It had been something of a long time since Layla had found herself coming back to the small seaside port village that were Seabreeze, but then again on account of the fact that - for the most part - there had not been much in the way of any form of trouble here for a couple of years now so it were not as if there were much need to worry. But at the same time it were not as if it meant that the ranger woman couldn't come out in order to spend some of her free time right? At least this were what Layla would keep telling herself and besides as it were to come to turn out it had indeed been a good choice to come out here especially with her choice of pokemon that she would be bringing with her.

For given the weather were still reasonable cold - well, it was winter still after all - it had seemed like a good idea to bring both her small Spheal and shulian Hoothoot with her to make the most of the cod weather without hiking out to the more typical snow bound city, the pair seemed to like the idea of coming to the beach too.

But Layla were letting her mind wander a little too much, rather simply focus on the present - of which would be glancing over to where the aforementioned pair of pokemon were down near the freezing water in the company if the small Spearow male that would be making sure that nothing could harm them. In Layla's case she would have found herself somewhere comfortable to sit for the time being in the company of her fire types - well, who could really blame them for avoiding getting too close to the water? - and simply enjoying the view for the most part along with the peace that came with it even if in the case of the bunny like pokemon that were darting around it were not truly peaceful.

Well, at least there were not exactly many people around here that would get disturbed by all this.

What the heck is the point of the beach if there’s like, snow everywhere and the water’s too cold to go into! Unless you’re one of those Polar Bear swim people that is. But he was NOT one of them dang it! The brunette boy’s gaze drifted worriedly toward his starters, the shiny Totodile darting off as he ran along, occasionally ducking behind both Danny himself and the little Scorbunny only to kick sand at both of them, just being a general menace. At least he wasn’t flat out attacking them though… not yet anyway.

Lipata shifted where she stood, doing her best to keep an eye on her fellow Starter Pokemon as he darted from place to place in search of something or someone he could screw with besides the human and fire rabbit he had accompanied, wary sunrise orange eyes following him as best she could lest he tried to get her yet again. She didn’t want him to, she didn’t want him to try and get her, to try and bite her because he knew she was scared of that.

It seemed however, that Quixn had caught sight of Layla’s Pokemon, zeroing in on the Shulan Hoothoot for the moment, a wind wicked grin split his features as he looked at the bird, darting forward toward them with every intention of trying to push the snow feathered owl into the freezing cold water.

Now while for the most part Layla were well aware of the fact that she were an oddity in her own way for coming out to a place such as the beach here in Seabreeze for fun during the cold of winter, but at the same time this were nothing unusual - between that and it were not as if she were doing any form of harm either so who cared? Between that and and the fact that her pokemon were enjoying such a seemingly simple thing as enjoying the cold waters that in the case of the small Spheal were more familliar and used to, the literal round pokemon were happily splashing at the water's edge while the small snow white Hoothoot were more tentatively splashing in the cold liquid.

Naturally this would indeed mean that the pair were not exactly paying attention to what were going on around them or even who may have been approaching, in some manner the same could also be said for the ranger woman and her other pokemon that were around her - or at least this would seem like the case and as such it would at least begin to seem as if the charging shiny Totodile would succeed in his intentions. The Totodile would seem to get dangerusly close to success before there would indeed be one who would note the charge of the water type and a surprisingly loud and angry chattering would be heard moments before a flash of green would go charging towards the water croc in the hopes of cutting the would be trouble maker off.

The charging Peppit - AKA the literal charging green rabbit like pokemon - would certainly be unfamilliar to the young man along with the pair of pokemon that were with him, including the shiny Totodile, but it were clear that this small being would not be allowing this being to cause trouble and not be stopped. Of course though if the small rabbit were to have any success then there were the chance that the Peppit would manage to bodyslam the water type and in theory knock the other off course, if this were not to work however then who knew what else would work?

