From what Niko had heard, things got pretty interesting in the Grasslands if you traveled for long enough. Go in the right direction, and you'd find a sheer cliffside with tons of Flying-type Pokemon where one misstep could very well lead to a long and decidedly fatal freefall. Since Niko wasn't superhuman, he didn't exactly like that prospect, but at the same time, he couldn't deny that the place didn't have any use to him. His team was right around the same level of power as the cliff's inhabitants, and he didn't mind the idea of adding a good Flying Pokemon to his team. Unfortunately for him, there were none that really leapt out at him, at least at first. He stared out into the raging tides, as the weather became increasingly cloudy, not seeing much activity on the ground or in the sky. He wasn't enjoying the prospect of staying for long, lest he be caught in a storm, but he'd also traveled quite some distance to be there. If he just left, that would mean admitting he wasted his time, and he wasn't so willing to do that just yet. Haunter

And though Niko would be quite correct in respect to the fact that the weather were at the very least threatening to storm if the gradually darkening clouds were anything to go by, however as with anything looks could certainly be deceiving in so many ways - so while it may otherwise be looking as if the weather would be going one way it would only remain as a suspicion as to the end result. The same could be said about the 'temporary' absence of wild pokemon either on land or in the sky for while there were not any immediate signs of other beings that lived around here did not mean that tehre were not any - more a case of such pokemon that lived out here didn't make a point of actively swarming around any humans that ventured out here.
Anyway, it were while the human male were starting to debate just whether his time had been well spent out here or alternatively whether he should leave, presuming that the human male that was niko were continuing walking all the while he were mentally debating this he would the human eventually come across across what could only be described as something of a chaotic sight. Or at the very least more so than what anyone would come to expect of a wild area, for if Niko were inclined to look around him he would likely take note of scattered vegetation - more accurately avariety of different sized leeks - all around the area and broken in pieces to be seemingly cast aside. At least this is what looked to be the case and it would be creating a trail almost as if some being had wandered through this place and been displeased with the offerings and thrown aside - so the question would be whether Niko would follow this 'trail' to see where it led or choose a different path.

Haunter Niko stepped away from the cliffside and paced around a bit, weighing his options. He didn't exactly see himself getting under the cliff edge without falling off, and that wasn't something he was looking to do at the moment. That meant if there were any roosting Pokemon tucked away on the cliffside, they'd have to come to him. That seemed like it could take a while, though, and there was no guarantee he'd be rewarded for his patience. This train of thought was interrupted when Niko heard a crunching noise beneath his feet. He'd just stepped in something hidden in the grass. Moving his foot to the side, he saw a...leek? Okay, that was definitely strange on its own. However, it only became stranger when he noticed all the other leeks, which seemed to be leading out towards...somewhere. It was a bizarre sight, and Niko had trouble believing what he was seeing. He hadn't seen much vegetation in his search, yet here he was, in front of a veritable trail of leeks. How or why such a thing was there seemed unclear, but Niko figured the only way he'd be able to discern the true origin would be to follow it and see where it led.

And as Niko would make his choice and come to proceed along the path in order to follow the literal 'leek' trail it would eventually reveal the source / reason for such things being scattered along the path. But naturally not before he would need to travel a fair distance in order to locate such, though it were true the broken vegetables were very clearly making a trail it were to turn out there were not quite as many as would first appear - albeit rather they were spaced out just enough that it appeared as if there were more especially given the fact that some were indeed broken into two or more pieces overall. But this were besides the point for this were ultimately insignificant in the grand scheme of things and as such after a few minutes of travelling would - should attention be pain to surroundings - would the reason for these scattered leeks become more obvious for in the distance would there be a brown feathered form upon the ground with it's back slightly turned to the human and in one of it's feathered 'hands' would be swinging about a leek much like those that had been discarded. Haunter It took a little while, but after trudging for a while, Niko seemed to near the source of the leek trail. He wasn't sure how there were actually enough leeks to create a trail so long it took minutes to reach the end, but he supposed the best course of action would be to focus on finding the source of the trail before worrying himself too much with questions. Eventually, the end was in sight, and Niko could see something ahead of him. It appeared to be...a Farfetch'd? Okay, that made a lot of sense in hindsight. Not many other Pokemon were associated with leeks, at least as far as Niko knew. The problem was that it had for some reason felt the need to discard so many of them. That just didn't seem like something a Farfetch'd would do without a good reason. Niko figured getting the Pokemon's attention would be the best first step to figuring out just what was going on. " Hello? Is everything okay over there?"

