Here goes - I went for the professor post!

The young trainer standing before Kari was certainly not off to a great start. He was another one of these trainers that believed it suitable to enter the property without invitation, one of the Professor's biggest pet peeves. Not only that, but he appeared to show little remorse for causing offence, he seemed more interested in simply getting the starter pack from her, that absolutely anything else. There was at least something to be said for the eagerness to begin his journey, but would it have killed him to have some common courtesy? The professor sighed, attempting to push past her annoyance for the time being, after all, she did have a job to do. "Okay, well as you already have your starter pokemon, you are already halfway there..." the young woman began to speak, however was cut off by the brat of a trainer almost immediately. The professor grit her teeth as she listened to the young man explain how he didn't actually want the pokemon he had been given. He wanted to pick a pokemon of his own, not one that was simply given to him by his family. "There will be a time for discussion afterwards." the professor retorted firmly, if there were any doubt as to her annoyance before, there certainly wasn't any longer. "Now, as I was saying. On the table behind you are the following items." Maple began to explain, pointing a finger towards the table behind the young trainer. "Five pokeballs, you will need those for obvious reasons. A pokedex, your encyclopedia to all things pokemon. The xtransceiver, you will need that to keep in touch with people on your journey and the planter for you to use should you happen to come across any berries whilst out on your travels." the young professor reeled off all of the items laid out on the table, before shifting her gaze to the floor beside the table. "Ah yes, and the foldable bike, that will help you get around much qucker." Observing the young man's reaction to the item, the professor quietly took a moment to ensure that everything was in order before picking up a bag from beside her and extending it out towards the new trainer. "Take this to store everything in." she spoke bluntly. "Now on the matter of your starter pokemon. I can understand the sentiment, and you seem like a very determined individual...." the professor began as she made her way across to a collection of pokeballs, waving her finger across them scanning for the pokemon she was looking for.  "I think this little one would be great for you!" Maple stated, throwing the pokeball up, releasing a flash of light before revealing a young Tyrouge who immediately began to punch the air, excitedly as if trying to impress the new trainer, who seemingly was already impressed with the selection, causing a smug grin to appear across Maple's face. It was always a win when she managed to successfully pair new trainers with their partner pokemon.  "Now, if you really do not want the pokemon your family then I will happily take it and care for it, but I do think perhaps you should consider that your family entrusted you with this pokemon for a reason. If you give it a chance, you may come to be really good friends." the professor began to lecture the young trainer who stood in thought for a moment before nodding back to the professor and agreeing with her. "Perfect. Now I assume that will be all. So.... Good luck on your travels!" Ok, so reading your app over and staff having a quick chat, we have only one major issue. You are still very new to the site and between not knowing the mechanics quite as well as we feel comfy with and not having a basis for activity, we've decided we would be happy for you to step up to staff and give us a hand, so long as you are still about/active/want to come November 1st

And your age? 33 - Yup. Old. But I am currently out of work awaiting doctor things and therefore have plenty of time to devote, and when I return to work the same is true as I am an office clerk at a local museum, so all is well.
Why do you want to be a mod? Writing is one of the most fun things to do - I clearly like to write characters and engagements. Somewhat selfishly, I think being a mod and helping people with a bunch of different scenarios is the perfect way for me to curtail myself in making more things for mods to deal with; aka more characters needing mod perusal (XD). If I were to able to help out others with inventive characters, I would like to do so!

Also, I am strangely a fan of repetitive tasks, such as advertising; searching and doing post backs is one of the things I love, and will likely do anyways.

I am unsure of how many people were here from years ago, but at that time I held a mod position before I had to leave for reasons with my former job. I do know that I am relatively new to being back but I am more than willing to step up especially if it is needed. I am also willing to wait the full term of one month, as I understand I've had a few hiccups in coming back - but I hope I've shown I'm willing to correct mistakes, and quickly, and am healthily responding to any corrections needed.

Shula is a place where, when I had a moment to sit back and needed a pick me up, I was thrilled to see was still in shape and full of people ready to write and explore. So I'm glad to contribute in any way I can to this community again.
Which roles would you want to do? Advertising, Post Mods - Anything one would need of me, honestly. Here to serve as needed.
Which roles wont/cant you do? Honestly, the only thing that would make me feel not as comfortable is coding - BUT that didn't seem to be an option so that seems to be a okay.

