Maybe he ought to do something about his little apartment one day. The Fox Estate was sprawling and quite frankly picturesque at this time of year. The numerous coniferous trees stood in sharp green contrast to the smatterings of their yellow-red-orange broad leafed brethren blending into the deeper portions of Mossrock Forest. Eugene looked tenderly upon the old training course and it took all of Susanna’s discipline to not feel bad about it. They could just visit parks. They could visit all of the parks all the time. Now that he was a coordinator, he could spend all of his time and energy on his pokemon. That much was nice, at least. But, it wasn’t just him and his new white furred companion. There was the actual owner of the estate and kin of his pup to refocus the conversation on. “Thanks for inviting us back out for a check in, Miss Fox.” Even as he spoke, it was hard for him to keep his eyes the woman. Having grown up in the city and worked so much in urban areas, all of this rural ambience was a little distracting! “We’ve been getting along just great!”The evidence of that was clear: Eugene stood so close to the pale haired man that the furfrou’s lush coat, still in its less defined uncut form, was all skew from continually pressing against Susanna’s pants. There was hardly an inch between them even when either shifted. Quixotic of THQ

[attr="class","icon"] Believe it or not, not many people come to visit the breeder at her house in Mossrock Forest. Most, if not all, want to meet up outside of her home location somewhere else in Shula. It never bothered her. In fact, it made sense. After all, this was her private home. Yes, she had the builders build her a ‘home office’. But, some aren’t comfortable visiting someone’s home that they didn’t truly know.[break][break]
So as expected, it came as somewhat of a surprised that Susanna, a person she recently sold one of her lovely canine’s too, wanted to come over and visit for a little bit. Again, not that Genesis minded it at all. This was a reason she had a home office built. It was just a surprise that after being here for so long and only now, having one of her ‘clients’ come to her private dwelling.[break][break]
“Sit still Togo,” the woman grumbled lowly, holding the energetic canine by the collar with one hand and firmly brushing his thick ivory fur with the other, “I just want to get your hair smooth.” The furfrou let out a long whine, short tail wagged feverishly as his eyes fixed onto a new comer merging from the worn down path that led to his home. “But someone is here.”[break][break]
Green orbs lifted, meeting the gaze of the white haired man. She smiled, letting go of Togo. And in that instant, the furfrou darted towards the other human. Muzzle parted, tongue flopped around as he leaped joyfully towards the human in hopes to get lots of pets.[break][break]
As Togo darted towards the ‘stranger’ without a second thought, the breeder swiftly turned to place the brush down by her door before turning back to their visitor. Luckily, the breeder recalled most of her pokemon before his arrival so no chaos greetings for him. Well… mostly. Togo leaped into the air just a few feet from him, only to land somewhat gracefully and plop his butt on the ground. Eager eyes lifted to the man, tail sweeping the grass as he waited to be petted by this human.[break][break]
“Welcome to my home Mister Rosenbaum,” Genesis called over in greetings as she strolled closer to them, a friendly smile spread across her deep red glossy lips, “Please don’t mind him. He’s just eager to meet you.” Togo waited patiently, butt wiggling harder the longer he made him wait. “I’m glad to hear that you and Eugene are getting along,” she continued once closer, a hand rose to giver her signature finger wiggle wave before her gaze fell down to said canine, “He certainly seems to have stuck to you well.” She let out a light chuckle, whether he found her little joke funny or not before her gaze lifted back to Susanna. “Tell me, how have you two been doing?”