Needless to say much like the human male that was NIko would have already determined after having - finally - located the one who had ben discarding all the leeks along the route that the man had been walking it would make so much more sense now given this particular bird specie were well know for favouring leeks as occasional weapons and for various other things. The only and significantly puzzling thing now would be just how on earth did this lone Farfetch'd manage to carry so many leeks with it? For there couldn't be any way that this bird would have managed such a thing could it? But then again even if this seemed to be the case it had still managed such. SO distracted were the bird that it would only be when Niko would come to speak would the FArfetch'd come to acknowledge the human male's pressence before turning to look upon the human in a wary way for the longest of times while considering the question posed to it for an age. It would be from here that the bird would seem to 'grumble' softly before shrugging slightly in an almost human like gesture that would - generally speaking - equate to the answer of everything being as alright as it could be. Haunter Fortunately, the Farfetch'd wasn't too engrossed in its own business (whatever said business was) to notice Niko calling out to it. Unfortunately, the response that he got was rather underwhelming. Given the distance between the two of them, it wasn't easy to tell what exactly was going on in the Pokemon's head, but as Niko approached, he was at least able to observe some form of response. Said response happened to be what Niko could only presume was some sort of contented shrug, which seemed at odds with whatever was actually happening. He would need some help in figuring out what was going on. He retrieved a pokeball and tossed it at his feet, the ever-loyal Regent popping out. The Pawniard quickly began looking around and noticed not only the Farfetch'd in front of her, but the mess of leeks behind her and Niko. Suffice to say, she had some questions, and she decided to ask the stranger for answers. " Excuse me, but who exactly are you, and what's going on here?"

Now in the case of the Farfetch'd itself it's own reasoning for having offered the response that it had was merely down to the fact that the bird has presumed that whatever other answer that would have been given would likely not have been understood in any way so to have given the - albeit almost pathetic - answer that it had was gone for the particular situation yes? That was what the Farfetch'd kept telling himself at the very least even if it were to become clear that the human were having a hard time believing that all was well - oh well, that was about as much to be expected. It would become all the more obvious that the human were puzzled and confused as a whole when he would come to retrieve one of those pokeballs that the majority of humans liked carrying with them and released the being - in this case a Pawniard - that were within the capsule, this were more than enough to get the flying type focusing it's full attention upon the pair and carefully listening to what would be asked and only then responding. < I am a Farfetch'd, at least that is my specie's name. I do not have any other name, as for what is going on here. I was trying to find myself a sturdy leek to use as my weapon - it took a long time to find something suitable and strong enough. > Would the bird answer. Haunter Niko stepped forward to observe whatever conversation the two Pokemon were having. He'd spent enough time with Regent at home and at the Dojo to have an okay grasp of her general mannerisms, but he knew very little about Farfetch'd other than the fact that they were Flying Pokemon that liked leeks. That seemed to be their shtick, and based on what he was seeing, this one fit that M.O. to a T. It would be up to Regent to actually speak to the little guy about whatever leek-based issue it'd been having, however. Regent had fully taken in her surroundings by that point, and was really more unamused than anything. " I know of your kind, yes. Your Galarian relatives were quite bothersome to my ancestors, I've heard. That leek you have there doesn't quite match up to their size, of course, but I'm sure it would still be an effective weapon...In your hands, at least." Regent looked back at Niko for a second, remembering why they were at the cliffs in the first place. " We're looking for strong Flying Pokemon to add to his roster, as well as general training experience. If you can provide either, it would be most appreciated."

NOw of course it did indeed feel somewhat strange for the Farfetch'd to be interacting with another in a manner such as this, or more accurately with a tame pokemon that had it's own human stood not far from itself. Though there were clearly no threat from these two - at least not yet anyway - it were not as if the flying type were going to be relaxing fully just yet but rather remain on guard even if the bird outwardly appeared relaxed even if allowing a cautiously wary gaze to move between the human and Pawniard every so often while the two pokemon interacted. But for now such thoughts would be pushed aside and for now would the bird focus upon the conversation that would be going on between itself and it's tame counterpart, what the other would speak regarding the variant that hailed from Galar. < yes, i have heard of those distant relatives of mine and their larger leeks. I have no doubts they were and still are bothersome - it is just how us Farfetch'd are. Life would be meaningless - to a point - without a leek to fight with, we all have our preferences do we not? > Would the flying type come to respond eventually. Now for the second comment and explanation in which would be offered forth to explain the reason for the pair's pressence out here in the cliffs, the Farfetch'd would manage a small and simple nod of understanding in time. SO it were much the same reason as all the other humans that came out here that this pair were here, this were no surprise rather only natural and would cause the bird to consider the request that had been put forth to him by the other. < i can certainly offer you both some training if that is what you are after? And whatever happens as a result of the ending of such training is to be yours and your human's choice in regards to myself and all those who you come to interact with after me. >Level 11 || 110 / 110 || Male || Keen Eye || StatusQuick Attack, Sand Attack, Leer, Aerial Ace, Fury Attack, Peck