Ever so slowly at first Quixn approached the Pokemon with intent to shove it into the cold beach water, eager to see the creature flail in panic, fear crossing it’s features as it tried to figure out what happened and just who or what had wound up knocking it into the water. This is going to be so great! This is what you get for not paying attention and for being dumb! he didn’t know the Pokemon but honestly Quixn was a jerk like 99% of the time so… what was new about that?

He was just about to get there, mere feet away from the snowy owl that tentatively poked at the cold beach water while its Spheal companion splashed around excitedly deeper in.

Inches away the Shiny felt something impact him, sending him careening sideways and off path, body skinning across the somewhat snow covered sand: The young Pokemon felt his scales bend, felt sand scrape at his delicate skin and couldn’t help but let out a snarl. ”What the hell… where’d you come from? What even are you? You RUINED IT YOU JERK!” the bully of a Totodile snarled out questions as his anger rose and he tore himself from the ground, stomping his foot indignantly as he righted himself, glaring daggers at the other Pokemon.

The commotion drew Danny’s attention and within seconds the boy’s head was swivelling toward the Pokémon’s direction, the direction of his own Starter, worry flashing in his green orbs as he moved toward the source quickly. “Quixn what’re you doing? Leave them alone!” He called out, his voice filled with mild panic at the sight, Scorbunny glued to his side as he moved closer to Layla’s group.

And of course though the Spheal and Hoothoot pair were quite happily having fun in the water whether it be at the edge or further in it mattered not for they were having fun all the same, so much so that the pair would have otherwise been paying little attention to all that were going on around them. Or at the very least not up until the commotion that would occur literally a few short feet from them that would cause the pair to stop their play moments before little yelps - for lack of a better description - would escape the playing pair as they would freeze and cast their wide eyed gazes towards what were would be coming to occur next while the icy pair would huddle together a little.

Meanwhile in the case of the smaller green tinged rabbit being though there were the chance that her intended plan would indeed fail, however to feel their bodies collide with each other; Kayin - AKA the Peppit (well, the weird rabbit thing as far as the Totodile were concerned) - would feel a certain amount of pleasure flow through her body that her plan had worked. Of course the rabbit being would ensure to dig her feet into the ground after the contact were made and seeing the blue croc pokemon go tumbling - for she didn't want to get too tangled up with the other pokemon - rather after steading herself would the little rabbit plant her feet firmly on the ground and dig them in all the while trying to make herself look larger than what she currently was. After having done this would what could be described as something of a growl escape the green pokemon while glaring at the water type even when the other would right itself and seemingly begin to throw a hissy fit because of being stopped.

< Aaawwww; big dum dum got hurt feeling because they were not paying attention to what was around them? Your precious little plan backfire? GOOD! Sounds like your the jerk you stupid ass, pick on someone your own size or bigger why don't ya? > The rabbit pokemon snapped back as she stomped a couple of steps closer to the water type while staring bodly up at him while doing do.

It would be about here that the ranger woman that were Layla would also have taken note of what were happening before she would have - along with her other trio of pokemon in tow - eventually risen to her feet and begun to head towards where the pokemon were at the water's head and the two were confronting each other. "Kayin? Everything alright? What's going on?" Of course the woman were merely asking to offer the conflicting pokemon pair to offer their explanations but she could see - or at least guess - by the reactions of the group here jsut what may have been going on or at least about to.

The thirteen year old boy felt a frown tug deeper at his features as the trainer of the odd green rabbit Pokemon stepped up, questioning her Pokemon as to if everything was okay or not, what was going on: He felt bad, he hated to see his own Starter causing trouble in the way which he was. Emerald eyes locked on the woman and the need to apologize won out within his mind. “I’m so sorry he’s… trouble I guess, I’m so sorry. No one’s hurt right?” the words came out in a rush of near panic as the boy considered what this woman might do in response, what if she called the police on him for Pokemon Neglect and his Starter got taken away? Sure hew as troublesome but that didn’t mean Danny didn’t want him! Shoot what it she was the police oh god was he doomed here? Even as the boy apologized for the crocodile, said Pokemon just let out an annoyed scoff at his reply, not bothering however to butt into the conversation, his own attention focused on the odd green rabbit Pokemon.