What an affectionate furfrou! Yet, Susanna had hardly laid a hand upon the other normal type when Eugene whined and rested is huge head parallel to the coordinator’s stomach. He looked up, giving Sue the biggest puppy eyes possible. And, just as quickly has it had begun, Togo’s brief petting session came to a conclusion so the puppy could be patted. “This is the sire, right? I see where Eugene gets that nice personality from!”As soon as Susanna went to give Togo one last pet, Eugene huffed but sat beside his partner patiently all the same. “Pretty good, I’d say,” he explained. The pleasant atmosphere of her estate had already put him at ease, but her joke put him further at ease. “He’s a great jogging partner. We’re still going over his moves, but I think he’s got lots of potential in contests. Though, we’re still trying to find a groomer who can handle this much fur…”He ruffled his own normal type’s thick coat affectionately. “I’m not quite used to it. My starter’s a fluff ball, but this next level! My hand didn’t even hit his skin just now!”The species had its signature ability for a reason, he supposed. Quixotic of THQ

[attr="class","icon"] Togo was beyond thrilled to feel the pets from this stranger, struggling to keep his overwhelming excitement under control as he wiggled harshly under the human males affection. Though as he did, the breeder silently noted how well he was doing at this moment. Normally, Togo would start to jump at others and almost knock them over because they weren’t petting him enough. Good boy Togo. But when the pets from this stranger stopped, Togo let out a small whine at the stranger and tried to give him the big old sad puppy eyes in hopes to get even more.[break][break]
“That’s enough Togo,” the breeder spoke softly, tapping the side of her leg to call the boy to her, “You got his attention. Come here.” Togo let out another whine, but quickly turned to rush over to Genesis and sit by her side. The woman smiled at the puppy, gingerly petting his head before her gaze lifted to Susanna’s once more. “Yes,” she replied sweetly, letting out a small chuckle, “Togo would be his father. A very friendly furfrou indeed. Good to hear that Eugene inherited a good trait from him. Hopefully, not as demanding on the affection as much as he though.” Of course, the breeder was simply playfully joking to keep the conversation light.[break][break]
It was nice to see one of her canine’s offspring so well adapted to their new owner, even better to see them in such great condition with how many trainers don’t take care of their pokemon as well as others. “Oh I see! His coat does seem thicker than normal. And perhaps, his undercoat darker as well. It’s always fascinating to see how some genetics play out in offspring. Either way, glad that you found a good work out partner. I’m sure those runs help keep his energy level in check. As for his thicker coat…” the breeder paused, a single hand rose to tap on her chin a few times trying to think of a better way to handle a thicker coat before her hand fell back down to gingerly pet Togo to keep him calm by her side, “I haven’t heard of a well known groomer in Shula yet. I, personally, groom my own pokemon though I wouldn’t call me an expert. Perhaps check around town, see if there is a shop that specializes in grooming and see if they have any recommendations.” It was worth a shot, right?

Eugene was relieved when his father’s human called him off. While it was nice to see Togo, seeing Susanna pet the other furfrou while Eugene was right there… Well, it just made Eugene feel rotten. He’d settled in so nicely in his new home and Susanna was such good support. He couldn’t quite explain his feelings, but he knew he felt better when Susanna’s focus was on him and he was close to the coordinator.
“Hey, what’s the point of having a pokemon if you aren’t going to spoil them?” Susanna asked with a laugh.
He wasn’t really joking, but there was no need to clarify how serious his response to Genesis’s joke was.
“I may get supplies recommendations before we leave, then. But, yeah, I’ll try browsing around… Kinda wish there were still phone books.” He shook his head and ruffled his hair. “Internet reviews just don’t cut it…”
While the humans chatted, Eugene found it in himself to peel away from Susanna some. He stood, tilting his head. The pup wagged his tail gently. “Hello. How’s Mom? Have you seen any of my brothers recently…?”
There, that was a start! He felt his nerves waning as he spoke. Why was he so cautious, anyways? This place used to be his home. And, he hadn’t been gone that long.

