One of the locals told the breeder of this place that could help her train her pokemon. And although breeders aren’t really focused on their pokemon overall strength for battle, they do need to keep their pokemon in tip top condition with plenty of exercise for both the body and mind in order to produce top ranked off spring. With that in mind, Genesis found herself traveling from one side of Shula to the other in search for said place. And once she found this Dojo, the woman was quick to learn and quick to have her growlithe start his training.

“Okay,” the woman huffed in confidence, hands fell onto her hips to lean left then right in a stretching motion, “Sense neither of us have worked out in a way, why don’t we start by running.” The growlithe barked eagerness, bouncing on his paws in mini leaps. This made the woman smile, bending over to touch her toes when she felt her sides were flexible enough. The canine mimicked his humans’s movements, bowing with his booty in the air before leaning forward to stretch his hind legs. “Make sure you really stretch, Evo.”

After several minutes of the pair attempting to loosen their stiff muscles, the human’s glaze fell upon the canine. She smile, giving him a nod before she fell into a light trot. Evo barked, darting to keep up with his master by her side. Her jog was fast enough to force the pup into a light jog. Both could already feel themselves begin to break out in a sweat, the woman whipping her forward while the canine’s muzzle parted to begin panting. Their gaol was to jog for a few hours, building their endurance and get some blood pumping. Hopefully, this will pay off.

With his first battle being so successful, Evo the Growlithe was more pumped than ever to start his training. He barked repeated with enthusiasm, jumping in place while he waited for his master to get ready. “Okay. Okay. I’m moving. I’m moving. Geesh.” The growlithe bark again, twirling in place. Genesis chuckled, shaking her head at his new wave of determination that was making him a bigger pain than normal. “Come on boy.”

That’s all he was wanting for.

As soon as the door opened up, the canine launched himself forward into a run. It caught the breeder off guard, making her almost stumble out of the door in an attempt to catch up. “Hey,” she shouted, “Wait up!” Evo didn’t listen, he only continued to run. His legs flexed with ease, muzzle parted to let his tongue out in a pant. He wanted to get stronger, he wanted to be the best. Even if it meant he had to run all day until his legs went numb, he will be stronger.

It was that time of the week again to do some special training. However this time, it wasn’t going to be as easy as a run around the place. Genesis moved to the open battlefield were many trainer’s go to practice. Evo leaped back and forth on his paws, thrilled to start his actual training on battling. Taking in a deep breath, the breeder turned to her growlithe. Hands came together in a clap, both to indicate she was ready and to get her growlithe full attention. “Okay,” she started, thinking through mentally how she pictured this training should be, “We need to start getting you stronger. And before I spend you into a real battle against a trainer and pokemon, let’s practice your moves.” Evo barked, this tone more serious when he did. “Great!”

She faced an invisible opponent, hand rose to point in the direction she was facing. “We are going to pretend that we are going against a pokemon.” She green orbs turned more serious, focused on this imaginary opponent. “Get ready.” Evo barked, turning to face the direction his master was facing. “Alright. Go! Use Iron Tail!” The grolwithe let out another round of boisterous barks, leg muscles to thrust himself forward. And when he was at least half way down the field, he leaped into the air. His once cream fluffy tail began to shift. A white glow took over, swiftly turning into hard as steel. He whipped himself around, slashing the air with his iron tail before landing on his feet.

“Quick look out! Dodge that rock throw!”

Puzzled for a moment, Evo whipped hisemldf around preparing to move. And to his surprised, a decent rock was heading in his direction. However, it fell short. Landing several feet before him and rolling to his paws. Confused, he sniffed the rock. “You didn’t dodge.” His gaze lifted to see a disappointed master. Evo let out a snort, putting together that his master chucked a rock at him. “Let’s do that again.” Huffing, Genesis plucked another random rock on the ground before moving to her side of the field. Evo let out a growl mixed with a whine, moving to his position again. It was going to be a long annoying day if she was going be chucking rocks at him.

It was late in the week when Genesis finally found the time to do some special training with her ever growing pack. And despite the recent hatching of her cute little rockruff, the raven haired woman decided to work with her newest addition Teslo. Green orbs shifted to her feet at the thought of him, a soft smile tugged the edges of her deep red lips when he let out a soft low whine.

The green furred canine was very clearly nervous about this whole situation, ears almost completely pinned back and what little tag he had tucked. Eyes frantically shifting to every new sound and swift movement that happened around him. Soon, his body was hard pressed against his new humans leg. Although he hasn’t been with this human long, it was the only sense of security he had at the moment in this new place.

“Teslo,” the woman chimed in a calm and delighted tone, “It’s going to be alright. We are going to do some special training today. I want to see how good you.” The pup didn’t hear a word she said, too busy dealing with the surrounds to comprehend what she said. In fact, the movement of his master heading towards their training area made him yelp strictly out of habit. The whelp was so loud, it even made Genesis jump.

Both shocked and worried, the woman knelt down to the canine’s level. “Teslo,” the human whined in a low tone, letting out a breath of air in frustration, “You’re fine. Come on. Just ignore everything else and only focus on me and what are are doing, okay?” The pup lifted his gaze to the human’s, his own timid gaze fell upon hers. He stared into her orbs, suddenly feeling a little more at easy as a friendly grin set on her face. In response, he let out a little muffled bark and ears straighten out.