“ Aaawwww; big dum dum got hurt feeling because they were not paying attention to what was around them? Your precious little plan backfire? GOOD! Sounds like your the jerk you stupid ass, pick on someone your own size or bigger why don't ya?” the rabbit’s words bit into the green-ish scaled Totodile’s nerves like a termite through wood, crimson eyes narrowing as a fiery rage burnt within them. “The hell did you just say you stupid long eared snot coloured freak?!” He snarled in anger permitting the totodile’s features as his foot stomped on the snowy sand. He didn’t like being mocked! “Tell me to fight someone my size or bigger; idiot that stupid bird IS my size or bigger!” he snarled out, pointing out what he thought was decently obvious in that there wasn’t much more than a few inches of height difference between himself and the Shulan Hoothoot. Honestly thought he didn’t quite know what to say without starting some kind of fight… it might very well happen.

It would take a few minutes and a bit of glancing around for Layla to in some manner get what could only be decribed as a vague idea or otherwise a general idea as to what were going on between her own pokemon and the Totodile that had charged towards her own group, the fact that the water type seemed to be a little extra aggressive - or at least that were her impression - towards her own team even if it were indeed one of her own were equally so. However it would be from here that the woman's attention would be diverted towards the young male that would be approaching then speaking to her would a sense of understanding seem to come over the pale haired woman in regards to the Totodile in question. "Luckily no, it seems as if that was avoided this time at least. Now, what do you mean by trouble?" Would the woman find herself responding and asking in time.

Meanwhile in the case of the rabbit like pokemon though she may have been somewhat angry with what she had been wtnessing thhre were also the sense of satisfaction in the fact that she had managed to - in some minor way - distract the larger water type away from what he had been about to do even if this were likely to cause trouble for her Kayin cared not. Also, sure it were technically true that the cowering Hoothoot were indeed bigger than the water type it mattered not as far as she were concerned given it would not change her opinion of the other pokemon overall.

< Oh? Me the idiot? So you thought you would be clever in thinking you would get away with what you were planning on doing? That makes you more stupid than I will ever be. > Would the rabbit pokemon counter before boldly stomping forward in an aggressive manner.

In truth DAnny felt rather bad for his Pokémon’s actions, even if they were prevented and only his ego was getting hurt; maybe it was what he needed? Goodness he hoped so… maybe it’d temper Quixn’s attitude… probably not though if he were honest with himself…. it might make him worse! the thought struck the boy and panic showed clear on his young features as he considered that possible outcome, what if Quixn got worse!?! What if he just became such a total butthead dang it why was this his life right now!?!? AAAAAH!

Relief flooded the boy as the pale haired woman explained that no one had gotten hurt, only for her to ask for clarification on what he meant by “Trouble.” Swallowing a lump that built up in his throat the young boy shifted in place, looked almost guilty as he spoke. “He’s kind of…. A bully? I guess is the right word for it. My Totodile likes to try and attack or bite anyone or anything just to see if he can, or cause he wants to hurt them.. I doubt he was planning on doing anything nice if he got what he wanted done. Sorry I sorta lost track of him and I know I need to keep a better eye on him and oh god what is he gonna be like when he evolves! I’m doomed….” His words had started as explanation, diverging from there to apology and admittance that he’d lost track of the creature to mild panic at the thought of this currently two foot whatever tall totodile getting bigger and harder to keep a proverbial leash on. would an actual leash work…. Probably not, he’d probably chew through it like so fast.

Lipata for her part remained silent, orange eyes glued to the crocodile and odd green rabbit she had never seen before, flickering between the arguing duo with visible worry in her face: She pressed herself further into her human’s leg even as she watched.