[attr="class","icon"] The gentlemen had a point. What was the point of having a pokemon if you can’t spoil them at least a little in their lifetime? What would be the fun in that? Always dragging them out, forcing them to battle their heart out and get stronger without even spoiling them or give them a treat every now and then. Is that pokemon abuse? Ew.[break][break]
Either way, the raven haired woman hold her smile and even let out her own light chuckle at his playful joke. And when he mention he would like some tips and tricks from her, Genesis honestly didn’t mind sharing her limited knowledge currently on how to professionally groom pokemon. After all, she was a breeder not a groomer. If anything, this would provide a great opportunity to learn off each other and maybe expand their own know hows. “Absolutely! Maybe we can teach other other something!”[break][break]
Meanwhile, Togo really tried hard to sit by his trainers side as she spoke with the other human. This was so hard for the poor pup. All he wanted was attention and right now, her gentle pets on the head just didn’t scratch the itch he graved. Ears fell back slightly, letting out the smallest softest impatient whine he could manage. This was torture![break][break]
Luckily though, the sound of a somewhat familiar voice caught to attention. Sad eyes turned, gaze upon his offspring. His mood changed, almost strangely. Ears perked up, small tail wagged back and forth. “Oh right. Mischa,” he started, shifting his weight so he could scratch behind his ear, “She’s good… Always finding something to do… Wondering about you kids and how life is going for you. You know?” Togo paused, kicking his foot one more time to get that itch good before sitting normally again. His head tilted, almost like he was puzzled at the finally question. “You mean your half brother or litter mates?” He passed again, though answered before his boy could reply. “Your half brother lives with us. But as for litter mates, they all got adopted too. Not sure who they went too, but I’m sure my master knows.”

Teach each other something? For a moment, Sue was surprised. Huh, yeah. He supposed he could develop new skills. Yeah! Actually, he’d totally develop new skills! Maybe he’d get so good at managing his own team’s plentiful fur that he’d master it!
… It’d make a good “get around to it eventually” goal, like his dream of writing a play, at least. Ho-hum.
“I’ll brush up on my knowledge, then.” He snorted. “Get it? Brush up?”
His father’s good mood rubbed off on Eugene. The pup found his tail thumping against the ground lightly. “That sounds like Mom. And, uh, I meant either…”
While Eugene knew not everyone was from the same litter, when there was the spared species factor (spare littermate), it was hard to remember they didn’t share full parentage.
“Oh! I’ll see if Susanna can ask, then. ... Or, I could ask myself. She understands us very well, for the most part.” He straightened up, gathering his nerve. “It’s nice that Koda got to stay.” A tilt of the head and a little yip of amusement. “There’s actually another Koda in my new home! He’s very reliable… Susanna calls on him first, usually.” The pup’s ears drooped a bit. “I want to become strong so he’ll rely on me, too.”

[attr="class","icon"] “Koda is doing great,” Togo replied almost instantly, stubby tail wagged as his kin returned the joyous mood, “He seems happy. Although he may not have siblings to play with, there are plenty of others here to plat with. In fact, I think Genesis has him in his ball right now.” His headed tilted to one side, ears twitched in curiosity. “Did-Did you want to see him?” For him, he was used to seeing his first born son. He was around all the time. But for Eugene, this would be the first time he would see him. “Of course! Let me see if she will let him out!” He turned, large eyes on the human waiting for her to be done talking like the good boy he was.[break][break]
Leave it to Genesis to be the one to laugh at a little joke like that when others may scoff or otherwise frown upon such a poke. The edges of her deep red glossy lips turned up even more, a light chuckle that escaped her already liking this Sue more than most. “I do indeed,” she replied, chuckling a little more before continuing, “That was a good one.”[break][break]
As soon as she was done giggling, Togo stood up to get her attention. He pawed at her leg, grabbing her attention as green eyes fell upon him. “Can Koda come out?” Genesis nodded to him, reaching into her pockets to pluck out a sphere. Togo took several steps back, tag wagged feverishly. He casted a glance to Eugene, giving him a nod in yes before turning back to the raven haired woman. Genesis chuckled, releasing said canine from his chambers.[break][break]
A brillant flash of light only lasted seconds, revealing yet another furfrou to join the party. However upon being released, there was something different about him. No, it wasn’t his behavior. Kodak’s tail wagged eagerly, muzzle parted to pant. Instead, it wasn his fur. It was not lushes like Eugene or even fluffy like his fathers. In fact, it seems patchy and hardly any was on him. How strange.[break][break]
“Hey Koda,” Togo greeted his son, moving in nose to nudge him lovingly before stepping away, “I have someone here who would like to meet you.” The father of the two bothers stepped to the side, allowing Koda to see younger brother. “Koda… this Is Eugene.” His gaze turned to Eugene. “Eugene, this is your older brother Koda.” Koda’a head shifted to the side, much like how his fathers did when puzzled for a moment. “Brother?”

