Selina would’ve had Tusk or Comet come to the Dojo this time, but Clarity was just so intent on getting some training done, she all but dragged her own Trainer over. And drag wasn’t an understatement. She might’ve been a thin veil of gas, but she was a determined thin veil of gas, and Selina was an exhausted teen going on three hours of sleep… at three in the morning. “Clarity,” Selina whined out with a yawn. “This better be important… I was going to take Tusk here in the morning. Can’t this wait?”
Clarity phased through her Trainer, instantly causing her to shiver in response before noticing the Gastly glancing from one direction to another. The young woman let out a deep sigh in frustration. “Okay, okay,” Selina begrudgingly huffed, raising her hands up in defeat. “I’ll train you instead.” The teen crossed her legs together and smiled. “So, what should we work on then?” The Gastly had to think hard on what attack she wanted to work on… before it hit her. The Ghost Type locked eyes with her Trainer before a wave of strange energy came over the girl and caused her to fall backward and fall asleep instantly.
The Ghost Type cheered in victory before looking down at her Trainer and glanced around, quite confused. Um… now what? Ah, well, it didn’t matter. Selina was exhausted anyway, right? Clarity could train on her own. How hard could it be anyway?

After some encouragement from her admin, Thorn, Selina began working on training one of the newer members of her team: Scale. Upon entering the room, Selina took a look at what she had to work with. While she believed Dracozolt had a lot of potential, right now Scale only had two moves. That wasn’t bad, a lot of Pokémon lacked moves to start with. The problem was their lack of moves that were damage less. This would limit what Selina could do with Dracozolt in battle, but then, what could she do about it?
Well, Selina had two other electric type Pokémon, so perhaps from her experience working with Domino and Sparkle, the best way to go about this would be to work on their electric type move: Thunder Shock. Even if it was a fairly weak move, Thunder Shock had been such a big asset to Domino that it couldn’t be overlooked for Scale at such an early stage.
So, Selina looked around for anything worth using as a target before her eyes landed on a tree. “Let’s work on your range,” Selina began. “Use Thunder Shock on that tree branch up there.” The Dracozolt made a squawk of some kind before unleashing a stream of electricity at the branch, quickly showcasing the dragon’s capability by knocking that branch over plus the three that were above it. Selina grinned. “Great job, Scale! That’s the kind of obedience I’m looking for!”
Scale let out another pleased squawk in response before letting their tongue hang out for a second which… admittedly weirded Selina out. Still, if only Miro could be this obedient…
Selina seemed to have underestimated just how strong an Electric Pokémon, even at an early stage, really could be. So, Selina brought her attention to another tree… one much bigger. The teen glared at the obstacle. She needed to be tenacious… she needed to show no mercy. She would need to give everything she had if she were to truly become a Team Rocket elite. She needed to be in sync with Scale to do so… the teen looked over at the Dracozolt, who mirrored her own determination, and nodded. “I want you to knock over this tree with a Thunder Shock.”

Okay, so the training last time didn’t go so well… no big deal! She knew that Scale wasn’t going to be an easy beast to train from the start, so really, this was to be expected. This was a brand-new day for training, and Selina would take full advantage of them. Selina let Scale out of their ball, receiving a brain-dead squawk, glancing around the room as if it was the first time they were brought there. The teen didn’t heed this any, instead opting to take her Pokedex out and allowed it to analyze the dragon.
Dracozolt will learn the move Charge soon.
The teen’s eyebrows raised again as she thought back to when Domino had used charge for the first time against Reaper’s Froakie. Sure, the Thunder Shock missed then, but she knew it had the potential to do some crazy damage. Selina looked up at the dragon, who merely tilted their head. Selina’s last attempt at training Scale was a failure, and he still had the potential to learn Charge? “Alright, Scale,” Selina started, her determination made anew. “Let’s try working on Thunder Shock again. There’s a chance that we can make you even stronger, and I’m taking it.”
Scale tilted their head a little before squawking again. Did they understand what she was saying? Probably not, but they knew what Thunder Shock meant, so that was all that mattered.
“Alright, Scale,” Selina huffed before pointing at a nearby boulder. “Use Thunder Shock on that rock. Give it all you’ve got.”

