LEO XANDER LOCKWARD Leo gazed at the white haired man with a shared sense of excitement at the thought of what pokemon could hatch from the egg currently strapped to the man's chest. "Well I'm super excited for you!" the teen gushed.
When it came to the younger girl that had recently joined the scene, Leo couldn't quite believe his ears. "Wow. I feel a fool!" the teen chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his head.
Shaking the embarrassment off, the teen listened intently on Twily's words. She seemed incredibly noble, even if she was older than she looked, she was still very young, it was impressive that someone could have such a clear head. "I'm sorry things weren't great for you in Sinnoh. But it clearly made you wise way beyond your years!" he spoke reassuringly, smiling at the younger girl. "Thank you for keeping our pokemon safe!"
Sue had begun speaking once more when suddenly Leo was snapped to attention at the "WHOA" that had escaped the white haired man. Spinning around just in time to observe the flash of light errupt from where the egg once was bound to Sue's chest. "What the?!" the teen would come to gasp himself.
"Sue... It.... OH MY! the teen began to stutter for a moment, squealing excitedly. "IT HATCHED!"

Twily blushed at the two men's surprise at her age. "I suppose I do look young," she said, a little embarrassed. "I try to keep myself young in spirit, so I guess it reflects in my appearance, too."
She looked at Sue in curiousity. "Yeah, I'm a full-blown Ranger," She replied. Then her eyes widened in surprise as the egg strapped to Sue's chest split open, revealing a small Cubchoo.
"Awww, so cuuuute!" she squealed. "It's so small and it's got a baby-face!" she said excitedly.
Meanwhile, Red and Sprite were interested in the small Cubchoo, as well, and floated closer to examine the tiny ice-type pokemon. WORDS ● TAGGED ● NOTES

It hatched! Sue beamed down at the newborn pokemon. “Hehe, he is a little cutie, isn’t he?” He grinned at Twily.
The beautiful moment of new life entering the world was punctuated by the ice type catching a glimpse of the two ghosts. With a gurgling scream of a growl, the cubchoo clawed along Sue until he was able to burrow into the man’s baggy hoodie. He clung to the coordinator, chilling him deeply with how stressed the cub was.
“Whoa, whoa, hey, what’s wrong?” Susanna asked, struggling to unstrap the carrier. It seemed like it was only good for eggs, because the cubchoo had gotten out way too easily. The man sneezed. “Ugh, hey, let’s not use quite that much frost!”
The cubchoo wasn’t inclined to listen. He poked one eye out, saw the ghosts still there, let out another screeching growl of horror, and went right back to hiding in Sue’s hoodie.

LEO XANDER LOCKWARD Leo listened to the younger girl who appeared to be slightly embarrassed at the comments made by the teen and his white haired acquaintance. She acknowledged that she did look young and put it down to keeping herself young in spirit. Leo pondered that thought for a moment before chuckling. "Maybe I'll give that a try!" he spoke softly giving the younger female a smile. "it's awesome that you're a ranger too! You must be proud of achieving that at such a young age?" the teen spoke softly.
Shortly after this, the egg strapped to Sue's chest hatched, the reaction was unanimous between the three humans. Twily was squealing, Sue was beaming like a proud parent and Leo, pretty much on the same level as Twily.
Twily's ghost types were investigating the newborn who clearly was not expecting it as he began to flounder and scream in an attempt to hide from them. Sue seemed to be just as taken aback as he tried to soothe the ice type. Not to much avail by all accounts.
Leo couldn't help but chuckle slightly. "Well I guess most children are afraid of ghosts at some point or another... Seems this little one is no different!" he spoke softly as he approached slowly trying to get a view of the ice type. "Hey little one. There's no need to worry, no ones going to hurt you!" the teen chirped in a soft reassuring tone.
Ember by this point had also wandered over to investigate what all of the commotion was about, but chose to place herself down near the ghost types.
"Well papa bear..." he started as he looked to Sue with a grin on his face. "What are you naming the new baby?" he quizzed the man excitedly.