Quixn let out a snarl at the weird green bunny thing whatever it was he didn’t know, crimson eyes flashing with anger at the words being spoken and tail lashing aggressively, his claws hands flexed at his sides as though itching to strike out at the creature.

Now all that Layla would come to find herself doing after she had made her query regarding the literal small shiny croc pokemon would she in turn simply allow herself to remain quiet and continue to study the younger male in a curious yet cautious manner for what felt like the longest of times, more so taking into consideration of the look that would form upon the boy's face regarding his water type starter and it's bahavior. Now after what felt like an age - even if in reality it were indeed only a couple of short minutes - would the older paled haired woman focus her atention upon the young man as he began to speak and generally explain the issue.

The longer that Layla listened for and the more of the issues that the younger boy would begin to speak of regarding the shiny being would the ranger gradually begin to understnad a little more, it would finally make a great deal of sense to the ranger woman more so taking into consideration that although the boy had not mentioned such if it had anything to do with the Totodile's shiny status it were a possibility right? But either way whatever the reason it matered not it were still somewhat concerning all the same, more so given that if the Totodile were like this now at it's small size Arceus only knws what could happen further down the line.

"Then this is a good opportunity to make an effort to try handle him early on and find ways to ensure he doesn't cause as much harm or damage to others like me may want to. Because I have no doubt if left unchecked too much you won't be able to cope when he does get bigger." The older woman would find herself commenting, though she would not mean such harshly it were better to ensure that the boy were aware of the potential risks - or at least begin thinking about such things - sooner rather than later right?

Meanwhile seeing that the blue croc seemed to have been momentarily struck dumb after her most recent verbal bashing of him would the green tinged rabbit being simply hold her ground and stare boldly upon the other as if daring him to do something, though the more time passed and nothing seemed to happen would a bored snort escape the bunny as she looked over the croc with somethign akin to a look of disgust for a time before seeming to be about to turn her back upon him and move away.

The woman remained silent as she looked upon Danny, eyes filled with curiosity but obvious caution as she eyed him up and down. The thirteen year old swallowed hard, a lump in his throat as he looked at her back. What was she thinking about when she looked at him? Was she thinking that he was a bad trainer? He knew he was new at this but he was trying!

Finally after what felt like forever to the boy the Ranger spoke, offering up advice to try and handle Quixn and his behavour before it became too big an issue for him to deal with: God only knew what would happen when he fully evolved and became freaken HUGE! Danny gritted his teeth, taking in a deep breath as his eyes settled onto the crocodile fully. “Yeah, like a puppy right? Out train the bad behaviour before it gets engrained… plus he’s gonna be massive when he’s fully evolved soooo…” the boy drawled the last word out as he finally moved, Lipata keeping her own distance and watching her Trainer draw closer to the crocodile.

Quixn’s body tensed as the green rabbit looked upon him with disgust but didn’t comment any further, the young Pokemon watching as the little green thing he still didn’t recognize began to turn her back on him. A growl escaped his muzzle as he darted forward with a desire to strike the creature if it’s back were turned, only for a pair of small but stronger-then-him arms to grab at him. He felt his body pulled up off the ground, kept facing away so he couldn’t bite at whatever had grabbed him, a voice filled with a harsh semi-commanding tone. “That’s enough! Leave them alone right now!” The boy ordered, another growl ripping from the Pokémon’s throat at the sound he knew at least somewhat well.

he hated this stupid little kid! Look at him, trying to get a damn backbone… where’d he get off damn it! The creature struggled in the boy’s hold as the boy struggled to hold onto his Starter.

So while that the possibility of the young ten boy actually believing that the older pale haired woman would actually be thinking that he were in turn a bad trainer were unlikely, it would also actually be quite true that she were not thinking this - for Layla more than understood that all pokemon had their own personalities and issues for a variety of reasons and as such it were not always as a result of their respective trainer's being 'bad'. But rather than trying to convince the boy that she were in no way judging him - for there were just as much of a chance that he would believe the opposite to be true - Layla would simply opt to remain quiet in such regards and observe for the moment while speaking and acting accordingly which would hopefully show him that she were not thinking too negatively of him.

