After their first training session, Clover's little virtual buddy had started spewing out green and purple beams of energy left and right, in addition to the other weird stuff it'd already been doing. The beams seemed to be psychic in nature, which was interesting, but the fact that Kinito was firing them off so recklessly was also a bit troublesome, and even the Dark-type Stuart seemed a bit perturbed after getting hit by one of them. What weird mental energy could've been in the Porygon's psychic beams to have that effect?
For that matter, would something like that be good in battle? Surely it would be. They just had to see what they could do in a controlled environment.
After altering its code in some arcane manner, Kinito was able to make itself Psychic-type, strengthening its Psybeams and giving it something that seemed vaguely like control over its beams. Of course, though the beams could do some damage to stationary targets, firing them off still caused the corrupted Porygon to glitch out, as well as make some vocalizations that Clover didn't really know how to interpret. Luckily, Cynder was there to help translate. Unluckily, most of what the Porygon while firing off Psybeams apparently didn't make any sense to Cynder, either. That was...odd.

"D-do I real-eal-eally have to train three whole times? Shouldn't we be playing that pa-paper game - only on Nintendo Switch! - right now?"
Clover looked at Kinito with a confused expression, not really sure how to respond to whatever the Porygon had just said. "Sorry, buddy, but it's training time, and we gotta make sure you're in good shape." She knew that "good shape" didn't mean that much for a living program, but it was a tad nicer than saying they needed to get its weird glitches under control. Up to that point, Kinito's weirdness had remained consistently odd. Even calling Silph Co. tech support didn't help, with none of their instructions accomplishing anything as far as anyone was aware. Training had to do something, right?
At least it could maintain control of its actions to a limited extent. As she watched it subtly alter its form, honing its polygonal edges to the point of actual sharpness, it was still acting glitchy, but that was about it. Kinito then tried tackling some cardboard cutouts within its vicinity. Sure enough, not only did it crash into it with force, but also left cuts and gashes on it as it did so. It wasn't quite what Clover would expect when it came to increasing Kinito's striking power, but it was something, at least.

Mileena gave the Wobbuffet in front of her the most hateful and menacing look she could muster. She hoped to see the thing quiver in fear, or at least flinch...but unfortunately, that wasn't what happened. Instead, it just stood stock still, not even acknowledging her presence. This was more than a little annoying, and she quickly lost her patience with the thing.
"What is WRONG with you, you idiot?!"
She volunteered for training that week because she was bored and wanted an opportunity to strike fear into the heart of whatever equivalent of a sparring partner she was granted. Said "sparring partner" ended up being a blue blob-thing twice her height, yet with nothing remotely intimidating about it. She figured it'd be more than easy to have this thing cowering before her...yet it didn't even seem to notice her.
"Is this thing blind and deaf?" she asked aloud. She felt like there was no other explanation as to why it wasn't reacting. She decided to test her theory with a few quick strikes with her open palm. With gusto, she dealt her first blow, and suddenly, the thing swung backwards before smacking her with its own body, sending her backwards. As she got back up, she gave another glare. "Oh, now you've done it."

As troublesome as he could be, Stuart was still willing to do things that Clover wanted him to, so long as he was provided with plenty of "encouragement." With that in mind, getting him to train again like everyone else was a simple affair, so long as Clover had plenty of sunflower seeds to throw his way when he did well.
As an inexperienced Electric Pokemon, Stuart's aptitude for delivering harmful shocks was still a little lacking, so they were going to put that to the test. The young Morpeko would be given a simple task: In front of him was an odd device that could measure the strength of electric shocks sent its way. If Stuart could hit the thing with a strong electric shock, he'd be rewarded with a treat. If it was an especially strong shock, he could even get two!
The promise of a tasty reward turned out to be more than enough to motivate the mouse Pokemon, as Clover could see him straining himself trying to muster up as much electrical energy as possible. She tried to get him to calm down a little and avoid overexerting himself, but with the prospect of food, it seemed like her words only had so much weight.

Mileena was ready for action once again, it seemed, for more action. Having to beat up a big blue thing apparently wasn't very fulfilling, so going into yet another training session, she was as bloodthirsty as she'd ever been. There was just the question of what she'd be bleeding dry...
"Come on out, you coward!"
Once again, she was met with a rather aggravating opponent, but this time, it didn't even seem particularly fleshy. It was some sort of bug thing hidden inside a rock covered in holes. She honestly would've liked fighting it, assuming it actually fought back. Unfortunately, she was met with another coward who preferred to hide and do almost nothing. Occasionally it would roll around a bit, but it was easy to avoid for the most part and didn't even hurt that much when it managed to get a hit in.
What a big load! Yet again, she was left with an opponent that barely fought back, and didn't even have the common courtesy to plead for mercy! She stopped trying to claw at the ports of the thing's rocky exterior and started striking it hard, seeing if she could break its shell. Unfortunately, doing so would prove easier said than done.

From the looks of things, Retro had gotten a bit soft (metaphorically speaking) during his extended period of inactivity. Thus, going into training again, he seemed very unenthused about the whole experience.
He tackled the punching bag haphazardly, the impact being a lot softer than Clover wanted it to be. It was much like the many weak tackles he'd made already, and he didn't seem particularly motivated to do better next time. This state of affairs was iffy for Clover, to say the least. On the one hand, she wasn't going to be a Debbie Downer and get all bossy, but on the other hand, they were there for a reason, weren't they? If they stopped putting effort into their training, her superiors would probably yell at her for being lazy. Such a reprimand was the last thing she wanted.
"Alright, let's step this up a notch, yeah?" Clover said. "Try using your Curse move before each strike. Should have a pretty good effect, I think."
Retro would've rolled his eye if he were able. Of course that would've increased his striking power, but he didn't think it'd be necessary. They were there for him to train, and that was what he was doing. Swallowing his pride for a moment, Retro cursed under his breath, letting an odd energy consume him before going for another Tackle.

It'd been a while, and Kinito's code was as inscrutably corrupted as it'd ever been. At the very least, it seemed like it could do most of the important things that one would expect a Porygon to be able to do. To verify this, though, it seemed like a good idea to test out Kinito's "features" to make sure they worked.
In front of Kinito was a Wobbuffet that Clover had seen in the Dojo previously. It was a simple Pokemon with a limited movepool, so it seemed like a decent guinea pig for their purposes.
"Alright, first let's go with Conversion," Clover said.
"A-alrighty then! Time for me to - MUTILATE MY INSIDES!"
With a few quick twitches and sounds like those emitted by a fax machine, Kinito seemed to do something to itself. Checking it with her pokedex, Clover could confirm that Kinito was now Psychic-type.
"Awesome!" Clover said happily. "Alright, let's get to the main event now."
Soon enough, the Wobbuffet began to act. It used Counter in place, and Clover directed Kinito to use Conversion 2. One quick conversion later, and Kinito became a Poison-type. From there, things stayed much the same. The Wobbuffet used Mirror Coat? Kinito became Steel-type. Destiny Bond? Dark-type. Safeguard? Ghost-type. It looked like Kinito was working as intended for the time being, so all they really had to do was verify that it stayed that way.
