, Hallie had an interesting insight which caught the Pansage's attention. "You can cook with rocks?" he asked in astonishment. "And without flames, too? How come I've never heard that before? That sounds great!"
It sounded like the Pansage was on board with Hallie's approach. Looking at the two humans' entourage, there were a couple of obvious fire users, one of which had literal flames on its body, so getting the necessary heat sounded easy. And, of course, if they could apply heat to the Beldum, minus the fire, then that could very well have worked, as far as the small monkey was aware.
Upon Leo's command, the Pansage went all in on the group's plan of action. He dug out whatever stones he could find nearby, whether they be large or tiny, and put them in a rather messy-looking pile. After a bit of work, he himself had amassed an okay quantity of stones, though with Ember's half of the work, they'd probably have enough to work with.
"Okay, this is the last one I can see around here," he said, placing down his last stone. "I hope this is enough. Just...be careful, okay?"

Hallie could feel the focus of the group move on to her and within seconds of having been so proud of herself, she was suddenly so embarrassed. "Its just...my uncle would...when my parents travelled as kids. He cooked, they'd battle, it took a while so he'd make..." she stammered out, half explaining herself before leo seemed to take the moment to take charge and she turned to her own fire type.
"We have one stone now, can you try heating it up and keeping it warm while they find some more?" she asked the ponyta, setting her stone down as she shuffled herself to try and move out of the way. Sunburst seemed uneasy but as the other pokemon began to come back, all sorts of stones in their grasp, he took a breath and nodded.
With that, hallie began to sort through the stones, trying to find the largest ones which were flat or as a flat as one can hope a stone could be, and then laying them out in front of her ponyta who was breathing, careful, flames down over each of them and trying to keep them warm. A gentle hiss in the air told hallie idea was working, though, how they picked them up was going to be an issue. "I figure if we put one flat stone above the dent, and one below it, it'll press out, right?" she thought out loud as she worked, focusing on the stones rather than looking to the rest of the group. | OOC | tag

LEO XANDER LOCKWARD Ember dashed around the area digging up as many rocks as she could and delivering them to where the young Hallie was standing with her Ponyta who had made a start on heating the rocks up. The Pansage was following suit, seemingly in agreement with the groups new plan of action.
Leo had heard the younger girl begin to speak of her uncle whilst he was coordinating the teams efforts to assist the Beldum. He decided he could take a moment to pause and speak with the young girl. "So what was it your uncle would make?" he queried softly, smiling as he crouched down to help her sort through the rocks that the other pokemon were slowly gathering up.
The young girl came up with the suggestion of placing a flat rock both above and below the dent in the Beldum to allow the heat to pull the dent out. The teen nodded in agreement before looking at the pile. "Perhaps we can craft something to hold the rocks in place?" he suggested looking around for ideas of things they could use.
"Either that, or we place the rocks both sides and we place the Beldum in between them once we've heated them up enough? That would save us the hassle of trying to lift burning rocks" he pondered aloud. He knew they had to do something sooner rather than later to help the poor Beldum he was still cradling in his arms.
"Hey Ember. Why don't you try to help out Sunburst with hearing the rocks?"

Hallie Narina Leo Lockward After a bit of work, it was starting to look like the group had the materials they'd need to proceed. However, there were still a few things that needed to be worked out first. Though Hallie could find a couple of rocks with decently flat surfaces, how they'd be using them to apply heat to the dent still needed to be worked out. If they could effectively squeeze it out, then that'd be great, but they'd still need to figure out how to work with the heated stones without burning themselves, among other things.
Listening to the two trainers' discussion and eager to find a solution, the Pansage began taking some of the spare rocks they'd collected and took them with him in front of the rock pile as it was being heated. It looked a bit odd, whatever he was doing, but after a while, it looked like he was able to balance a couple of them on the pile and hold them in place with some smaller rocks in his hands.
"Like this? We could take the flat rocks, put the dent in-between them, and use these non-heated rocks to...press down on them? Does that make sense?"
He himself seemed a bit unsure about his pitch, and it showed. He put down the rocks he'd used, wincing a bit as he accidentally grazed some of the rocks in the pile which had managed to rise to a decently-high temperature. The Pansage had an idea, at the very least, but whether the trainers agreed with it would be up to them. Hallie tilted her head a little as Leo asked his question, pausing to try and remember the work her uncle used when he spoke of that meal before she sighed. "Its got a name, its a little funny or weird but its not a name from home because his family werent from there. We always just knew it as B-BBQ when i was little, i guess, i didnt learn the name because i always heard that and just....assumed it was that" the breeder admitted as she thought out loud, her focus moving from her memories to the present as he spoke again.
Honestly, she was unsure what to do next but it wasnt until sunburst spoke again, or rather the pansage did and sunburst then translated, that the breeder grinned and nodded. "I think that sounds smart, if we lay him in the middle and then try to use the rocks, seems a good idea" she said, trying to pair up both the ideas of the males around her and waiting to see if Leo would take the lead on this. | OOC | tag

| LEO XANDER LOCKWARD | APP || PC || PLOTTER | WORDS: 227 || TAG: Gigalith Hallie Narina | Leo listened to the younger girl as she explained that her uncle would use the rocks as a form of a barbecue. He hummed for a moment as he smiled softly at her. "Oh I see! Maybe you are thinking of coal that they use normally?" the teen wondered aloud before shaking the thought as they had more important things to worry about.
The small monkey pokemon who had clearly been taking on board what the human pair were discussing as he began to gather a few stones of his own and placing them in a specific formation before sharing his explanation with the group.
As he listened to Hallie passing on the translation, Leo smiled excitedly. "Great idea!" he chirped as he slowly moved towards the Pansage and softly placing the robotic pokemon down onto the ground. He quickly helped the pokemon place the rocks around the injured robot before standing up and looking to Hallie.
"Okay, so hopefully, the heat will pull the dent out..." he spoke softly before turning to Pansage. "I think you better stand back now so that the fire types can do their thing!" he suggested as he indicated for the Pansage to move over to where the humans were standing, just far enough back to avoid the flames.
Ember soon took the initiative and stepped up, generating a burst of fire towards the rocks. |

