Sitting just about at the edge of town, Selina was sitting on the bench nearest the entrance, though she had no way of knowing that. She didn’t quite know where she was, relying completely on the guidance of her Pokemon to keep her from getting too lost and, obviously, to keep her from dying. Unfortunately, their well meaning effort to keep their Trainer safe did have a few holes in it. For example, Selina had been avoiding Vester City for quite a while after she realized her Aunt had abandoned her to find her own way.
Domino was aware of it… but none of her other Pokemon were. Domino, as you could imagine, couldn’t even tell the other Pokemon why, but even if she could, it wasn’t a guarantee that they would listen. Lucky for her, Clarity wasn’t there to knowingly confuse them today, but there was still the communication issue. Domino was currently arguing with Miro on why they shouldn’t enter Vester City… though it was more like Domino was throwing a temper tantrum and Miro didn’t really know how to help.
“Emo emon! Monga emo emo, Miro!” Domino shouted at Snivy, who was scratching the back of his head quite perplexed. Domino was quite unique among Pokemon in a sense that she seemed to have… a language all her own. The Emolga shouted and waved her arms all she liked, but no one, human or Pokemon, could understand what she was saying… well, there was one human who more or less could, but…
…She was now blind and deaf.
If Domino allowed herself to think about it for too long, she’d become quite sad, and that wouldn’t be good for now. The Emolga opted not to think about it and simply insisted that they shouldn’t go in. “Domino,” Miro spoke carefully. “Selina’s exhausted. Vester City’s clearly the closest town, we can’t make her walk any further. We have to stop here for the day.”
“Emo emo!” Domino shook her head in defiance, but there was no way for the Snivy to possibly comprehend why. Miro looked up at her Trainer, who looked like she could just about pass out at any moment, before turning to face Domino and standing his ground.
“I know you mean well,” Miro reasoned. “But this is for her own good. She can’t pass out in the middle of the road, I won’t let that happen.”

Milarnie "Arnie" Colt Me, spoilt? I just know what I want....
Mila threw her hands up and gave a small moan as she watched her pokemon, Princess came down behind her and placed a wing on her back for a moment before quickly needing it to keep airborne and the gijinka turned to her and sighed softly. She reached up to the ugly thing, stroking the side of her face which broke the flying type in to a smile before they turned back to the issue at hand.
In the middle of the road, Lena was currently throwing pebbles and dirt and anything she could grab at Hatti who had smeared a huge icy muddy mark across the side of the shiny ralts. Missy was adoring all the mess and was splashing back and forth in what was quickly becoming a mud pile that Hatti was diving from the side to side of, throwing out ice to try and keep the mud solid and give her aggressor less to throw.
"This is a city! This is a place people can see us!" the gijinka hissed, ignored entirely by the warring duo and the child playing with them and earning another whine from the gijinka a few seconds later. They were going to get her one of these times, and as much as Princess kept diving in front of her to save her outfit and hair each time, one of these attempts, she was going to be too slow and mila was getting worried. | NOTES |

Meanwhile, the “argument”, if you could even call it that, between Domino and Miro was pretty much at an impasse where neither Pokemon were willing to budge on their stance. That being said, Domino’s stance on it was still, very much, indiscernible to basically anyone, Pokemon or human. As a result, with neither side giving an inch, Miro was keeping an eye on Selina, and Domino was getting more and more frustrated. “We’ll let her rest for a little longer,” Miro said. “She seems to be catching her breath. But then we have to go into town, there’s no way around it.”
“Mo mo mon!” Domino shook her head incessantly as she pointed at the name of the town and shook her head more. “Selina emo emon!”
“I don’t understand what you’re saying,” Miro shouted in a bit of frustration, placing his hands on his hips. “There isn’t another place to stay for miles, Domino! This is the only choice we have. I’m not making Selina walk any farther than she has to.”
“Emo,” Domino shook her head, her lack of being able to communicate starting to get to her. Electricity started dancing around her as her frustration began to build, and the Snivy quickly began to panic. The young Emolga could be quite emotional at times, but he didn’t remember her ever unleashing an electric attack on him when Selina hadn’t instructed her to do so. The thing that really concerned him was the threat of Domino shocking Selina in this state. “Emooon…!”
Electricity built up even more and Miro really started to panic. “Domino wait-!”
“Gaaaa!” Miro had to duck out of the way of the Squirrel’s Thunder Shock attack, which luckily wasn’t heading for Selina, but in a different direction. Domino unleashed the attack for a solid five seconds before finally snapping out of it and looking around. Miro stood up as well, looking over his shoulder, and then looking back at Domino. Both Pokemon were… a tad concerned that a ruckus was on the horizon to say the least.
“...Let’s hope that it didn't hit anyone.”