So, since her training session with Scale worked well enough, she decided she’d let her Pokedex decide what was best to start training. She hadn’t trained with Arthur for a while, so she decided to give him another crack. Even though he lost in his battle against Reaper, you’d be pressed to find a Pokémon with a better attitude about it. The Cubone was simply happy that Selina was impressed. “Hey, Arthur, it’s good to see you!” Selina said warmly. This was the first time he was out of his own Pokeball, finally grown enough to be independent. Of course, she would continue to keep Ivory around since she had a role of her own in the group, but Arthur was really taking to his role as a battler.
Even if he couldn’t really be used to stealing Pokémon due to his apprehension of it (she was really going to have to work on that before Thorn found out) Arthur was quite the tough little guy, and quite brave, too. Upon seeing his Trainer, Arthur was quick to give his Trainer’s legs a hug before looking up at Selina with bright eyes. “Okay, Arthur,” Selina began. “You great potential to be a really tough battler, especially with that Endure ability. But we’re definitely going to have to work on getting you stronger. You might’ve had a better chance at winning if it wasn’t for that poison status, and getting stronger is a great way to prevent something like that from happening again.”
The Cubone let out a squeak and nodded before Selina brought out her Pokedex.
Cubone is capable of learning Headbutt very soon! Headbutt is a Normal type physical attack with a power of 70. Headbutt has a 30% chance to cause an opponent to flinch.
Selina smiled at the device. Flinching an opponent alongside Endure could make Arthur quite the difficult opponent to defeat if done the right way. “Alright, Arthur,” Selina said with a confident grin. “We’re gonna work on your Endure today. I want you to run at all of those trees and brace yourself. Then you might get a new move out of this… if done correctly!”
Arthur let out a squeak before turning to one of the trees, confidence billowing up inside. He was raring to go!

Selina came back to the dojo with Miro in tow this time. The Snivy was quite confident in his own strength, so it had taken her quite a while to get him into this dojo, but when she finally got there, she found herself sighing in relief. Selina looked over to the Pokeball, already feeling irked at the trouble this leaf snake was going to give her during this training session. Selina tossed the Pokeball, allowing the snake to appear in a white light in front of her. The Snivy blinked a couple of times before turning his head and looked at a cluster of flowers. Before Selina could even say anything, the Snivy dashed over to them and took a big whiff of their scent.
Selina groaned and placed a hand on her forehead. “This is going to be a long session, isn’t it?” With that said, the teen took out the Pokedex and held it to scan Miro.
Snivy will learn the move Growth very soon. Growth is a non-damaging Normal Type status move. Growth raises the users attack and special attack by one stage. It is highly recommended to use this move under harsh sunlight.
Selina’s eyebrows were raised in surprise at such a suggestion. Harsh sunlight? Selina looked over at her Snivy, who was still quite obsessed with the scents of flowers around him before falling backwards in quite a lull. Selina hummed in thought… Growth was a move that actually benefitted from sunlight. Miro, as a Snivy, loved to sunbathe anyway… so maybe that could be a way to get the Grass-Type motivated to train. Selina slammed her fist into her other palm deciding this was the path she’d take for training today.
“Miro!” Selina called out, naturally not getting a response at first. “How would you like to do some sunbathing for training this session?” The second the Snivy made eye contact with his Trainer, she knew she had his attention. Maybe this training session would go well after all…

The teen came back with her Snivy, who hadn’t quite learned the move she was hoping he would. Not quite, anyway. While the two were sunbathing, Miro’s leaf tail did start glowing quite a bit in the sun, but it quickly faded before he actually felt the full effect. Just seeing something happen made the Snivy determined to get this move working, but before he could fully learn the move, both he and Selina ended up falling asleep. This was a sure-fire lesson to Miro that maybe dragging his feet to these training sessions when he’s about to learn a new move wasn’t a great idea.
So, this time, Miro was the one dragging Selina, and honestly it wasn’t hard because it was just nice to see the Snivy invested in anything they did together. It was almost like they were actually bonding. “Alright, I think we almost had it last time,” Selina said with a smile before opening her notes. “I think we had the right idea with sunbathing, but I’ve read on Snivy a little bit.”
“Okay?” Miro quirked an eyebrow at Selina’s explanation. “Tell me something I don’t know…”
“Alright, wise guy,” Selina rolled her eyes. “You like sunbathing, but do you know WHY you like sunbathing?” The Snivy frowned a little, trying to think for a little bit before shrugging in defeat. Selina smirked and pointed at the leaf on his tail. “It’s so your leaf stays healthy. Studies show that a Snivy’s health is reflected in how healthy the leaf on its tail is. The more withered the leaf, the worse off you would be.” Selina looked over at the very healthy tail before placing a hand on her hip. “Can’t exactly say I don’t take good care of you, can you?”
“I can say you’re overbearing…” Miro muttered causing his Trainer to pout a little. “And annoying… Can we just get started? I was looking forward to getting this learned, but now I just remembered I’m stuck training with you…”
Selina grew silent… so much for their bonding. The teen looked away from the Pokémon, refusing to allow him to see how upset she was by his harsh words. “Well,” Selina sighed. “What I figured we could do is really focus on getting a lot of sun on the tail-.”
“Focus on the tail? Sweet, I can do that in my sleep!”
“But don’t you-?”
“Nah, I got this. I’ll tell you when I’m done.”
“Miro-!” The Snivy didn’t pay his Trainer any mind, and Selina was left alone with her pile of papers. All the effort she put in for Miro… and he couldn’t care any less. The teen could feel her eyes stinging, and her intense anger building up as she crumpled up the paper and tossed it to the side. Selina sat against the tree for hours, frustration and discouragement clear on her face. By the time Miro came back, he had his fill of sunbathing, quite pleased with his progress. He flashed his glowing tail, and whether the move was actually learned or not didn’t matter. Selina got onto her feet and headed straight for the door without saying another word to him…
…Yeah, honestly, this was probably the moment the Snivy remembered Selina was just a kid…