Haunter Regent had a feeling that the Farfetch'd in front of her wasn't quite at ease. She supposed that made some sense, given that they were more or less butting into the wild Pokemon's business. That, combined with the reason Niko and company were at the cliffs in the first place...yeah, she couldn't really blame the guy if that were indeed the case. " I suppose you're right about that," Regent replied. She couldn't exactly argue with the bird Pokemon's logic, even if the idea of fighting with a vegetable no larger than a stick that a human child might play with seemed rather silly on paper. There was just the question of how effective it actually was. " Really?" Regent was a tad surprised. " Well, that's certainly generous of you." Apparently, this Farfetch'd was fine with being used for training purposes, no questions asked. That wasn't what she expected from a wild Pokemon, but she wasn't exactly complaining. If anything, it seemed to her more like they were just taking their encounter to its logical conclusion. " Alright, let's make this quick." Not wanting the Farfetch'd to make the first move, she struck first, her expression turning fierce as she leapt towards her opponent. As she did, she prepared herself to get the first hit in, her arm poised to deliver a quick swipe. Regent used Leer and Scratch (40 BP)

NOw it were in no way hard to see how surprised the Pawniard were in regards to the fact of the offer that the Fafetch'd itself had made regarding a 'training partner', but at the same time that were not a bad thing was it? After all the vast majority of humans that came out this way so often came for training purposes and many of the wild pokemon - including the flying type itself - were often looking for battles themselves thus such a thing worked out well all around. As such rather than offering a verbal response would the Farfetch'd instead would offer a nod of confirmation, it would be from here that a faint look of surprise that the other would take the initiative and come to attack first. As such not only the look thrown the birds way the swiped attack at it would cause a grunt of pain to escape the bird as he stumbled back a couple of steps before steadying itself and upon doing so would hurl a small dusting of sand towards the Pawniard in order to obscure her view for a short period before charging forward in order to peck at the other. Haunter Niko took a couple steps back when he realized that Regent had become hostile towards the Farfetch'd. He hadn't noticed any particular signs of aggression up to that point, and had sort of been hoping that Regent would relay their conversation to him before doing anything too hasty. Apparently not, as, in an unexpected turn of events, she had apparently decided to act on her own. " What the-?" he said. " At least warn me before you start attacking, Regent." This got Regent's attention, as she quickly looked back at him with an apologetic look. She hadn't intended to displease Niko with her actions, and supposed she would have to explain herself after the battle was over. Hopefully, he wouldn't be too upset with her after that. Those short seconds of being distracted would ultimately end up coming back to bite her, unfortunately, as the Farfetch'd retaliated by kicking up a fair amount of sand, obscuring her vision long enough to allow the Farfetch'd to bear down on her, delivering a solid peck. Regent instinctively hopped back a bit, glaring at the Farfetch'd as she landed and waiting patiently for him to make the next move. Sand Attack and Peck hit!

Now in the case of some other pokemon who after having done what the Farfetch'd had done with his previous combination of attacks would have likely made efforts to shield their own eyes from the lingering sand that they themselves had kicked up and risked obscuring their own vision, but in the case of this Farfetch'd the bird would keep his gaze fixed upon his opponent even when he were backing away after attacking for the Farfetch'd did not want to get caught off guard. As such this would be the reason for the success of the Leer that were sent in the birds direction however it were as a result of the birds hyper focus upon the Pawniard that resulted in the Farfetch'd waiting just long enough for it to appear as if the other's attack were successful but rather the flying type would manage to dodge the follow up attack. After having put some distance between himself and the female fighter before him would the flying type cast a leered look towards the Pawniard before taking a deep breath and charging towards the Pawniard in a surprisingly speedy manner towards the red hued fighter and hoping to strike out at the other with his leek weapon that were within the flying types grip. Level 11 || 70 / 110 || Male || Keen Eye || Defense -2Quick Attack, Sand Attack, Leer, Aerial Ace, Fury Attack, Peck Leer hit, lowering defense Sucker Punch was dodged

Haunter Much to Regent's Chagrin, she wasn't able to land a decisive hit on the Farfetch'd. Instead, her target managed to deftly avoid it, the small Flying-type successfully making distance between them. She supposed this was more ideal compared to if he'd simply taken the opportunity to counter her failed pre-emptive attack, but on the other hand, her attack had given him enough time to prepare for his next move. Said "next move" ended up catching Regent off guard, despite her better judgment, as the first thing her opponent did was glare at her in a manner that she wasn't expecting from something so harmless-looking. Then, of course, he came in swinging, and fortunately, Regent was able to see it coming quickly enough to sidestep the attack. In retaliation, Regent glared down at the Farfetch'd with disdain before delivering yet another pre-emptive strike. Leer hit, but Aerial Ace missed!
Regent used Leer and Sucker Punch (70+12+10=92 BP if Farfetch'd attacks next turn (97 if Leer hits))
