Corner store reading glasses with frames knocked out made for a decent disguise. If it worked for a certain super man, it would work for him, too, right? Though, a beanie with his locs tucked in for extra measure couldn’t hurt. Figuring he had dressed down quite well, Laurent wandered the shelves of Twisted Tales of Tails. He’d done very well in a recent course, and that called for a little treat… Like, figuring out if he wanted to join a gaming session with a group or such. He hadn’t done that since he’d come to Shula and he was sorely missing it.
Marshal sat atop the man’s shoulder, looking over the selections. He didn’t know quite what to make of everything. It all seemed very well made, but it was just games, wasn’t it?
“I didn’t know they made a Hisuian Survey board game,” Laurent noted, picking it up from the shelf and turning it over in his hands.
The froakie repeated in confusion. “Hisuian… Survey?”
“It’s an old game,” the breeder explained, “from waaay long ago. The graphics were, like, pretty terrible.” He chuckled. “You can still find it if you look online. Anyways, it’s a game where you manage the resources for this Sinnohan survey corp until they complete their pokedex. Kinda hard.”
“... Couldn’t you just go out and fill out your pokedex, instead?”
Laurent rolled his eyes. “It’s different. I can’t experience what it was like to be in ancient Hisui.”
“What you need to experience is this hot litwick cocoa.” Sirene joined them on the aisle, holding cup carefully with both of her forelegs. She sipped and licked the foam away from her mouth.
Laurent looked at Marshal, awaiting a translation.
“She said the cocoa here is good,” the froakie explained.
“Is it? Good for ya!” The man grinned. “Hey, we need some games, too! Something we can all play together.”
The scyther tilted her head. “Hm. If you say so.” She looked longingly out the window. “Too bad the weather’s cruddy.”