A wild pokemon, swarm no less, has appeared in an area because they had encountered a trainer once before here and was hoping to meet them, and their team, again

A trainer - feel free to use any of the NPC's - has had a rotten day with bad luck, nasty encounters and all around a terrible mood and just wants to find someone to battle and take it all out on!

Why do you want to be a mod? - I am really enjoying my time here on Shula, and figured that if there was an opportunity to help out with posts and what not that I would be able to do so. A NPC has happened across a wild pokemon and needs to tell someone about it, the issue is the pokemon put their own to sleep and they are having to run to find the first person they can to inform, without finding any others as they cant battle!

OR

A wild pokemon has lost their little one, thinking they have been stolen by the trainer who just passed through. What they dont know is this trainer does indeed have their child with them, because they indeed did battle and capture them, however it was their childs request!

The peaceful clearing is suddenly anything but peaceful. The air hums with the sound of tiny, frantic wings. Leaves rustle. Flowers tremble. A golden cloud of Cutiefly bursts onto the scene, moving with the intensity of a highly disorganized search party.

And at the front of it all—leading the charge with the confidence of a Pokémon twice their size—is one particularly determined Cutiefly.

Peppy.

Peppy remembers this place. More importantly, Peppy remembers them. The snack bearer. They of the honey-kissed fingers. The One who passed through before, leaving behind a trail of excitement, good vibes, and gloriously full bellies. Peppy is absolutely certain that if they just look hard enough, that trainer will appear again.

They zip forward, scanning the area like a tiny detective on a big case. A suspicious-looking rock? No, not the trainer. That tree? No, but it could be hiding the trainer. Peppy smacks into it just to be sure.

Behind them, the rest of the swarm follows—somewhat less gracefully. A few Cutiefly get distracted by flowers. One spirals dramatically to the ground after bumping into a confused Butterfree who, seeing the other buggy pokemon as overly troublesome, quickly wings it in the opposite direction. Peppy turns, claps their tiny legs together like a coach calling a huddle, and delivers a very passionate, very high-pitched and buzzy pep talk.

Brothers and sisters! Today we return to the lands of honey and milkweed! We seek the One Who Feeds for the great meal that has been promised us by the changing of the winds! We fly on tired wings but shall be rewarded for our troubles. For once we find them, the Food Bearer of Seasons Past - We. Shall. FEAST!

The Cutiefly hum in unity, and refocus. The search continues.

Somewhere out there, their trainer is waiting. Probably. Hopefully. If not, well… Peppy is more than prepared to go up to every single human in the area until they find the right one.

Nobody is safe.

How could this be? One moment, the female Darmanitan was accompanied by her son, a Darumaka, and the next, the little one was gone! She had made sure that the much smaller round, red Pokemon was within an arms reach as they ventured through the hot, dry, desert. It was something that she had always done ever since her son was born for the desert was a grueling place to live in.

Now, this admittedly wasn't the first time her son had wandered off on his own due to his natural curiosity for the world. But whenever such a thing did occur, the Darmanitan was quick to find her offspring, scolding him in the process for venturing off too far without her.

However, this time, things were different. She could not find her precious son, causing the red, big ape-like Pokemon to become anxious. "Son, where are you?" The Darmanitan cried out, her voice shaky due to the fear that something bad could have happened to the little Pokemon.

While calling out to her son, she made sure to follow the small footprints that the Darumaka had left in the sand. It was one of the benefits of living in a desert. After a few more minutes of following the trail left behind by her son, the Darmanitan came to a screeching halt. The clean trail of footprints seemed to come to an end, causing the Darmanitan to look up.

And that was when her worst fear had come. Off in the distance was a pink-headed human. And next to the pink-headed human was her precious son. The smaller red-colored Pokemon seemed to have lots of bruises all around his body, a clear indication that the human had harmed her son with his enslaved Pokemon!

In her rage, the Darmanitan would sprint in the direction of the human.

