Five pokeballs. One location. And… A sort of aimless goal on where he was headed. Susanna had originally been tempted to take his team out to one of the more water focused parts of Shula, but only Lake Laleh seemed, well, safe. And, during the spring and summer, that place was crowded.
Actually, it was crowded year round…
At any rate, they were out and about today! Sue swapped his typical hoodies and long pants for a pair of shorts and boots along with a breezy long sleeved tee. There! Now he could be cool enough but still comfortably covered. He got cold surprisingly easy, so it was better to risk being too warm than freeze even on this pleasant spring day. The Stillwood Jungle was very shady, after all.
Meanwhile, Brock clung to Susanna’s shoulders. He wasn’t especially interested in what the woods had to offer. He really wasn’t looking forward to battling, but he knew the more pokemon Susanna caught, the less likely he would be expected to do anything like this in the future. Besides, maybe he would be able to stay on Sue’s shoulder and just fire off his moves like that?
Who knew.
“I hear ralts are pretty common here,” Sue chattered as he tapped through his pokedex. “Oh, or a noibat! Those are cute, definitely very fluffy.” He grinned. “Oh, man, Brock, we could really make a fantastic new friend today.” He chuckled and then all of his excited energy burst out with a little stomping-dance. He even picked up Brock off his shoulder and twirled.
“I love pokemon so much!! Let’s make a great new friend today, Brock!”
“I’m dizzy, Sue…”

Gender - ? / Ability - ? / Level - ? / Moves - ? The sun's crept over the jungle, shining lights down into the forest floor. Rays of light barely going through the canopy as this silent day begins to be interrupted by a trainer and their pokemon. The excited energy seeming to be spreading through the jungle itself as leaves bristle for just a moment. The jungle is alive with noises. Pokemon running around as the sounds of wings flap and the bug pokemon chitter about. It's noisy and alive, but as time goes, there's almost a silence that waits for a moment with the sound of a human coming by. Bugs squirming into their homes, birds flapping away from the canopies. As the trainer twirls, talking to their pokemon, eyes watch from behind a tree almost curiously.
The little pokemon watches with a curiosity as they keep themselves hidden for a moment. The twirling seemed to be the reason the pokemon is watching from afar. The sound is usually meant to be avoided, but the small breeze and the scent of something, unusual had brought them out. Except, as they watch them, there's almost a confused look to it's eyes before it ducks back underneath the leaves of the tree nearby, hoping to be unseen. Except, the pokemon makes a mistake. The crunch of a branch as it squeaks out a bit of a panicked sound, almost like a rustling sound. Staying still, it waits and waits to see if it'll be noticed. A small round pokemon with green feet almost frozen trying to blend in with the leaves.

Heeding Brock’s very mild protest, Susanna put the zigzagoon back on his shoulder only to have his attention caught by a distinct crack.
Old training kicked in immediately. Figuring himself to be safe enough in Shula’s wilds, Susanna didn’t take on a defensive position. Rather, he grew curious. Was it a person avoiding battle? No, the snap of the stick or branch or something had come from a place where the foliage was rustling too… well, the amount of rustling didn’t suit a human of any size fit to travel in the wilds alone might make.
So, that left one option: it had to be a small pokemon.
Glee struck Susanna. At once, he dropped down to a squatting position and held his arms out.
“Hi! Did I spook you? Or, am I in your territory? Come on out, let’s chat!! Maybe we could get to know one another through battle! I hear that’s how you get to know pokemon!” the man cheerfully greeted. His tone was melodious, joy putting him on the verge of singing instead of speaking.
For all of the hullabaloo, Brock only huffed. Great. Possibly their first encounter and Sue was already offering him up as a battling partner. He didn’t even know what was in there… Sometimes, his trainer came off as very desperate.