This action made the woman let out a light chuckle, standing to motion for him to follow. “Come,” she ushered, moving to show him the running course she has specially set up for him, “Let’s run this course a few times. I think it will help you focus on the task at hand than what’s around you.” Teslo followed her, observing the multiple objects laid out carefully before him. His head titled to one side, unsure what of she was thinking. “Come. Let’s start.”

And with that, Genesis and Teslo spent hours running a dog agility course that woman had set up for him. At first, the course was hard. Not only for him to run it, but too stay focus. But with some encouragement from his new trainer, the pair could run the course without the canine losing any focus and building his confidence all the while. Hopefully, this special training would help Teslo in the long run.

Teslo’s course running last week worked so well increasing his stamina that Genesis decided to do the same for Evo this week. It took her all day again to step up the course, but she knew it would be well worth it in the end. And when the raven haired woman felt like the agility course well set up correctly, she turned to her beloved canine whom observed his human from the side line.

“Alright,” the woman breathed heavily, already exhausted from moving things around in the dojo to make this training run, “We are going to run an agility course I found.” The woman knelt down, patting the Growlithe on the head. “Follow my lead okay.” Genesis stood, turning to the course. Her gaze flickered to Evo, giving him a nod before she began to sprint.

Evo followed suit, moving to the first obstacle. “Okay for this one,” the breeder explained, moving through the tall bars back and forth until the end, “You gotta do this, but as fast as you can.” She stopped at the end, turning to watch him attempt it. “Go!” The growlithe leaped forward, weaving between bars rather slowly until he reached the end. “Great start! But next time, faster.” The pup tilted his head to one side, surely that was fast enough. Right?

“Let’s do it again.” This was going to be a long training day.

It was special training time one again. And honestly, the breeder felt like she needed it more than her down pokemon. After taking a few weeks off due to an illness she couldn’t shake for what felt like the longest time, the woman was ready to get back on her feet and continue her goal.

Green orbs flickered to one of her first few recruits, one side of her deep red glossy lips curled up in a half grin. “Let’s get some exercise in today,” the woman told the rock type canine, “I feel like I had been sleeping for the last month.” “You were,” Kirala replied, legs extended out and body fell into a bow to start her stretching, “I was getting worried.” The half smile that was on the human’s lips fell, face lost all emotion as she remembered out sick she was. “Yeah… I was really out of it.”

A moment of silence filled the air between them. Genesis doing her normal stretching routine before her jog while in deep thought. Kirala too, leaning forward from her brow to stretch out her back legs. “It doesn’t matter anymore,” the canine spoke up, bushy curly tail wagged back and forth, “You are better now.” The breeder lifted her gaze to the canine, the smile returned followed with a firm nod. “You’re right. Let’s get a good ten miles in today and see how we feel after.”

The rockruff let out a bark in readiness. This broadened the raven haired woman’s grin, falling into a light jog. And of course, the rockruff followed by her side. It would be at least a few hours before their jog would be done, maybe even longer if they felt up for another several miles.

Gearing up for yet another practice battle, the little rock type canine throw . She bounced on her feet, ready to start. Genesis let out a chuckle, head moved left and right in a shake. “Calm down Kirala,” the woman chuckled, moving to adjust a part of sweatshirt that was uncomfortable, “We have all day to build up your stamina. Be patent.” The puppy throw her head back in a howl.

“Alright,” she sighed, hand rose to point to the nearest obstacle, “Let’s tackle this one first.” Kirala darted towards it without hesitation. It was one of the simple ones, a tunnel. Enter into one side and exit out of the other. She barked, ducking to rush into the tunnel and out the other side. Once out on the other side, her gaze meet Genesis ready to do the next.

“Alright,” the raven haired woman scoffed, moving to point to the line of bars, “I want you to go as fast as you can through those bars. Weave in and out.” The canine barked, darting towards what her master told her too. In no time flat, Kirala waved through the bars as quickly as she could.

But as she got to the end, the canine tripped over her own foot and tumbled to the ground. A whimper escaped her, swiftly getting to her paws. Without a word from Genesis, Kirala turned around and darted through them again.

Yet another week has come by to do some more special training. And young Kirala has once again, pushed to have her be the one to do it this week. She made the excuse that Evo has more experience than her and she was joined the 'pack' before everyone else, she desires it. Although Genesis didn’t necessary believe in her reasoning, the rest of her pokemon said it was okay.

“Alright,” the woman sighed, eyes on the dog agility course she come up with this week, “Last time, you had trouble with the bar lump and the a-frame. Both slowed you down a lot. Let’s shot for a shorter time.” The rockruff barked excitedly, body tensed as she readied herself at the start line. “But remember, this isn’t just about speed. You have to do them correctly or it doesn’t count.”

“I’m ready.”

Bring out her stop watch, the raven haired woman smiled. She already made great progress last time so hopefully, Kirala can continue this time as well. “Alright… Get Ready… On your mark… Get set. GO!”

The rockruff launched herself forward, darting towards her first obstacle. Determination in her eyes, ready to improve. She will become stronger. She will make her father proud. No one will stop her.