Milarnie "Arnie" Colt Me, spoilt? I just know what I want....
What in the sweet hells was that?
The fight had been heating up, Hatti was beginning to catch the ice below her with her claws in a clear sign she was trying to keep out of the way of the fired mud but was having a harder and harder time. Lena was sweating with the effort it was taking to keep attacking, her entirely body now aglow in anger as she kept swing out her one good arm and her eyes tried to bore holes in to the feline. Missy was happily juggling mud over her head, giggling each time it dropped down over herself.
And then, something bright gold shot down through one of the building, running down a drain pipe, and seemed to catch the edge of Princess's wing.
The female stiffened in place, beginning to shake at the attack from nowhere and Mila whirled around as she felt the females wings beginning to twitch against her back. She threw her arms out, trying to catch the huge pokemon as Princess dropped from the air and then turned back to the trio, her horn glowing a pale blue and her eyes now beginning to take the same shade as she shouted.

Just as Miro had vocalized his hope, the two Pokemon heard a rather loud yell at a distance, prompting both Domino and the Snivy to cringe in response. The two of them slowly turned to each other, looking pretty nervous at first, before a leer formed on Miro’s face as Domino formed a rather cheeky smile. The snake tapped his foot on the ground as he glanced in the direction that the scream came from, looking at Domino expectantly.
Domino blinked for a second, trying to figure out why Miro was looking at her like that, when the reason finally dawned on her. The Emolga folded her arms over her chest and stubbornly shook her head, glancing over at Selina before looking back at Miro. The Grass-Type sighed. Right. They were just arguing about whether Selina should go into the city or not, so what was really stopping Miro from bringing Selina there while Domino was gone. “Alright,” Miro sighed before bringing out a vine and poking at something within Selina’s backpack. “Amber.”
There, a napping Vulpix lifted her head out of the bag and yawned before climbing out of the sack onto her Trainer’s lap, and stretching herself across it. After shaking her hind legs to get some feeling back, the drowsy Vulpix shook her head before looking over at the Snivy with a frown. “What’s up?” Amber asked as she sat on her Trainer’s lap.
“Domino caused a bit of a problem,” Miro explained, earning a glare from said Emolga. “We’re going to try and make it right. You stay here and keep an eye on Selina, okay?”
“Sure thing,” The fox cracked her neck a little bit before circling around and curling on Selina’s lap. “By all means, take your time. I might actually get a few minutes of peace and quiet.”
With that out of the way, Domino and Miro made their way into the direction where the scream came from. Now that they were confronting the problem, Domino was looking visibly nervous and remorseful, just as Miro felt she should’ve been. However, upon seeing a rather large looking bat, who appeared injured, in the arms of a rather angry, if strange looking, human with a glowing horn, Miro was starting to be grateful that he went along with Domino.
Still, Domino was the one meant to apologize, so the Snivy nudged the little squirrel forward, prompting her to look back at him pitifully. “Emo emon?” Miro simply folded his arms over his chest in response to her whine, prompting her to sigh out a “Ga…” before walking up to the human girl, and patting on Mila’s ankle gently… it wouldn’t be a surprise if the girl didn’t notice that. “Emonga?” Domino attempted to try and get the girl’s attention, though she wasn’t speaking as loud as she usually would, prompting Miro to roll his eyes.
Yep… Domino could be quite the chicken sometimes.

Milarnie "Arnie" Colt Me, spoilt? I just know what I want....
A few moments passed as mila pulled Princess close to her chest and held her there for a few seconds, listening to the flying type breathing and noting she merely seemed to have been jolted by something and was currently in a state of shock more than really hurt. All the same, she turned to the pokemon out before her and her eyes kept their glow.
Lena slowly dropped the mud she was holding, Hatti stopped her moving around and curled her tail around her paws as both females began to grow largely eyes and very sad looks before mila threw out a hand. "Dont even try it! I invented that move, now apologise!" the gijinka snapped, both pokemon sighing and then rolling their eyes, lena moving to cross her arm over her chest and knitting it in to her prosthetic while hatti's ears twitched.
As neither spoke, Mila took the chance to return Missy who seemed to still be happily bathing in mud herself and was about to turn and snap to the other duo again when a new voice spoke. She twisted around, looking behind her and then across the area only to feel a soft impact at her hoof. Looking down, and noting this was no other trainer or human it seemed, her eyes fell on some pokemon which she didnt know. "Oh arcues now what?" she whined, her voice beginning to pick up its normal pitch and actually stirring the bat in her arms. | NOTES |

