From The Darkness Of The Nights

It was slow but over time, Kuda was finding the training he was doing on his own in the back garden was paying off. His found that he was able to train for longer and the fire he was able to create was getting hotter and hotter, something he was hoping would work in to his favor whenever the time for his first real gym battle came. The dark type paused at this thought, having woken up and trotted downstairs, this leaving him standing in the kitchen.

When was that first battle going to come? He kept asking himself that question week after week and while it felt like the time was getting further away, that didnt mean he could get lazy. This thought moving through his mind, he moved over to the grass of the garden and looked over it to find an area far enough away from the flowers, patio and lawn furniture before his back flared in to bright purple flames.

With that, he kicked his back legs out and then gave a small hiss of pain, he looked down as he rested his hooves downwards and found he was kicking off from an unsteady surface. As he ground himself again, he took a moment to take a breath and begin to stretch out correctly as he stood level on the grass.

Nix actually had taken a different pokemon to the dojo this week, the training telling her water type that she needed some time to rest. Of course ripley totally disagreed with this and it lead the white pokemon to wake up almost as soon as she heard the ranger leave for the game plaza and hindors town, sneaking down the stairs with all the stealth of a rampaging cufant. She reached the backdoor and it took a few good tries but she got it open after a while, dragging herself over the cold of the morning grass and down to the bottom of the garden.

Once she got there she found the slope she used to enter the river and it took a moment to angle herself right but she slid down it with a giggle before she splashed in to the waterway the cottage was named for. Twisting herself about, she swam down the water a little before she did a little flick of her fins and tail and then twisted and swam back as quickly as she could. It seemed she was doing a free swimming version of her laps from the dojo, though having to compete with a little bit of a current to do so.

The dark type had actually been sitting beside the door of the house waiting for her trainer to meet her when she spotted the redhead coming out of the side gate and rushing down the path away from the house, Hex confused at this before she worked out that she had to have taken someone else to the dojo in place of herself. This lead to a series of snarls and growls, though ended with shadow telling her to take her temper tantrum outside which the female did only because she knew most of the other pokemon in the house could more than easily handle her if she did start trying to have a moment.

Once out in the garden, and shooed away from the flowers by lila, the female sat down on the grass with a snarl again. She was meant to be the one being trained, why was nix taking someone else? Well sure, she hadn't made an effort with her by why should she? The trainer was meant to do that! This thought in her mind, she pushed it out of her head and in to the air in front of her before blasting it hard upwards in to the sky with a shout.

If the absol was totally and utterly honest with herself, something she had to admit she want to do or be, she was not happy with herself. She had tried her best to train like she had thought would work best in the back garden last week, it had not worked well and she had only succeeded in pulling something in one of her legs within a few moments of being out there and then had to come inside to lay in front of the fire to make it feel better.

Had she needed to be inside that long? Had she needed to take the next day away from training too? Most likely not but as nix and ripley headed off to hindors town again this week, the dark type was determined to prove she could do this. Thus, she crept down stairs as soon as she could and was outside in the garden in time to watch the sun rise. It was a nice sight but as the psychic type began to focus on moving plant pots around the small flower garden with her psychic powers, she could already feel this was going to be hard work.

Hex was in a little bit of an odd mood today, or rather she was thinking to herself and the way her mind was picking over her options was putting her in a weird mood. Nix had again offered her the chance to go with her to the dojo this week and again, Hex had all but told her to sling her hook when she replied. The ranger didnt seem to push it this week though, merely nodding and turning away, grabbing a different pokeball and heading off and out of the front door before the dark type really know what to do with herself.

Did she want to go? Did she want the ranger to try and fight for her to make her change her mind? She shook herself as she thought this, a wave of psychic energy shaking from her head with her as she did this and the pokemon had to quickly right herself and focus in order to send the waves in to a purer beam and blast it upwards and away from the flowers that the daft butterfree that seemed to all but live out here seemed to dote on. This was not what she had wanted! Truth be told, hex had only stopping going up to the dojo in hindors town for a pair of reasons, firstly to annoy her new trainer in the hope the woman would stop babying her and treat her like the adult the psychic type was convinced she was. The second however was that she didnt like spending time one on one with the trainer, or she hadn't at first, now that she was always being left at home in the house or given free reign to wander where ever and do whatever as long as she didnt upset anyone else, she was growing bored.

Was it boredom? Or loneliness? Of course she snapped at almost everyone on the team who tried to explain things to her or try to give her advice, she didnt need any of it after all, but as she stood outside in the light spitting's of the early morning rain, she did feel alone. Shadow and bolt were curled up beside one and other beside the fire place and tain was out here, but he was gardening with the butterfly pokemon. Sighing to herself, the absol decided on the spot to blame all of them, right before she began slicing down on the wet ground.

It was becoming clearer and clearer with every week that passed that hex may have misjudged her new trainer, or rather she had misjudged the way the team of pokemon the ranger had and worked with itself. She had come in to a group where the roles of each of the pokemon was somewhat set, who tended to do what and who tended to lead with certain issues or problems and even things like who slept where when they were all camping. Of course she had assumed this was because that redhead had trained them all this way and they were told or made to obey at first and now were used to it, after all that was what she had always been taught by her mother, only it seemed it wasnt right.

Weeks of seeing the redhead ask who wanted to go to the dojo had told her she didnt force it, ages of being outside and seeing whichever pokemon wanted to be there doing whatever told her there was freedom. In fact as she was outside and once more practiced her psychic attack on the tree at the end of the garden, she noted it was all her choice to do so.