Once she would finish speaking would Layla take note of the fact that the boy would be more fully considering his words and acknowledging how much of an issue it would indeed been when the small croc would evolve literally into a larger version of itself in time - now that would most definetly not be good if the extreme aggression would be still in full effect by that point. "That's right, even if manage to out train the behavior just a little that would be a good start. Or even train the little guy to focus such behaviour into something more productive to make use of such things is also good." Would the pale haired woman find herself agreeing and offering potential further options for the boy to go with, of course she would remain vague because she would know now what would be best suited for the water croc and only the boy would be able to determine that in time.

Meanwhile in the case of the odd rabbit pokemon something of a smirk would have formed upon her features as a result of the the water type clearly not being able to act upon whatever intentions he may have had, that combined with the fact that the human boy would have picked him up - going by the croc's reactions she imagined - would make the rabbit's smirk broaden further. "Kayin, that's not helping - but good work on making sure those two didn't get hurt." Would the woman almost sigh but oddly find herself congratulating the bunny all the same.

Meanwhile after having seemingly recovered from the potential 'shock' of the shiny water types attempt at causing harm to him would the snowy white owl have turned his attention away from what were going on to rather look over towards where the other rabbit pokemon were hiding behind the smaller human boy. It would be from here that the Hoothoot would dare to try hop over towards the other in a careful and mildly uncertain manner but would make efforts to look as friendly as were possible before offering little hoots in turn, for better to get an idea of whether it were good to approach the other or not.

If one were to bring up to Danny’s attention that his thoughts on Layla’s thoughts on him were incorrect, he would probably have commented that he was entitled to these thoughts as most people tended to think the worse of him when given the chance- his oh so perfect pretty sister had made sure, along with his parents that the boy rarely started off with a favourable first impression opportunity: he had always had to work for those opinions to change within moments of meeting someone if his sister or parents were anywhere near to interfere: That was just how it was and had always been. But they aren’t here are they? the boy reminded himself inwardly as he watched the woman and her odd Pokemon, both those he had and had never seen before. The thirteen year old nodded at Layla’s words, obviously considering the advice given and just what he should do to handle his Pokemon. The Dojo had been helpful in at least getting some of his aggression out- if only for a few hours, alongside getting Quixn’s stronger; but how long would that remain the case? Danny didn’t know.

Danny’s arms were tight against the brittle scaled skin of his Shiny Pokemon as the creature squirmed in his hold, claws of his hands moving to jab hard into the sleeves of his Trainer’s jacket, so sharp and with such force they punctured holes in the layer of fabric that kept the human’s skin sheltered from the cold, the tiny claws stabbing into his skin. Danny let out a hiss of surprised pain though he did not let go of his Pokemon, instead his eyes narrowed on him, “Quixn cut it out.” He commanded despite the pain his left arm now felt- Quixn had bit him in the leg not long ago and that’d hurt a heck of a lot more, he could handle this for now.

Lipata watched as the snow feathered owl Pokemon hopped over toward herself and Danny, the brunette focused on Layla and Quixn and not paying her much mind at all. She watched the Hoothoot pull to a stop a bit away, closer but still with enough space for both to feel comfortable; the bird didn’t look like it was a threat…. Slowly Lipata poked her head out though remained where she was otherwise, crooked ears twitching slightly as she looked at the bird her travel companion (they were NOT friends!) had tried to attack.

Now if for whatever reason the young boy would have a negative reaction towards her for whatever reason and would come to lash out in some manner it would in no way bother Layla, after all everyone had different ways to deal with things and other thigns as a whole due to whatever had gone on with their lives and the like. So whatever would be going through the boy's mind other than his focus on ensuring the Totodile within his arms didn't cause any further trouble was his business, the ranger woman would simply push such thigns from her mind and focus on other things.