“Emon-!” Domino flinched a little at the stranger’s rather harsh response, now suddenly finding it rather hard to find the words she wanted to say… well, even more than usual. “...Emon..” The little squirrel looked over at the Snivy, who had his arms crossed over his chest, and started tapping his foot on the ground impatiently. The Emolga’s ears lowered as she was now contemplating her situation. On one hand, she was meant to try and apologize to this angry looking stranger for zapping her Golbat, which didn’t at all look fun to her.
On the other hand, there was Miro trying to hold her accountable after trying to keep her calm. While she knew he wouldn’t hurt her, she still didn’t like it when he was mad.
So, swallowing a bit of her nerves, Domino turned to face the stranger again and took in a deep breath. “Emo emon!” Domino started trying to explain in… whatever language Domino spoke. Either her nerves were choking her, or she didn’t have the vocabulary to explain her situation. “Monga! Emo emon. Emonga, mon.” Looking around, depending on their reaction, it wouldn’t take long for the young Pokemon to realize they didn’t understand what she was saying.
It was at that point that the squirrel took a different approach. Domino allowed her tail to spark a little bit before pointing at the Golbat that looked stunned in her arms and then looked up at Mila sadly. “Domino sorry… Emon…” Miro unfolded his arms at a distance before walking over to the group.
“I suppose I owe you an apology of my own,” Miro spoke up. “I would’ve said something sooner, but she was the one who recklessly let loose a Thunder Shock, so she’s the one who needed to apologize. She doesn’t really speak well, and got riled up at not being understood and… well, this happened. We apologize, she didn’t mean any harm.”

Milarnie "Arnie" Colt Me, spoilt? I just know what I want....
Holding princess close to her, mila looked over the new arrivals and tried to listen as one spoke but she understood next to nothing of it. Which was odd, for her, and she felt her shoulders roll a little in unease as this should not be how this worked. She frowned as the other pokemon moved closer, speaking for the first and she moved her gaze over the duo before rolling her eyes.
"Is that broken? Or am i? I should be able to understand all of you, no effort, but thats....weird" she asked as she held out one hand and pointed to the first of the pair, then paused and waved it over the form of the mouse looking thing before she looked back to the other one. As what had been said sunk in though, she looked down to her flying type in her arms and her eyes narrowed.
She had assumed it had been her own pokemon being stupid and while she was not totally sure if it was now, she had someone to blame. "So you, both or one of you, i dont care which, just mindless attacked by poor Princess as she was working on trying to evolve? And you dont even have the words to actually say sorry or make it up to her?" she questioned, her tone very much confused as well as accusatory as she narrowed her gaze over th pair again. | NOTES |

The aggressive tone clearly changed Miro’s tune over the whole situation as he squinted his eyes at the Gijinka more cautiously. “She’s not a thing,” he cleared up while trying to remain calm for Domino’s sake. “Our Trainer’s been trying to encourage her to speak better, but she was in an accident of some kind, and we think that’s why she struggles with talking.” The Snivy placed both hands on his hips. “Unfortunately, our Trainer isn’t in the state to be able to explain the situation, otherwise she’d be here right now with us.”
Miro was quickly losing sympathy for this woman, and as he looked over at the Golbat, he simply couldn’t imagine why such a perfectly good Pokemon would want to bond with anyone who acted like such a brat. “Look, it’s like I said,” Miro said. “She didn’t mean any harm. If we didn’t have the intention of making it right, we simply wouldn’t have come here. You can continue to insult my friend, and we can be on our way, or we can discuss how to make this right. Which would you prefer?”
Despite being a Pokemon himself, Miro wouldn’t tolerate any of this woman’s juvenile behavior. He was more than willing to make this right, but not if this woman was going to stand there and try to insult Domino over a mistake, no matter how foolish. Neither of them would have predicted the lightning rod redirecting Domino’s Thunder Shock, and the both of them could’ve easily just ignored the issue altogether for that reason, but they showed up anyway.
Suddenly, Miro was regretting not doing things Domino’s way.