Gender - Female / Ability - Quick Feet / Level - 13 / Moves - Absorb, Tackle, Stun Spore, Leech Seed, Mega Drain, Drain Punch There's no escape. It's what her mother always said when the humans get too close. If they've seen her, she's as good as doomed. Freezing was the only option she had; stuck trying to resemble the foliage around her. If she doesn't get spotted, she could walk away from here. All she had wanted to see was what the pleasant scent on the wind had been, but she's gotten herself here. It's a tense moment before she watches the human get down to her level. Was she spotted? Shroomish could feel herself tense at the movement, only to shiver once as if the leaves around her wouldn't stop shaking. The openness was curious, nothing like the humans her mother always talked about. She's an adult now. She had to be strong. No one was going to come to her rescue anymore.
The voice is cheerful; melodic in a way that she couldn't trust. Weren't humans destructive? It's fear inducing to hear such a pleasant voice talk about territory and battles. Shroomish wasn't really sure who's territory she was in. Her home was nowhere nearby. Further in, she would hide away under the perfect tree she fought a Wurple for. It'd been scary! She doesn't move a single muscle, waiting for a second to think about whether she should run or try to communicate her way out. There'd been a strange pokemon with the human. Did that mean they wanted to take her away? A quick glance around, she waits. Her mother would've been brave and scared the human off. Instead, she stays hidden, the words drifting carefully as she speaks.
<"No... um, this isn't my territory. I smelled something... nice. Uhm, please, I don't want to fight."> Her words are chased by the wind with a touch of a fear beneath them. She shakes slightly as the leaves start to fall slightly away. Shroomish refuses to look away as she notices the human on her level. She continues with a bit more confidence. <"I like nice smells... That's all.">

Neither of them could know it, but that shroomish’s mother was right in this instance. For this human, escape was rare for enemies. For whatever or whoever Sue fancied, the word doomed was just right. He clung to things and would no sooner let them go than a bear trap released a leg.
Maybe this shroomish would get lucky and lack what it took to set him off. Perhaps those metaphorical steel crescents trembled with temptation when she froze. Staying was the same as interest, right? The man who remained squatting certainly thought so. He peered into the foliage with his giddy, pale-eyed face.
“Brock, can you translate? I’m not sure what our new friend said.”
How presumptuous.
The zigzagoon grunted, displeased to have to work rather than daydream his life away on Susanna’s shoulder. “She doesn’t want to fight,” he explained, indifferent to the obvious fear in her voice and disinterested in clarifying. He didn’t have an idea what she was afraid of.
To Brock, Susanna was a harmless human. Rather groveling if the truth were to be told. The man bent over backwards to indulge the entirety of the team. It could be pathetic.
“She smelled something nice.”
The man chuckled, immediately guessing what she might have picked up on. “Oh, maybe it’s the odd incense? It’s too big for Koda to carry, so I keep it in my bag for him to apply throughout the day!” The man tugged his backpack to the side, opening a flap.
The smell of the odd incense grew stronger. Only the shroomish would know if that was the smell she had actually been after, but was certain there for the experiencing now.
“I can get the censer out and light it if you’ll come say hello to us,” he offered.

