HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHULA So you want to make your own regional forme? I don't blame you, they're pretty cool....Anyways, fill out the form below and hand it over to the boy behind the counter, Godfrey. He will dash off, leaving his Snorlax to watch over the stall while he confirms your sighting! As of 25/3/2019, applications may be earned by adverts, site events, or simple hard work and dedication!
The OOC process here is basically take the below form and fill it out with the Pokemon you want, the way its Shula forme will look (a good description or a sprite- if you have agreed with someone before to make the sprite it will be approved, if not, a finished sprite will be needed first ), if theres a second gender forme (and so if another sprite needs making) and why it looks the way it does! A mod will then look over the app, and then whether the forme will be made canon or not will be confirmed!Formes will then be made available like shinies. When a mod rolls for a Pokemon in an egg, event or thread they will take into account if this Pokemon has a Shula forme (which will be kept listed here in a sort of Pokedex) and if it can have a forme, a lucky roll could get you one! It's important to note that Shula formes cannot be selected as starter Pokemon. After all, they are rare encounters!
Due to a certain individual one of the earlier Shula forms has been removed. No, this will NEVER happen again. If a member leaves, their Pokemon is still in the Shula form canon. All forms applied and created become part of Shula; going inactive and being removed, leaving, or anything else does not change this fact. NO EXCEPTIONS.
[tbody]
[div align="center"] Species: What is the variant species? --> Lv 40 At Night --> Fire/ DarkPonyta / RapidashDescription of coloring/sighting ~ Not needed, made the sprite. Flames on the body can burn different hues of purple to navy blue based on mood however Reason for appearance ~ Ponyta have always been herd pokemon and live in large groups to keep safe however more and more they are having to leave the plains due to new pokemon, many trainers or general competition for resources. This has lead a small herd that started in the Stillwood Jungle and have since branched out from there to change color to hide in the trees and shadows of their new forest homes, their flames burn darker than they once did and their pale skin has turned dark allowing them to hide better within the darkness of tall trees and bright flowers. |

So the first of no doubt many forms were in and if nothing else this one were certainly proving to be quite an interesting one. A herd of Rapidash and Ponyta that were vastly different in colour to their counterparts that made the open plains their homes?! This had to someone's idea of a joke right? No; he could not think like that, if everyone were to be made out to be crazy that came here then that would not be a good thing by any means. So to go and see if this were true with his own eyes would be the only way to confirm it for his own sake and for all those who may further witness it.
So leaving Snorlax 'manning' the stall for the duration of his absence did Godfrey dash off towards the jungle and with him the hopes of the sighting being true.
The results of the search confirm the sighting of the unusual coloured herd, though difficult to see they are there.

Reticulated/Shulian Salandit and SalazzlePoison/GroundDescription of coloring/sightingA "reticulated Salandit", rather than possessing a bright orange pattern on an otherwise plain grey body, is a muddy brown with darker, leopard-like spots, with the bright orange markings instead being a long streak of the darker color. Upon evolution, a reticulated or Shulian Salazzle regains its pre-evolution's bright orange coloring in place of its normal pink/purple markings. The normal purple eyes on both forms is instead a tan color to better camouflage in their new territory. (note: if further alterations are allowed, like the Ponyta flame color changing with its mood, the flat "flaps" that appear to "tie" the bandit's mask on Salandit instead fray out like the first picture/on a reticulated siren as well. If not, no big deal). Reason for appearanceAfter Alola opened to the public, tourists started bringing Pokémon back to their own regions. Shula was not exempt from this, and the Salandit species was one of the more popular abducted Pokémon. Of course, upon evolving into the manipulative Salazzle, a lot of families decided they regretted their decision and dumped them in various places. While most perished when placed too far outside of their natural habitat, the Salazzle that were left in Giya Swamp survived and thrived. Affectionately referred to as the "Giya Monster", this rare adaptation of Salandit and Salazzle evolved to better blend the former in with the swamp (being almost impossible to see among the murk and mud) and to warn off predators for the latter. Salandit are born with leopard- or fawn-like spots on their back to mimic the mud they hide in, though as female Salandit grow closer to evolution the spots disappear. They start out as omnivores, with small Salandit mostly surviving on algae until they get big enough to eat shrimp, bugs, snails, and eventually small fish. Upon evolution, however, Salazzle are exclusively carnivores, eating small mammals, eggs, large fish, and even its own young if competition is rough or food is scarce. Evidence of this Pokemon's existence is rare due to above cannibalistic tendencies, the ability of the easier-to-abduct Salandit to blend almost perfectly into the muck of Giya Swamp, and the general sly, malicious nature of Salazzle. It was thought to be a cryptid until one was caught in a Relicanth trap by a lucky fisherman. NOTE: Salandit is based off of the Reticulated Siren, a newly-discovered species of salamander that was found to live in the Southeastern united states. Salazzle is based off the Gila Monster, a large, venomous lizard with an attitude. Please let me call it a Giya Monster, it's perfect. (Here is an imgur link with some shoddy color editing I did to try and get the gist of it.) |