Milarnie "Arnie" Colt Me, spoilt? I just know what I want....
Mila rolled her eyes as the green pokemon explained, nodding to herself as it went on and seemed to use a lot of words and explain a lore of story to her in place of just saying "yes" which would have saved them all time. "So, yes, broken" she summarised before the pokemon went on and Mila chuckled, Hatti quickly cutting in from behind her. "Insults, always insults. Its more fun, you get to be creative and some times, they lead to battles and therefore training" the ice type snickered out, managing to make Mila grin and Lena slip up and smile slightly.
Princess for her part chuckled in her trainers arms before flexing out her wings, wincing, and then trying to right herself. Mila spent a moment shuffling the pokemon so she could sit up a little better, then looking back to the duo. "How? How can you, like the pair of you, make it right? You have no trainer, or one in no state, so thats not going to offer any sort of payment so beyond words which you cannot say, i don't see a resolution" the gijinka replied, her tone that wonderful mix of honest and a little incredulous. | NOTES |

Miro blinked at the Purrloin’s input before forming a smirk on his face. “If it’s a battle you want, I’m sure I can oblige,” the Snivy looked back toward the direction from where they came, not forgetting his Trainer for a second. “Our Trainer has her full team with her back that way. She can’t really give us instructions…” The Snivy’s grin grew as he folded his arms over his chest. “But with how brain dead these humans can be sometimes, I think I, personally, could do a better job without her.”
The Emolga’s ears lowered as she looked over at her companion, quite annoyed. “Emo…” Miro was always quite full of himself, and it didn’t seem to matter what happened, the snake just couldn’t help but act like he was the best fighter at Selina's disposal. Maybe that was true, but even if it was, that wasn’t really saying a whole lot anyway. The young teen was still rather young and inexperienced, so even if Miro was the best she had to offer, was that really anything to brag about?
Miro leered over at the other Trainer’s comment, folding his arms over his chest. “You just claimed that you wanted to raise your friendship with your Pokemon there, right?” Miro reminded her of what she said. “We don’t need our Trainer in order to battle. I’m all any of them need to succeed. I’m not really sure how much friendship your Golbat’s going to gain when you’re gonna lose…” The Snivy’s smirk returned. “But we’ll see what we can do. That a good enough compromise?”
Domino tilted her head a bit at Miro’s stance, before looking over at the Golbat in Mila’s arms and waved at the bat with a remorseful smile on her face.
“Meet us over in that direction,” Miro instructed. “Our Trainer is sitting at the entrance of the city with a Vulpix on her lap. If it’s a battle you want, that’s where you’ll find us.” And without giving Mila a chance to retort, Miro dashed in the direction that Selina was still sitting, prompting Domino to desperately scurry after him.
So? Would Mila take the challenge?

Hatti was the first to spring to her paws when she heard the grass type speak, very much hoping her baiting comment was able to set the other pokemon off and then smug to see it seemed to have worked. As her tail flicked out around her, mila looked over the green thing as it kept speaking and she rolled her eyes. "Full of yourself, aren't you. Think you can back that up? We'll happily take you on, anything you can offer" the gijinka said with one hand resting on her hip and the other pointing down to the duo.
The woman was about to say more when the duo started off, the trainer looking to her own pokemon before she shifted herself. She began to recall them all, they needed to rest if she was going to be battling them all after all, beside princess who she kept in her arms until everyone was safely back in their pokeballs and then started after the pair from before, determined to find them and their twit of a trainer, seeing as even they seemed to think that. | NOTES |

As the two Pokemon ran back to their Trainer, Amber had been napping on Selina’s lap before her ear started twitching as the two Pokemon who had left a bit ago returned. The fox slowly winked one of her eyes open before sitting up as the Emolga and Snivy approached. “So did you guys get that all straightened up?” The Vulpix asked with a stretch, getting ready to slip back into her Trainer’s bag for some peace and quiet as the two would probably inevitably start arguing again.
Miro smirked at the Fire-Type, causing her to tilt her head a little bit. “Sort of,” Miro said as he gathered the Pokeballs containing Selina’s Pokemon that were on hand. “We were challenged to a battle to make up for the accident. Or maybe I challenged her? Doesn’t really matter, we’re gonna battle right now.”
Amber blinked a couple of times before squinting at the Snivy. “Are you sure that’s a good idea?” the Vulpix questioned with a tilt of her head. “Some of us have never actually battled before, y’know, and we don’t exactly have Selina to give us any instructions.” With an arched eyebrow, the fox looked up at her Trainer, quite a bit concerned for her.
“It’ll be fine,” Miro insisted. “I don’t need her input to win.”
Amber leered at the Snivy a bit. “Didn’t you hear what I just said?” Amber scoffed before shaking her head. “Look, I know you’re a great battler, but this isn’t just about you, y’know. Do you honestly think Selina would get into a full on battle with the team she has right now?”
Miro paused for a second as he thought. Amber was certainly not a great candidate for a battle, considering she’s never so much as trained before. She probably wasn’t going to do well. Tusk was always up for a battle, but he was kind of in over his head, and while his guts were nothing to sneeze at, that wasn’t enough to win a battle. Solaris was certainly someone with great potential on the battlefield, but last time Arthur battled, he lost. On top of that, Selina released his mother seemingly out of nowhere, and his spirits have been a little low ever since.
That left himself and Domino, Selina’s most used and most reliable battlers, though if you asked Miro he was more so. That left them with half the team with high odds at winning and the other half with low odds of doing well.
Despite all of this, Miro’s confidence didn’t falter. “You worry too much,” Miro mocked, causing the Vulpix to roll her eyes at his arrogance. “You won’t need to worry because she won’t defeat me. I’ll sweep her entire team, just you watch.”
Even Domino wasn’t incredibly impressed by Miro’s antics as she squinted at the snake rather unimpressed. “...Emon.” Domino shook her head at Miro’s self centeredness, finding it ironic that he had scolded her earlier for doing something reckless, and here he was doing something even more reckless. But that was okay because Miro was doing it, right?
Why did she have the feeling things weren’t going to go well?