Gender - Female / Ability - Quick Feet / Level - 13 / Moves - Absorb, Tackle, Stun Spore, Leech Seed, Mega Drain, Drain Punch Frozen. She's frozen in fear; stuck in her own mind as she can remember the way her mother would tell her to stay away from humans. Shaking out of fear; she can't move. All she can do is watch as the human speaks; she can barely understand the words. Only being able to notice the furball on the human's shoulder, she freezes up even more. Couldn't she just not have broken that twig? Why couldn't she have left the nice smell alone? As the furball speaks, she takes the chance to try and take a step back, only stopping as the furball repeats her desire to not fight. She's seen too many fights between the pokemon here. Always staying hidden within the brush until everything cleared up, she didn't like fighting.
Frozen at the words, Shroomish realized the furball was translating her words to the human. This couldn't be good. Would the human get upset? Shroomish only wanted to discover if it were a new flower. She'd spent so long finding a piece of lavender to keep around her home. And now, she's let her nose take her this far. The trainer's words don't make any sense to her. Koda? Odd Incense? She never liked not knowing what things were, but as the human opens to the pack, she can smell a strange, but pleasant smell in the air. Almost noticeably closer, she could see it wasn't flowers. She had always wanted more flowers to make her home smell nicer. Frozen in place, she hears the humans offer. A simple offer of coming closer. Except, she didn't know if that meant the human would try to keep her forever.
Pokemon ending up missing every time a human comes there. It's the same story every time. Her words are slow, but careful with a twinge of that remaining fear. <"That's the smell."> Taking a step back, she looks to the furball, hoping to get some sort of assemblance of an idea of what this human was after. Words seemingly tumble forth. <"I don't know..."> A pause as she turns away towards the rest of the jungle. <"I should be heading home. There's... There's a lot of dangerous pokemon around."> Taking a step back, she looks back to the human who's got a strange item. The nice smell is enticing as she continues. <"I... Only for a second, if the human promises to not fight or use one of those scary rocks!"> A chill runs through her as Shroomish shivers frightenedly. Against her better judgement, she offers a possibility.

Brock is wholly indifferent to the shroomish’s fear. He is, however, relieved that she doesn’t want to fight. He doesn’t either. It’s too much effort. He says as much.
“Ugh, as if I’d wanna fight.” Then, to his human companion: “She wants to go home after.”
Sue’s shoulders slump. Go home? But, they’d just gotten along (in his mind). She liked his things. Wouldn’t she want to stick around? To see what other wonderful things he could find for her? If it was smells she liked, he could do that. He could find perfumes and flowers and oils and—
She’s scared. How annoying. How many creatures are like this? Clearly wanting something but always acting frightened when it’s right there in front of them? All of the light, playful tone in his voice from before has gone out like a snuffed candle. Susanna stands, zips his bag up, and places it back on his shoulder and Brock grunts and dances around the straps.
“You’re clearly not interested. It’s fine. I’m looking for new friends. Just go home.”
In the same way Brock didn’t care about the shroomish’s fear, he gives Susanna’s sudden shift in mood little regard. All the zigzagoon knows is that he’s getting out of a battle. That’s good enough for him.

Gender - Female / Ability - Quick Feet / Level - 13 / Moves - Absorb, Tackle, Stun Spore, Leech Seed, Mega Drain, Drain Punch Now of course there were indeed a mixture of feelings that would ultimately come to pass trough the small Shroomish, especially when the human would seem to clearly change in behaviour and otherwise dismiss the grass type given her particular desire to go home and the fear that she were feeling. This were more than enough to make her feel better in the knowledge that the human seemingly had no intention of causing her harm and anything else associated with such a thing - however there would be something else entirely that would cause the young SHroomish to begin feeling further despair. The fact that she had managed to mentally gather herself enough to dare to take a couple of tiny steps nearer when the human initially would help her out regarding finding the source of this wonderful smell, this had been enough to make her so happy! This would not last and despair would fill her once more when the human would abruptly close up the weird container that held the wonderful smell and just as abruptly stood up once more. Though she knew not what the human were actually saying but the dismissive tone would not be hard to take note of, this would be more than enough to cause a mixture of relief and deflation coming over the Shroomish that she would not have to worry further about coming to harm but wouldn't be able to enjoy the nice smell anymore. This would be so sad. Hesitating a moment but no more than that would the Shroomish would begin retreating backwards while keeping a fearfully cautious yet sad look upon the human man while softly talking to herself. < Oh, mother was right . . . . . . All humans are scary and cruel, even the ones who seem like they are being nice. Such a liar when look like trying to help . . . . . . i'm glad got disappointed now . . . . . > The girl sniffled before she would reach the foliage where she had originally been hiding, half turned to pause for a time to cast her fearful gaze around to ensure it were safe for her to go the way she had come before starting to fade from sight.