At this point in time it would be the small rabbit like pokemon almost strutting towards the short woman that would gain her attention, taking a moment before bending down to pick the rabbit into her arms - here would the small being snuggle comfortably in place before looking over the boy and the blue croc in an almost studious manner for an age. Though there would be one amongst the woman's team who would have less fear about approaching the boy and the squirming croc - this being in the form of the Combusken that would purposefully step towards the pair with the faintest of scowls on her features as her gaze lowered to look upon the water type before a clawed / taloned hand were lifted to try prod the water croc in the nose to get his attention and at least try stop him from causing havoc. < You really have issues croc, it's almost sad. > would the fire type almost scoff.

Now in the case of the snow feathered little owl, though there were to be lingering traces of caution as a result of the water croc's potential actions and current behaviour this white and red tinged fur rabbit seemed considerably less of a threat and as far as the Hoothoot were concerned this sure as hell was a good sign and would cause a rather pleased look to form upon it's features. < Cute Bunny . . . . Look so fluffy. > The voice of the owl would sound almost child like and innocent enough and such nice comments were genuinely meant as something that could only be described as a smile form upon the owl's features.

The little fire type rabbit shifted her gaze between the larger fire chicken as it approached Quixn still in Danny’s grasp, her gaze shifting back at the snowy feathered owl. “Um… hi? Um… you’re cute too…?” there was a near question in the Pokémon’s tone as she eyed the white owl curiously, not quite sure how to handle the compliment or attention as minimal as it thus far had been. Awkwardly Lipata shifted her feet, her scarred foot digging into the winter-chilled sand slightly as she did and leaving a small line as she moved it.

The young brunette stared at the Ranger, watching as what must’ve been one of her longest owned Pokemon stepped up. Oh hey! That’s a Combusken cool! Didn’t think I’d see one of the Starters from my home Region here huh…. The boy quirked a brow as he looked at the orange chicken. “Neat seeing a Combusken here. I’m from Hoenn originally.” The child explained simply, trying at least somewhat to bring the subject matter away from his own Starter, his left arm stinging from the assault of Quixn’s claws as he moved it ever so slightly to adjust his hold on the croc.

Quixn glared at the fire bird as he snarled, a not entirely complete water gun spitting from his jaws as he glared daggers at the bird. “What’d you say you KFC freak!?!” He bit out angrily.

Now the snowy white Hoothoot would be too distracted - if that were the best way to describe such a thing? - by the 'cute' white and red tinged rabbit that were curently hiding behind the younger male human, so much that for the most part the nervousness or shyness (whichever one would want to call such) were not really something in which would be paid too much attention to. It would not take too much longer before as a result of the rabbits words, this would also come to cause a surprisingly wide grin and general look of delight to form upon the snowy owl's features and remain there for the longest of times. < You seem so much nicer than your friend . . . . he so scary. > Well, it didn't hurt to try and strike up some form of conversation did it? And if nothing else this certainly seemed like a good starting point.

"Oh really? Then in some way must be nice seeing one that remind you of home then? Sometimes it is the simple things that can make other things somewhat better - I'm from Sinnoh originally myself." Would the woman find herself throwing back in time, after all she were certainly more than willing to offer something of a distraction from the current 'issue' tha were the small shiny Totodile that were still struggling in the boys arms.

Now under other circumstances and if she had indeed been the sort who would likely get offended by such things - not to say the small water croc's words and acions didn't annoy Zari, she just chose to ignore it - though all the same it would not stop the faintest flicker of a frown and faint annoyance to form. < Now I didn't take you for being deaf as well as stupid, but hey call me what you want. Just remember - it's a risky 'game' you are playing, especially when you run the risk of getting roasted. I hear charred croc is a delicacy in some places. > Would the larger literal fire chicken state bluntly while leaning nearer in a seemingly warning manner.