Milarnie "Arnie" Colt Me, spoilt? I just know what I want....
As she walked, Mila began to wonder what exactly she had just agreed to. She was confident in all her pokemon of course but what was she putting them in here? A load of battles against one pokemon each, or a big chunk of them back to back like the gym leaders did, or just a double battle here and that was done because two of them had messed up. She shook her head and focused on walking, but after a while, the feeling of her pokemons wings in her arms brought her mind back to battling.
She didnt do it much, and if their trainer was useless as they seemed to say, it was most likely to merely be whatever the pokemon wanted. She knew her team, hatti and Lena would want to battle if they got half a chance and Missy always liked to stick her nose in for the fun, not the experience. Princess needed the work, but she needed a win and Mila was not going to let her get hurt. All that being said, as she spotted the pokemon again and marched over, her confidence act was back on as she paused in front of the group, moving a hand to her hip again and looked to them expectantly. | NOTES |

And waiting for Mila was a rather confident Snivy, arms folded over his chest, and a smirk displayed on his face. Behind him was a young woman, Selina, sitting on a bench at the entrance of the city, as well as Domino, the Emolga from earlier, sitting on the teen’s lap. Any attempt to get the teen’s attention would fail unless you were to touch her and… good luck doing that without getting at the other end of a Thunder Shock from Domino. Perhaps the image spoke for itself, but even if it didn’t, every Pokemon that would come to play would paint a clear picture: as confident as Miro was, he was tense.
And so was all of Selina’s other Pokemon.
“You’re not going to get very far,” Miro spoke rather smugly as he smirked. “Your battle’s gonna begin and end with me. So get ready, because I’m gonna take you down.” The stiff Snivy widened his stance as he held his arms out, glaring at the Trainer and her Pokemon ahead of her. He then glanced over at his Trainer as she stroked a hand over Domino’s head… it was the only thing she knew how to do when the world felt so dark and empty.
Miro talked a big game, but in reality he was mostly just trying to keep his spirit up. He didn’t want to admit it, but Selina’s condition worried him… a lot. He hadn’t been the kindest to her for very long, and she was in one massive pummel after another. Perhaps he thought everyone could use a battle to get their minds off of the problems they had… sure it wasn’t likely they would win, not without Selina. None of them were used to battling without her…
…But even if they didn’t win, he was certain something would be gained out of it: everyone deserved an opportunity to ignore reality for a little while.
So he brought his attention back to Mila, a smirk so wide one could swear it was fake, as he pointed at the horned human. “C’mon! Give it your best shot! You’re gonna need it, or you’re bound to lose.”

Important Info
Season
Good news, Autumn is here! The sticky heat of the summer is finally gone, but the bad news? Its gotten very cold very fast. Berrys have fallen early from their perches, fruit and food is getting caught in snap frosts and icy mornings and this is leading to very cold mornings, pokemon getting desprate quickly and dark and chilly evenings
Next season change ~ May 20th
Swarming Pokemon!
Encouraged Characters
Currently, our character numbers are pretty even, so aside from us gently encouraging more civilians and breeders...go nuts!
Numbers of Gijinka on site have dropped, too, so they're open to be applied for at the moment- though, if you're interested, go check out the adoptable threads for many wanted ones! They could always use players! ;-)
