| ☽ Luna Sallow ☾ ☠ There's two sides to every story ☠ Luna was taking a rare moment to spend some time with her elder pokemon, and those a little less hard work. She had agreed to a battle, well she had put out a posting to get Valla and Minnow some work and someone had taken her at her word and come to her with a double battle offer no less. She hadnt been expecting that, and she was unsure how the duo would fare beside one and other but she was curious to try it.
With that, and the rain the morning had brought, she was back to the river where she had met another gijinka recently and had been planning on working on herself when she caught her pokemon. Dorran was happily hiding out below a tree nearby, Minnow splashing in the water and Valla watching over him like a bodyguard as she knew she would need him to battle soon.
No, her focus was on her other pokemon. Makani of course was adoring the rain, flittering back and forth in the water around her but Ray, one of the quietest pokemon on her team was following along behind her, stories of how rain was different in different places and how it effected plants differently following in her wake while below them, Niko was slowly puffing up small frosty breaths and making droplets of frozen rain drop and litter around his paws. |

A battling opportunity. Sue tugged his hat further down his face. The brim kept some of the rain out of his face, but it was a fruitless endeavor. After their outing to Kai’s cabin, the coordinator had gained a new appreciation for the weather and Minilla had discovered that his evolved form not only allowed him potential access to more moves, but also allowed him to show Sue what he loved so much about natural bodies of water:
They were fun to swim through.
“YAHOOOO!”
Minilla jumped out of the water whilst Susanna clung to the water type’s horn. The man laughed joyously. Yeah, alright, this was cool. No. That was understatement. This was fantastic!! He was soaked, but he’d made sure to wear clothes that were easy enough to dry. As he spotted a party waiting beneath a tree, he patted Minilla’s side.
“I think those are our battle partners, buddy!”
The milotic switched gears, coming to a stop int he water. “Got it!” More calmly now, he swam to shore. There, the serpent slithered onto the rock shore. Susanna stepped off, legs feeling a bit like jelly after the ride. He thanked his pokemon before releasing two more.
Koda squeaked at the sensation of rain, but found the careful oiling on top of his no routine perfuming kept his wings and fluff from getting too soaked. Adeen, meanwhile, put her legs on Sue’s legs. She knew the routine here.
The man let out a sigh of relief, letting the growlithe’s warm soak into his skin.
“You’re so warm…!”
Carrying the growlithe was easy enough. It helped that she was smaller than average. With his party either being carried by him or following, he walked over to Luna and her crew.
Switching his grip on the pup to balance her weight on one of his hips, he used his free hand to wave. “Hey! We’re supposed to meet up for a double battle, right?”
Adeen tilted her head. “... Say, that furfrou looks sort of like Eugene, right?”
The woobat snuffled the air with his heart shaped nose. “Oh! Smells like ‘im, too! Er, but not? Sort of. Hm…”
“Different team,” Minilla reasoned, “lots of scents mixing.” Not that the water type had as good of a sniffer as the other two.
