The winding maze of twisted trees that lay before Clover that night was hardly what she'd been anticipating for herself as All Hallows' Eve approached.

Granted, she hadn't exactly been in the loop enough to know just what sort of festivities the local Shulians had to offer, but she'd still been excited nonetheless, because...well, how couldn't she be, really? Halloween was fun! She could go to a party, or see a concert...hell, she could even go trick-or-treating if she just wanted free candy. However, what lay before her was a bit more low-key than the former two, and she wasn't even sure what to expect to get out of a maze that didn't even involve corn. Still, it had to be good if people had put so much effort into it.

"This is not the rambunctious romp I was promised," Mileena grumbled disappointedly. After the effort she'd gone in making herself look like a psychotic blonde schoolgirl, she'd obviously been expecting something more exciting than a simple maze.

"Hey-hey hey! Don't worry, friend-acquaintance, I'm sure this'll be - grrrrreat!" Kinito tried to reassure her. "I've always wanted to get-to get lost in the - sauce - of a good maze!" The Porygon hadn't done much to prepare aside from coat itself in black and white paint and give itself two new eye colors, but nonetheless, Clover's little virtual buddy seemed rather excited for what lay before them. What Kinito was expecting to get out of the experience, who knew, but at least one of her Pokemon were enthused.

Clover glanced over at the entrance to the tree maze before them, standing tall amidst all the festive stuff that'd been strewn about for participants to indulge in. "I'm guessing we're supposed to just step in and get exploring? If so...I guess there's not much else to do but step in and see what happens!"

The festivities begin!

As the brave Clover Frost and her two pokemon companions venture into the corn maze starting designated path, a thick white fog begins to seep out from between the tall stalks of corn from all around them. The fog thick enough to only allow them to see up to the third or fourth rows of stalks. Beyond that, it was pitch black.

And if they dared to look behind them, they were meant with the same thick fog that wouldn’t allow them to see the starting point. Strangely enough, the haze doesn’t seem to fill the walkway itself in front of them other than a light dusting at their feet. It was almost like the fog was guiding them, urging them forward into the unknown of the maze.

Hollow ghostly ghouls and sinister high pitched snickers slowly begin to pick up in both volume and intensity, a few of them seemingly getting close while others seemed to be still some distance away. Every once in a while, rustling in the stalks could be heard to their left or right. But if they dared to look, whatever it was would quickly vanish into the thick fog. How creepy.

Finally after several minutes of walking through whatever the hell was going on in the corn maze around them, the path is divided into two different direction. One splits off slightly to the left while the other splits off slightly to the right. Both paths look identical, nothing giving them a hint as to what could either path lead too. In the center of the divide, a single simple beat up board sign held up by a two by four barely pounded into the earth stood. On it, crimson red sloppy dripping letters state for them to pick left or right. Around them, low scratchy cackling voices added into the already haunted ambiance calling for them to pick one. The longer they lingered, the louder they got.

Initially, Clover and the gang didn't think much of the maze itself, figuring it'd be something they'd be able to wander through without much concern, hopefully encountering some spooky stuff along the way. However, before they could get far, things got...interesting. As the fog rolled in and visibility became limited, Clover became a bit surprised for a moment. Who'd done that, and for that matter, how'd they do it? Obviously, the maze was a little more than meets the eye, but then again, that wasn't really a bad thing, was it? If anything, that development made her all the more interested in seeing what they'd find as they progressed.

As they moved forward, and things became increasingly unsettling, Clover's Pokemon paid close attention to their surroundings. Granted, it was hard to see what was around them, but they could certainly hear some creepy stuff both nearby and far away. Kinito's head was almost on a swivel, each sudden noise causing its body to jerk unnaturally in response. "J-jinkies!" the Porygon exclaimed. "This place is already scarier - more frightening - than I thought it'd be! What-what kind of DARK MAGIC went into making this maze?"

Mileena, on the other hand, was a little bit more relaxed. Sure, what was happening around them sure seemed creepy, but surely it was all for show. She wasn't going to let herself fall victim to the maze's wiles so easily, was she? Besides, a part of her was kind of glad that the maze wasn't as boring as she thought it was going to be.

Eventually, they made their way to an intersection, and glanced from side to side. It didn't seem like there was much of a difference between the two paths in front of them, but they figured a different experience awaited them, depending on which path they chose. After some deliberation, they decided to go left, figuring it was as good a choice as any.

Spoooky...

As soon as a path was chosen, the high pitched crackling of voices for them to pick a side settled down. And in its place, a deeper throatier voice mumbled ‘Perfect’ in a malicious tone on repeat. At first, loud and audible but quickly decreasing in volume and intensity with each step they took down the LEFT until it was no longer heard.

For the next several steps, there was nothing new added to the maze experience. It was dead silent. No more was there rustling of corn stalks or ghostly cries, it was just them in a foggy corn maze. That was, until a rather loud and obnoxious feminine voice rang out.

“It’s not even scary in here,” the nasally voices spoke loudly, her foots steps closely become more noticeable by the second, “Like- I get it. Ohhh- Its dark. And ohhh- it’s foggy. But like, I’m NOT scared at all.” Just as she said this, a mysterious monstrous roar erupted from somewhere in the maze. Whoever was just talking screamed on the top of their lungs and gasped for air.