"I am proud to be a ranger!"She chirped happily."It's a fun job; we get to protect people and pokemon of all sorts!" She looked over at the cubchoo, who was squealing frightenedly at Sprite and Red.
<Err, perhaps back up, you guys? The little one seems frightened of you,> She suggested to her pokemon in ghostly tones.
Red immediately retreated to behind Twily, though still peering curiously at the baby from behind her. Sprite rolled her eyes and floated away from the cubchoo and Sue, going over to a daisy in the grass and sniffing it.
"Perhaps it will like Kofu more?" Twily suggested to Sue, releasing said Swablu into the air. Kofu materialized in mid-air, and looked around upon being released. "Sue's cubchoo just hatched, and seemed scared of Red and Sprite, so I was curious if you would be received in a better light," She explained to Kofu, who nodded in understanding.
Kofu floated over to the wailing Cubchoo and chirped lightly at it, brushing its forehead with one of his wings gently. <It's OK, little one, no one's going to hurt you,> Kofu chirped at it. WORDS ● TAGGED ● NOTES

It was hard to focus with icy little claws digging into him. Leo’s attempts at soothing the cubchoo were appreciated. Susanna smiled apologetically, already getting into the common parent habit of feeling awkward when one’s young acted out in public. He was so caught up in the hub-bub of the baby bear that he almost missed Twily’s words.
Huh. Interesting. He’d ask about that soon. But, for now—
“I’m thinking of naming him ColaAAHH!” Sue shivered, frantically digging around in his pockets for a pokeball. Colder!! Way colder!! The air around the white-haired man chilled.
The cubchoo squealed, but did not flee from the swablu’s approach. Though not as fearful of Kofu as the ghosts, he obviously didn’t trust anyone else there. Maybe that was why he’d stayed in the egg so long? Sue couldn’t be sure of much else.
Pokeball found! Click! The cubchoo was away! Sue frowned, teeth chattering as he considered the pokeball. They’d have to work on that. But, for the moment. “Uh… M-Maybe we’ll try i-introductions again l-later with C-C-Cola, huh?” He exhaled shakily. “Thanks for trying Kofu, Leo.” A full-body tremor ran down Sue’s body.
Yesh. Hopefully he wouldn’t catch a cold from that… He could feel frost inside his hoodie… "W-What, uh, were we talking about? Brr, Twily's ranger career?"

| LEO XANDER LOCKWARD | APP || PC || PLOTTER | WORDS: 292 || TAG: Susanna Rosenbaum Twily Ferngully | Leo listened intently as Twily explained her love for the job she had taken on. Nodding at her reasoning Leo offered the young girl a warm smile. "It certainly does seem a very fulfilling career!" he would come to respond cheerily.
As the newborn cubchoo began to panic Leo observed as Twily began to communicate with the two ghostly pokemon who each responded appropriately in their own ways. One floating back behind Twily and peering out whilst the other seemingly slightly sulking over the command as they drifted over to some daisies and began sniffing them. Leo couldn't help but chuckle slightly, it really was like having children. Sue meanwhile had also began flapping around trying to search for a pokeball to return the cubchoo into.
As Leo made attempts to calm the newborn, Twily had also sent her swablu over to make attempts. Whilst the small cub did not flee from the Swablu, it was apparent that he was still not happy.
Eventually Leo observed as Sue managed to locate a pokeball and store the newborn safely away until later. The air around had certainly chilled, but more so within the direct vicinity of Sue who was shivering uncontrollably whilst he thanked everyone for trying to soothe the cub.
Leo smiled softly and offered the white haired man a nod before looking to Ember. "Ember, do you think you can conjure up a bit of heat to try and warm Sue up?" he asked the fox pokemon who cocked her head slightly before plodding over towards them. Placing herself down in front of Sue, the young Vulpix conjured up a small flame in her mouth and began to fire them off into the air around them trying to heat the air around him. |