Having seen the ponyta herd, Godfrey was excited to see another shula form! Sure, he didnt like leaving his partner behind again and he really didnt like the swamp but he took the new report and dashed off. A lot of mud, smelly water and wandering in the dark later the boy returned with a new change of clothes as his first was covered. He seemed to be shivering, or shaking, but quite why he wouldnt state aside the word "bright monster" every now and then. / The results of the search confirm the sighting of the unusual colored salamanders- though difficult to see, they are there.

--> Lv 20 --> --> + Lv 30 --> OR --> + Lv30 on Males--> Ralts / Kirlia / Gardevoir / Gallade
Same--> Dark/ Psychic after kirlia Description of coloring/sighting ~ Not needed, made the sprite Reason for appearance ~ Ralts have long been a pokemon bully and preyed on for their inability to really see or walk, as a result there are a few around faraday island that have taken to hiding in the shadows or using their psychic power more and more. This has lead their colors to slowly change over time, their normally green helmets bleeding purple due to their powers and their horns blue due to a constant nervousness. The thing is, as soon as rangers found out about all this they started trying to save the species which had now left a large number evolving, growing and breeding in these new colors. While confusing at first, many of these pokemon are now shunned by their own kind due to their appearance, much like shinies of their bloodline. Some are kept within families, strong ones, many get excluded in order to have more young or keep other young alive. This is leading them to take even more measures to keep hidden, out of the way or very strong to keep themselves safe only making colors bolder. {Spoiler}{Artwork of Ralts Form} |

Now this particular sighting - like the previous ones before now - certainly proved to be just as interesting and in turn lead a potentially exciting discovery and of course this one didn't involve going into the swamp again. Which after the previous trip is a good thing, it took forever to get his cloths clean. But that didn't matter to Godfrey, not when there were so many new pokemon forms to be seen - or had been suspected sightings - to be able to go out and see whether they were true or not over rode any discomfort that such trips would pose to him - for there was always a bright side to any trips that may seem to be otherwise unfortunate or unpleasant. So it were a heavy heart that Godfrey gave his instructions to Snorlax to remain and look after things while he were away that the young boy headed out to locate these unusual psychic beings.
It had been with a significant lapse in time that the young boy returned, a look of wonder and amazement fixed upon his face.
The results of the search confirm the sighting of the unusual coloured group of psychics, though difficult to see due to their distrust of others and natural shyness they are there.