To emphasize not wanting to fight like that…? Did he come off like a brute?! He could show her brute if she was so scared of that. All he’d wanted was to make a new friend. She was the little leech drawn in by the nice smell of the item he’d worked so hard to get his precious friend. Was every creature like that?
How maddening. Tension knotted in Susanna’s shoulders. Brock felt the change, but just adjusted his sitting position. He remained perched on the silently fuming man’s shoulders.
It wouldn’t help if Susanna tried to help her get over her fear. If he tried to show her that she was scared for nothing, that she could find all kinds of lovely things if she just joined him, he was sure everyone would just be upset about it. It hadn’t worked out the last time he’d known someone could be happy with him… Ugh. All of this left a bitter taste in his mouth.
Walking away from his first encounter, the man muttered under his breath. “How irritating…”
“Hm?”
Oh, right. It wouldn’t be fair on Brock to see him in such a bad mood. Susanna immediately plastered on a smile, turning his face to almost brush noses with the zigzagoon clinging to him. “Nothin’, buddy! We’ll have better luck next time!” He chuckled. “Maybe we’ll find something nice and fuzzy. It’ll fit right in with the team! That’d be nice, right?”
The zigzagoon grunted. Whatever it was, he hoped he wouldn’t have to battle it.

Now what a sad sight had been playing out between the tame pokemon with the human that were interacting with the young Shroomish that had been so heartlessly dismissed, especially when it had first appeared as if things were about to go well between the little group only for this to not be the case. It would probably come as something of a surprise if the human man had been aware that his actions had been observed all throughout the latter part of this interaction more so when despite certain aspects there had been a certain amount of positive things about to happen, but then again even if there were evidence of such there were just as many things that could destroy such attempts.
But whatever had occurred this would be stored away and if needed used for somethign later, until then for the most part it would seem as if a stillness and silence would come over the area and the route in which the man and Zigzagoon would take - just for what reason it would not be known.
Nothing would impede Susanna's path for the most part, but alone he may not have been - but this would be hard to determined even if there would be strange occurances beginning to happen as the man moved along. Random pieces of foliage would seem to drop or otherwise fall upon the human male and branches and the like snagging at his clothing in apparent attempts to slow him down.

If Susanna were more familiar with the wilds, he would have thought more of the quiet. He was alert with a tendency to pick up on anything unusual, yes, but how was he supposed to know what was unusual here? He could pinpoint a sound to investigate… But, there was nothing to catch his attention. At least, not yet.
With his irritation settling back down, Susanna tried to keep an eye out for any possible pokemon. He brushed aside branches that caught on his clothes. “I hope none of this rips,” he complained. “Glad I wore something old.”
Brock, meanwhile, was stirred to a rare bout of activity. All of the leaves suddenly falling were getting caught in his fur. Not to mention the twigs snagging onto Sue and himself. He furiously groomed himself. His teeth nibbled at tangled fur and he raked his claws to loosen debris. “This stinks!” the fairy type whined. “I don’t wanna do this again.”
“Sorry, sorry,” Susanna apologized. “Next time, I’ll bring someone else, okay?”
… The two continued obliviously.

Level 15 || 150 / 150 || Genderless || Levitate Tackle, Confusion, Hypnosis, Imprison, Confuse Ray, Psywave Well that was almost . . . . . frustrating? Was that the word? Or even the best one to describe such a situation as this? Well even if it were not it were indeed the best one for the moment taking into consideration of the fact that for now nothing else were forthcoming, or at the very least that were how the whole situation came across regarding this human's obliviousness. But hey, what did it matter ultimately if the human were like this or not? Though this mattered not to the one who would yet to be seen, for it would not stop the current mild impediment that would be affecting the human and pokemon pair even if they were not aware of such, if nothing else the fact that the Zigzagoon male that would be meticulously cleaning himself as a result of all the foliage and falling debris - now that were entertainment. But anyway, the debris would continue to almost rain down upon the pair and foliage around them would seemingly continue to faintly impede the pair's progress before finally a rush of movement and blur of blue would move swiftly from where it had been previously just out of sight and begin widely circling the pale haired human with wide near blank eyes staring at the pair.