Hallie Narina Leo Lockward With the two trainers taking the reins, the Pansage agreed to Leo's request, stepping back a bit to allow them to continue heating up the rock pile. The little guy didn't seem too happy with having to watch on the sidelines, but he wasn't complaining, either. Presumably, he was as nervous about getting too close to such heat as the next Grass-type would be. In regards to the rock pile itself, as further fire was applied to it, the effects became increasingly noticeable. Quite a few of the stones looked rather charred, and the strong heat emanating from it only became stronger. After a good while, the stone pile would become almost uncomfortably hot, and Pansage would find himself speaking up from the sidelines. " Be careful with that heat," he advised. " And don't melt Dummy! All you need to do is get that one part of him hot." This advice wasn't entirely unwarranted, as by that point, the rocks were getting particularly hot, and the last thing the trainers needed to do was get the Beldum melted. That being said, it was getting to about the point where pressing the dent out would be in order, so the trainers would need to see to that themselves. Allowing leo the lead, the breeder replied to his comments rather than trying to take over the jobs they had come up with. "No, it was always stones. When i was small he had a vulpix too, but she evolved when i got a little bit bigger and when he had my cousin. But all the same, she would use moves like sunburst did and heat up the rocks, sometimes she even would curl up on them or something like that to warm them up and then we'd all go out for the day, go places and do things, and leave the food to cook being watched over by his Graveller underground" she explained, her mind jumping back to so many BBQ's with her uncle and aunt, and later, her cousin with them too.
Sunburst in this time took leo's comment, aiding the vulpix heating up the stones before the grass type spoke and he winced. He repeated the words, kicking a few off the stones with his front hooves and finding that even a fire type with hooves made to resist heat found them pretty warm at this stage. Hallie took a moment to snap from her thoughts but when she did, she repeated the words to leo and then nodded to him encouragingly, waiting on their idea to work or fail. | OOC | tag

| LEO XANDER LOCKWARD | APP || PC || PLOTTER | WORDS: 234 || TAG: Hallie Narina Gigalith | Leo listened intently to the young girl who explained what she meant relating to the BBQs she would have as a child. The teen couldn't help but offer a warm smile to Hallie whilst nodding in acknowledgement. "That sounds really great!" he came to speak softly before turning back to the work being undertaken by their pokemon.
The Pansage had began providing his own advice which Hallie would come to translate to Leo. A small frown creased Leo's face as he watched intently for a few moments. "Right, I guess the moment of truth!" he spoke sternly before taking a step closer to the Beldum.
"Now he's going to be far too hot for me to touch. Could you guys pull him away from the rocks and try to push the dent out?" he would query with the pokemon applying the heat.
Ember looked to her trainer for a moment before nodding and moving in to grab the robot pokemon with her front paws, trying to gently drag it away from the heat source.
Although a fire type, even Ember felt the heat emanating from the steel body of the Pokemon and it was slightly uncomfortable. Nevertheless, she began making efforts to press out the dent, whilst wincing every now and then from the heat.
"Perhaps you guys could take it in turns so you don't burn yourselves too much?" Leo pondered looking at the group around him. |

Leo Lockward Hallie Narina
With the stone pile sufficiently heated, applying the necessary pressure to press out the dent was the next logical step. Of course, doing so would prove a bit hazardous to do by hand. With the heat being enough to be felt a short distance away, actually placing one's hands, paws, or what have you onto any of the stones would be uncomfortable at best. Still, the Pansage looked somewhat optimistic about the whole ordeal.
"That's good, keep it up. Just, I dunno, take turns? Or maybe just use something that won't get burned. Doesn't matter what."
That advice, though vague, was fairly accurate. Even those with a natural resistance to high heat would feel the effects of direct contact, so really it'd be up to those properly equipped to either figure out a turn order to find a more painless way to keep applying pressure.
In either case, continuing onwards would certainly be the best choice as, if one were to pay close attention, the dent on the Beldum in question, though still present, was definitely starting to look a little smaller. Perhaps with a bit more work, it'd disappear entirely.

Sunburst nodded to the male trainer as he offered the advice of taking turns, the pokemon waiting until the vulpix seemed to wince just a little too much and then nudging her in the side and moving to try and take her place with his hooves to try and take as much as of the heat as he could.
Hallie for her part couldn't help much, merely watching and shifting herself to wrap her hands around her knees as she did so. She watched the ponyta as he worked and waited, they only really had that to do now seeing as the metal would take its time and they just had to hope it would aid with the dent. | OOC | tag

Important Info
Season
Good news, Autumn is here! The sticky heat of the summer is finally gone, but the bad news? Its gotten very cold very fast. Berrys have fallen early from their perches, fruit and food is getting caught in snap frosts and icy mornings and this is leading to very cold mornings, pokemon getting desprate quickly and dark and chilly evenings
Next season change ~ May 20th
Swarming Pokemon!
Encouraged Characters
Currently, our character numbers are pretty even, so aside from us gently encouraging more civilians and breeders...go nuts!
Numbers of Gijinka on site have dropped, too, so they're open to be applied for at the moment- though, if you're interested, go check out the adoptable threads for many wanted ones! They could always use players! ;-)