Shinx - Luxio - Luxray Elertric/ GroundDescription of coloring/sighting ~ A tan and brown variation of a typical Luxray, this species seems to be still recognizable at a glance but have a vastly different and easily distinct appearance. At base, the coloration is a pale tan or beige, with the main thicker coat dark brown instead of black, and speckled with darker spots along the main body and legs. The mane also is much smaller and lower, the fur on the top of all forms shorter then their counterpart, and curved more downward and thicker in the lower ruff, making a thicker coat about the lower head and neck. The tail is short, only the main tuft on the read end remaining with the long curved end missing entirely. The paws as well are far larger, the ears longer and more pointed upward with tufted tips, and the eyes have a black sclera in the Luxray form and black "eyeliner" in a line away from the ends of the eye in Luxio and Luxray forms. Reason for appearance ~ Found most commonly in the Kasabian Volcano area, seemingly a natural migration of an apex predator spreading out across it's native island, this variant of Luxray seems to mostly live on the outside of the Volcano in the rocky 'mountainous' area. Where dark thick fur benefited more in the lowlands where the dark shadows of rocks help the Luxray line remain hidden and warm in the colder seasons, along the volcano's slopes the land is more subtle in color, the tan and brown not offering stark shadows or dark lighting. Beyond the coat colors, this variant is also more suited for climbing the rocky volcano side, suited to mountain life with a keen sense of balance, large paws that can balance well on rocks and in the winter balance on the snow despite being such a heavy cat, and the short tail helps it maintain a smaller more compact body then the standard Luxray. It's mane is less intimidating, but more even across male and female both then the normal Luxray, more for warmth then for sexual display, though the tendency towards bigger males is still present. |

A mountain this time? Knowing the trip to find this one was going to be hard, Godfrey set of as quickly as he could with his notes and a nod to his partner snorlax. The pokemon yawned a goodbye as the boy set off, beginning to get good at all this being left alone stuff, as Godfrey finally took in the word "volcano". It was a small trip but a long climb, however, a lot of stumbling, falling and getting back up on rocks and stones alike later, the boy returned with a trio of items. A Large grin on his face, a the sighting record in his hand and a large green tick over the edge of the sighting as he ran back to his booth to document his findings. The results of the search confirm the sighting of the unusual coloured pack of cat pokemon. They are hard to find due to their abilities to climb and hide, however they are around..

Blue-Ringed Remoraid/Octillery
please forgive Becca's rather pathetic spriting skills
Water/Poison upon evoDescription of coloring/sighting ~ The "blue-ringed" Remoraid looks much like a standard Johtoan Remoraid, save for a number of bright blue spots all over its duller blue body. These spots appear in messy, random-looking patterns and glow in the dark. Upon early sightings, people believed that the Remoraid they saw were diseased because they looked as though they were being eaten alive by a bioluminescent parasite. In reality, these spots are pockets of poison embedded within the Remoraid's scales. Upon evolution, these Pokemon become much more distinctive and also more deadly. Blue-ringed Octillery are smaller and speedier than their Johtoan counterparts, at less than half the height and weight of a standard Octillery. The Octillery's body is a pale yellowish-orange color, and it is covered in many distinctive blue rings. As with Remoraid, these rings glow in the dark and contain a very potent poison, which the Octillery unleashes at will. A single exposure to blue-ringed Octillery poison is enough to kill a fully grown human in a matter of hours if not properly treated. When these Octillery are provoked, their bodies flush a deeper orange, as though they are blushing, and their rings glow an even brighter shade of blue. This is when they are at their most poisonous, so humans and Pokemon alike are advised to steer clear. The suction cups on blue-ringed Octillery vary in size even on the same individual, and unlike standard Octillery, there are no obvious sex differences between the male and the female of the species. Reason for appearance ~ This population of Remoraid and Octillery evolved in a pocket of the ocean not far from Typheus Island where, for reasons unclear, no Mantine population existed. Without its typical symbiotic partner to scavenge food from and protect it from predators, these Remoraid needed to develop a different method to survive in their environment. To defend themselves and to incapacitate their prey, this population became poisonous. Its bright coloration signals to potential predators that it is unsafe to eat. Because they did not have a larger Pokemon to do its hunting for it, blue-ringed Remoraid evolved to be much more aggressive than standard Remoraid. Unlike standard Remoraid, blue-ringed Remoraid view Mantine and Mantyke as competitors rather than partners, so they will try very hard to drive the Kite Pokemon out of their territory. It is unknown whether Mantyke that spend time with blue-ringed Remoraid will still evolve into Mantine, as none have ever been observed because the Remoraid tend to drive the Mantyke away. Blue-ringed Octillery also changed color to signify that it is unsafe to eat, and its coloring is much brighter because its poison is much more dangerous. While some predators can consume blue-ringed Remoraid safely, none have been observed to eat blue-ringed Octillery without being dead within the hour. Though they usually reside in the deep ocean, both Remoraid and Octillery may approach shorelines and even swim up rivers in search of prey. This behavior is a result of overfishing and pollution encroaching on their native habitat. NOTE: Though this evolutionary line is highly poisonous, it has not developed a poison typing. However (if allowed), members of this population have been observed to learn the move Toxic naturally upon hatching. |