Susanna side-stepped so quickly that Brock had to dig his nails in to stay on the man’s shoulder. And, the side-step might have been meaningful if it weren’t for the fact they were being circled. Susanna’s brows furrowed and his hand reached for a pokeball before he realized it was a pokemon circling them.
Just… circling them and staring. He relaxed.
“What was that?!” Brock whined. “You nearly came out from under me!”
“Hehe, sorry,” Susanna apologized with a grin. His focus then shifted to the blue pokemon before him. “... Oh, hey! Was that you? Were you above us?”
He knew this one. It was from Sinnoh. But, he grabbed his pokedex. Maybe it could tell him something else? Uh-huh, mirror-like but… not really? Interesting. Well, none of that mattered because this pokemon had sought him out! It was obviously interested in him and he was just as curious about it.
“Hi there!” the man greeted. He at first tried to keep his eyes on the creature, but he got the feeling very quickly that might give him whiplash or nausea, so he stopped. He’d see it when it passed before him. "I'm Susanna and my friend here is Brock!”
The zigzagoon only huffed in greeting.

Level 15 || 150 / 150 || Genderless || Levitate Tackle, Confusion, Hypnosis, Imprison, Confuse Ray, Psywave Now if Susanna and Brock in any way had been hoping foror otherwise expecting some form of answer or reaction frmothe Bronzor other than what it were currently doing - namely the fact that it were circling around said human and Zigzagoon males - as such even when the literal pale human would seem to make efforts to side step it then they would be sorely mistaken. Though in some manner the blue disc like pokemon would in some manner be somewhat amused by the consequences of the human's attempts to get out of the way of the floating pokemon even if such an emotion would in no way be evident upon it's notoriously blank features. The fact that the human would be trying to keepa constant eye on it would be all the more amusing even if the human would eventually give up would oddly serve as extra motivation for the floating pokemon to speed up just enough to make such a thing that little harder, not so fast of course that it would be impossible to keep track of it but enough to make other things difficult. It would be when the human would make the first of his comments that the Bronzor would pause just long enough in front of the pale haired human before tilting it's body forward in an attempt at affirming that the one that had been the one from within the tree's previously, however upon righting itself would the Bronzor allow it's blank gaze to drift between the human and Zigzagoon as each were introduced. Well, there would not be much of an acknowledgement in response to this introduction but it would appear as if the names would stick and the only signs and indications that such things would have sunk in would be the surge of faint psychic power to send a flurry of leaves and small twigs towards and swirling around the pair.

It had been the pokemon in the trees! The swirl of debris got a grin out of Susanna. What a fascinating pokemon. It didn’t speak. Was it the lack of mouth? He knew some psychic types could communicate telepathically, but figured it was a little rare. After all, not even his precious Koda could pull that off.
How to approach this? He knew how to make it easy.
Brock let out a whine as Susanna pulled his bag to the side. “Stop that!” the fairy type growled, tail swishing in irritation. “I was resting there!”
“Sorry, sorry, I’m just so excited!” The pale man hummed as he pulled out a pokeball. With his spare hand, he pointed toward Brock.
“You found us, so… What’s up? Is it a battle? Or… Were you looking for a new trainer?!”
The zigzagoon huffed and put very little effort into muttering. “What happened to the fluffy schtick?”
“I’m supposed to reject a pokemon that’s interested in our team?! It could be a new friend!” His tone was almost pouty, far too childish and whiny for a grown man. With that, his attention returned to the bronzor, still holding the pokeball up and offering Brock for a battle.
Said tanuki-like pokemon looked as displeased as ever. When would he get to rest…?