Eugene wagged his tail and tilted his head with his jaw held in a loose pant—a doggish laugh as it were. It made sense for his father to not realize that Eugene would want to see his brother, but seeing the realization hit the older male was still a little funny. “Yeah, I’d like that. Thank you.”
Susanna was beaming. Who wouldn’t after getting off a weak joke like that and still getting audience approval? Clowns like him lived for that kind of stuff.
And, as another treat, he realized a little of what Togo was saying. It was similar to the language Eugene used, but some of it eluded him. They weren’t bonded at all, so there was that. All of the puzzling went away when the third furfrou showed up. Susanna realized he was staring just in time to stop doing that.
Did the poor guy have mange? Or, was this why Genesis didn’t use groomers? Had someone made him lose a fight to a pair of clippers?!
Eugene, meanwhile, made himself leave Susanna’s side. He wagged his tail low, trying to look appeasing. “Hello! Haha, oh, wow, what a funny way to meet…! To meet my brother…”
Not used to the body language of canine pokemon, Susanna looked toward Genesis. “They’re getting along, right?”

[attr="class","icon"] Koda was told he had siblings, both litter mates and younger than him. However, this was the first time the oldest sibling has actually met another one of his kin. His own blood. And for a moment, Koda was taken back at the sight. This, Eugene, furfrou looked just like him in many ways. Yet, this supposed brother was much more… furrier than him. Gaze shifted from his father pure white fluffiness to his ‘brothers’ white puffiness, then body twisted to see his own patchiness on his rear end. Why? Why wasn’t he fluffy?[break][break]
But before the realization that he was indeed different from his family, his newly discovered brother spoke and turning his attention away from this fact. “Hello,” Koda replied cheerfully, skinny furless tail started up in a wag once more, “Yeah! I’m Koda. And you are, Eugene. It’s nice to meet you finally brother!” A sudden burst of unbounded energy jolted through the canine, instantly falling into a playful bow with his hindquarters in the air. “Do you want to play? I like to play. We can play chase. You can be it. Or, I can be it. OR! OR! OR! Dad can be it.” His energetic eyes fell to his dad, tail wagging feverishly.[break][break]
Without hesitation, Togo fell into the same playful bow. His own hindquarters in the air, fluffy tail wagged as his gaze darted from both of his children. “I can play chase.” Togo’s gaze fell to his youngest pup, a brow rose to him. “But only if Eugene wants to play.” Both set of canine fell upon the newcomer, waiting for a response.[break][break]
As soon as her two canine’s fell into the ‘let’s play’ bow, the smile on her deep red glossy lips widened even further. Green orbs flickered to Sue, giving him a nod when he asked if they were getting alone. “Very. Just give it a minute, and you’ll see.” Genesis could sense to zoomie episode about to happen.