Godfrey headed to Typheus Island once the sighting came in, nodding to his snorlax and handing him a list of instructions . He left, going out the door and missing his partner eating the list. The trip was not a long one, however it meant the boy needed to go in to the water. Suffice to say when he came back up, he was pale faced and moving very quickly. "Such aggression" was muttered before the boy was caught ticking off the sighting, all-be it shivering. / / The results of the search confirm the sighting of the unusual coloured pokemon, though the typing of them has not changed and neither have the moves it seems to learn. Only their appearance seems to have changed, however, only a few have been found and even fewer can be approached due to their aggression so this could be proven different in time.*addition* - Further sighting have now confirmed that like some other shula formes, these pokemon have indeed changed types

--> Lv 18 --> Poocheyna/ Mightyena Dark/ GroundDescription of coloring/sighting ~ Not needed, ordered the sprite Reason for appearance ~ These pokemon are most commonly found in the badlands or desert and it is thought that their fur coloring has grown to reflect that, it seems these pokemon were once trainers pokemon as, as a pack, they seem to show an intelligence different from others of their kind. It seems somewhere along the line that 2 alpha's fell out, forming 2 packs on 2 different islands with their own and with the enviroment, change of food and new breeding patterns, they began to change appearance. They tend to travel as a pack, moving and hunting an resting as one group and so can be found in large numbers when found. However they hide well in the sand, dirt and barren lands they live in so they can be hard to find. Their diet has changed also, moving on to more meat over the normal omnivore, which has lead to larger muscles on the breeds but considering they live in areas with so little food and hard hunting, thats useful! |

It had been awhile since a sighting had been made, and now Godfrey was excited to learn that there were two sightings of the same Pokemon, on two different islands! He packed his bag for a longer trip and gave his Snorlax a list of instructions for while he was gone. Well, Snorlax was napping, so he set the list on the large Pokemon's belly and jetted off before he woke. He went to the desert first, and after finally finding he what he was looking for, he went to the badlands next. A few days later, he returned, exhausted but pleased, with a whole stack of field notes. The poor boy had nearly gotten eaten twice (those muscular Mightyena were nothing to laugh at!), but he had found both of the packs on both of the islands!
The results of the search confirm the sighting of the unusually coloured wolf Pokemon, with two distinct packs found in the Lorea Island Desert and the Typheus Island Badlands. Though the natural camouflage of their coats makes them harder to spot, they can be found.

--> Lv 10 --> --> Lv 10 but outside --> (m)/(f) Caterpie/ Metapod / Butterfree Bug/ FairyDescription of coloring/sighting ~ Not needed, made the sprite Reason for appearance ~ Seeing as there are several areas in shula where bug pokemon aren't just common, they are around as much as the air, when caterpie took to the region they took well. The pokemon began to enjoy the diet berries more, taking to sweeter berries which people assumed added to their color change but it was partly diet, partly climate and a little down to the fact that they chose to breed with paler colors. Within a few generations, these pokemon appeared. Out rightly freindly and very rare, they began to appear in other regions now and then and tended to be a mystery. However native to shula the pokemon were some of the first to show fairy typing on a pokemon not know to be a fairy type, or thought to be, however they are very in touch with the forest, grasslands and little woodland areas they swarm to so its not shocking. However when it became apparent they were a little harder to train, a little more flighty and took more levels to evolve, their popularity dropped a little and thus they had been seen more often in the wild since being able to re-populate. Typing change to bug/fairy |