"What have you done to my poor baby?" The Darmanitan shouted in anger. "You have three seconds to give me an answer, or else!" She continued.

"Wait, wait, wait!" The human would cry out, his hands shaking in front of him as to demonstrate that he means no harm. Though he didn't understand what the big ape-like Pokemon was saying, it was clear that the Pokemon was angry. Due to his knowledge of Pokemon, he knew that the Pokemon now standing before him was a Darmanitan, and the human understood what was going on, for not too long ago he had battled against the Darumaka now standing beside him, and even captured the Pokemon upon the Darumakas request.

It seemed like there was a really bad misunderstanding going on, but before the human could say anything else, the Darumaka standing beside him seemed to come to his aid.

"Wait, 'ma! I can explain!" The Darumaka cried out, jumping in front of his new trainer. From then on, both Darumaka and human began to give the wild Darmanitan the details of the encounter that had occurred between the two.

I've also had a lot more of a stableness to my life and figured I could throw my hand in once again! I've been roleplaying for 15 years now, god that's a long time. I have around 8ish years of mod experience from sporadic ex-mod duties here and on another site for a time. I have plenty of ideas and time to give towards Shula and am willing to do whatever is needed of me!

A NPC has happened across a trainer in a thread, they have the same pokemon the NPC wishes to find with them and want to know how the trainer found them to get their own

OR

A swarm pokemon finds itself on its own, away from the pokemon it travelled with in order to come and meet some extended family and is beginning to panic!

I went for the Swarm, takes place in Mossrock Forest!

Gender - Male / Ability - Effect Spore / Level - 13 / Moves - Scratch, Stun Spore, Poison Powder, Absorb, Bug Bite

Everything had been fine and dandy for the tiniest Paras of the bunch. Their family would be waiting for the grand feast to begin; a story of how they always meet up after a number of years to finally come together in the grand feast. Everything had been perfect. A group of too many cousins having decided to travel together across the forest; trees rising higher and higher than before. The large imposing shadows providing them with the cover they desperately would need to avoid becoming prey to the flying birds in the open sky. Everything had been fine, up until the tiniest Paras had decided to collect the prettiest of mushrooms for his ma. How cruel the world could be for putting the most perfect mushroom he's ever seen in front of him.

Lost. The tiniest Paras of the bunch was now lost. Left behind in the rush of travel because he stopped for a single moment. Chattering out to the open air, hidden beneath a leaf, he cries. <"Hello? Guys? This isn't funny!"> Only the gentlest of breezes is all that travels through the foliage here. Paras curls further into himself as he begins to shake a little bit more. <"Y-You didn't forget me... a-again... Right?"> The silence becomes even more deafening as Paras has to keep moving now. There's no point in staying still if the others had left him behind. All he wanted to do was see his Ma and show her the mushroom he'd gotten while travelling. The grand feast was going to be in a few days. What if he doesn't arrive in time? What if he's lost forever? Will this have to be his new home? He didn't want to stay here.

<"No! This isn't happening! Guys?! C'mon, where are you? I-I ca-can't..."> His breath begins to get heavy. The sudden thrum of his heart rises as the Paras starts to pull at the leaves touching the ground. Gentle crunching sounds as he moves worriedly around. They had to be there. They were just hiding. Yeah that's it. They had to be hiding. He couldn't be alone. Not again. Not when his family was somewhere close by. The panic sets in as he begins to shout in loud chitters. <"Where are you?!? I-I c-can't... Someone! Anyone please! I-I can't br-breathe."> The choked words come as Paras can feel the air getting caught in his exoskeleton. There's a heavy feeling as he scrambles forward, noticing he's alone.

Okay i know it's a longshot as I don't have the best history with being active.,. but I've gotten to where i can steadily be here for at least 4 hours a day and if I'm not streaming i could be here almost all day if needed. I would love to help out though as i want other staff to also be able to advance their own characters stories and also enter events alongside regular members more often. Also this place is my second home and my roleplaying home.

Unfortunately, we are going to have to deny this application at this stage.

You have clearly not read the top post fully to start with, however of course while your activity is improving, it is still very early days, so we would need to see consistency from you in this respect before we could consider you for a mod position as it is very full on and requires consistent activity.