The play bows were easy to follow. Some of the anxious energy that had been building up with even the few steps Eugene had taken from Susanna’s side simmered back down as the furfrou bowed to mimic his family.
“We can play!”
Oh, right, if Togo was it, then they should run! Standing up just as quickly, Eugene yipped at Koda. “Let’s go!”
With that, the non-resident darted off. He still remembered the layout pretty well. Black paws pounded over the estate.
True enough to Genesis’s words, the furfrous (assuming Togo and Koda took off, too) ran off. “Huh,” he breathed out, mystified and intrigued. He assumed they were about to get into a little rough housing. He got that; he adored it himself. Recalling how fun sparring and training had been back in his days as an officer actually made him a little jealous of the dog-like pokemon.
Maybe he should sign up for kick boxing or something? He missed fighting, even for practice.
“You were spot on.” He chuckled. “But, that makes sense. You’ve got a rep for bein’ good with this kinda pokemon, from what I’ve heard.” Then, he gestured around. “And, y’know, your whole set up hints toward that.”

[attr="class","icon"] Togo and Koda held their playful bows, both pair of eager eyes and tails swished back and forth waiting to see if their fellow furfrou wanted to play. And as soon as Eugene mimicked their bow, it was game on! Togo let out a playful yip of a bark, turning on a dime to dart off in a different direction from his sibling. Meanwhile, Togo eyed them both. Silently debating for a moment on who to chase after, only to pick in the matter of seconds. “I’m coming for you Eugene!” With that, the supposable father figure darted off towards the youngest of the two. Tail tagging, heart racing, and ears flopping.[break][break]
The raven haired woman beamed at the sight, a light chuckle as the ‘adult’ furfrou choice to chase after the youngest of the two brothers. Her green orbs fell onto Sue when he spoke, shoulders rose and fell in a casual shrug. “Thanks. I’ve always had this natural pull towards pokemon who are more canis in their genus.” Genesis paused briefly, observing as the canine’s ran further and further away from them. Luckily, she owned a big chunk of land so they shouldn’t be in any dangerous for the most part. Though, wild pokemon do stumble upon her land. Best to keep an ear out. Just in case. “My mother would joke and say I must’ve been a canine pokemon in my past life. That was the only explanation for my-“ the woman held her hands up to give air quotes “-‘special connection’ with them.” Again, she paused to return her gaze to Sue and offered a light chuckle. “Crazy, right?”

Though his build was not immediately obviously lesser than his peers, Eugene was younger than the two. He was less swift on his paws and his father was already catching up! A high energy yip and whine tore from the youngest’s maw. It was so exciting it made him a little nervous!
Sue watched as Togo caught up to Eugene. They seemed to be playing nice enough… Yeah, okay.
“Well, it’s different,” he offered. “Never heard of that kind of thing.”
Around a decade ago, no one had ever heard of gijinka or Team Diamond Crystal or any of the other exciting things happening around Shula, either, so maybe it was possible. The man tilted his head and thought about it. “... Nah. I dunno. Maybe it’s not crazy.”
He toward the woman, turning his head slightly upward to meet her gaze. (Yeesh! Good for her, Susanna thought jealously, though he certainly wouldn’t mind being taller himself. There were so many people running around six foot even in the region… What a collection of giants.) “More magical things have happened.” Then, to keep the tone light, he tacked on a little extra: “I think I’d wanna be one of those swarming water types. Y’know the ones, uh, more common in Alola?”
Meanwhile, Eugene’s excitement was brewing. Something more substantial than a mere game of tag might be due. He was far from Susanna and this was all so very stimulating.

Important Info
Season
Good news, Autumn is here! The sticky heat of the summer is finally gone, but the bad news? Its gotten very cold very fast. Berrys have fallen early from their perches, fruit and food is getting caught in snap frosts and icy mornings and this is leading to very cold mornings, pokemon getting desprate quickly and dark and chilly evenings
Next season change ~ May 20th
Swarming Pokemon!
Encouraged Characters
Currently, our character numbers are pretty even, so aside from us gently encouraging more civilians and breeders...go nuts!
Numbers of Gijinka on site have dropped, too, so they're open to be applied for at the moment- though, if you're interested, go check out the adoptable threads for many wanted ones! They could always use players! ;-)