Emolga: Level 12. The next move this Pokemon will learn is Spark at level 13.
Spark: A physical Electric Type attack. The Pokemon surrounds itself in electricity, colliding with its foe with an electrified tackle. This attack had a 30% chance of causing Paralysis, and a 65 base power.
Selina hummed as she took in what she learned about the next attack Domino was about to learn before looking at Domino, who was smiling up at her Trainer with her tail wagging. As time had gone by, Domino had become one of, if not the, most reliable Pokémon on her team. While her priority had initially been making friends and nothing else, Selina’s happiness had been moved to the top of her list of priorities, which was a far cry from her relationship with Miro. This was good… because they had quite the challenge ahead of them.
How was Selina meant to teach Domino how to use an electrified tackle? Though, in Domino’s case, it was probably going to be more along the lines of an electrified Quick Attack… she had to figure out how to get her to use some kind of electricity with using Quick Attack somehow.
…Maybe she could try and have Domino use Quick attack and Thunder Shock at once? She’d never had any of her Pokémon try such a thing before… But this was Domino, so… if she was willing to try this on anyone, it was Domino.
Selina smiled at the squirrel, standing on her feet as the Emolga did the same. “Alright,” Selina said, rolling her hands into a fist. “Here’s what I want you to do: show me your best quick attack. Hit that stone right over there, okay?”
“Emon!” Domino nodded before she started running at full speed at a stone, brushing up wind around the teen in the process. Selina looked over to see a stone shatter around the squirrel. Yes, that wasn’t even remotely an issue for her. That was but one half of what Selina needed her to be able to do: it almost seemed silly to check the other one, but she needed to see how well she could do with a raw Thunder Shock.
“Alright, Domino! Now show me your best Thunder Shock!”
“Emon!” Domino nodded, allowing electricity to dance around her before balling her paws to fists. “Emon… gaaa!” Domino unleashed the electric attack at a tree, leaving a nasty mark on the face of the tree. Naturally, this was the attack she was born with, so to say she was proficient at it was an understatement.
Now came the hard part.
“Okay, here’s the challenge,” Selina said rubbing her hands together. “I’m going to try and help you learn Spark. So that’s something like a Quick Attack, only you’re covered in electricity. So, here’s what I need you to do: I want you to try and use Thunder Shock while you’re using Quick Attack.”
“Emon?!” Domino flinched a little as she looked up at her Trainer in confusion. How was she meant to pull that off? Could she pull that off? The squirrel looked her Trainer in the eye and gulped before looking forward. It was certainly going to be quite the undertaking, but it was worth a try, right? Domino wasn’t exactly on the higher end of battlers yet, but she was getting good at what she knew. So why not push the envelope on what she could do?
With that in mind, Domino stood on all fours, allowing electricity to spark before running on all fours to start up another Quick Attack as electricity started sparking around her. The electricity and energy from Quick Attack both fought with each other to be in control of the attack, and while Domino tried to balance the two, she ended up focusing on the attack so much, she didn’t see the tree up ahead and ended up ramming right into it at full force. Selina placed a hand on her forehead, squinting an eye shut before looking over at the state of the poor squirrel. “We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us…”
“Mon…”

Important Info
Season
Good news, Autumn is here! The sticky heat of the summer is finally gone, but the bad news? Its gotten very cold very fast. Berrys have fallen early from their perches, fruit and food is getting caught in snap frosts and icy mornings and this is leading to very cold mornings, pokemon getting desprate quickly and dark and chilly evenings
Next season change ~ May 20th
Swarming Pokemon!
Encouraged Characters
Currently, our character numbers are pretty even, so aside from us gently encouraging more civilians and breeders...go nuts!
Numbers of Gijinka on site have dropped, too, so they're open to be applied for at the moment- though, if you're interested, go check out the adoptable threads for many wanted ones! They could always use players! ;-)