Twily glanced at the Cubchoo, smiling at it as Sue put it in a pokeball. "Aww, Cola is an adorable name!" She squealed in appreciation. She looked over at Kofu, who was now floating back over to her.
<I wonder if the Cubchoo will 'warm up', so to speak, to his trainer eventually?> Kofu spoke, doubt coloring his voice. Twily glanced over at Red, who translated Kofu's words for Twily, as Kofu hadn't been with them for long enough for Twily to understand him completely yet.
<I suppose he'll have to eventually gain more trust in Sue,> Twily said in ghostly speech to her pokemon, and Sprite gave a nod that used her whole body, given that she was basically just a scary face on a gaseous ball.
Twily turned to Leo and Sue, realizing a bit late that she may be being a little rude, talking to her pokemon in a way the two other trainers couldn't understand. "Sorry, I was just saying to my pokemon that your cubchoo will eventually gain some trust in you," She said to Sue. Then she turned to Leo. "So, Sue is a Breeder, apparently. What do you do? Or, what is your goal in life?" WORDS ● TAGGED ● NOTES

Salvation!! Sue dropped into an immediate squat, rubbing his hands together greedily before Ember’s flames. “You’re an angel! A saint!” he whined, practically bathing in the warmth she radiated with her fire. “Thank you, Ember!!”
… Augh, now his jacket was soaked. It was warm enough, so it wasn’t like he’d be miserable walking around in just his shirt, but what would be worse? Not having the comfort of an extra layer or going around in a heavy, waterlogged layer… Tough call.
As he warmed up more, Susanna considered correcting Twily. He was a coordinator. But, was it worth arguing about? He decided no, just content to get along with the other two. He could correct them later. Maybe Leo would enjoy introducing himself on his own, so Sue focused on responding to Twily’s comment on her words.
“It’s good,” he assured, finally standing now that he was no longer half-frozen. If Ember allowed, he’d give her a little tickle under the chin as gratitude before continuing to address Twily. He juggled his bag in one arm, sliding off the now useless egg harness. “It’s cool that you can chat with your pokemon! I’ve heard some people can do that, but it’s just too hard for me to make the right sounds…”
Playfully, he stuck out his tongue to emphasize the challenge that sort of linguistic feat could offer. Then, he pulled his damp hoodie off, briefly lifting his shirt to give a glimpse of the scars along his stomach, and stuffed it all back in his bag. The sack was returned to his shoulders after.

| LEO XANDER LOCKWARD | APP || PC || PLOTTER | WORDS: 311 || TAG: Susanna Rosenbaum Twily Ferngully | Leo smiled softly as Twily made comments on the name Sue had given to the newborn. Nodding in agreement he turned back to the white haired man. "Hopefully the little one will warm up soon... So to speak" he commented before letting loose a slight chuckle.
Ember continued sending bursts of fire up in the vicinity of Sue who had seemingly jumped at the opportunity of warming up. Leo could help but let a smug look take hold of us face as he watched the events happen. His idea worked, wasn't often that happened so he had to revel in it.
Ember grumbled happily as the white haired man tickled under her chin, before tilting her head to the side and rubbing her cheek against the man's hand. "Good job Emby!" the dark haired trainer chirped happily at the fox pokemon who responded with a small tip before heading over to the ghost type sniffing the flowers in attempt to play some more.
Leo laughed as Sue explained how it was too difficult to make the right sounds to communicate with his pokemon and the actions that followed. "It's not something I've tried, but can imagine it would be reeeaally difficult." the teen responded finishing in an almost whiney tone.
Turning back to Twily, Leo scratched his head for a moment. "I.... Have just left my home town so currently I... Walk through a field!" he responded with a nervous laugh before clearing his throat. "I mean. I was a singer up until I decided to head out on the road... I guess I could mix the two together. he continued, pondering what his actual objectives may be. "plus there are the gyms... And the pokemon... Jeez I don't really know!" realising he was beginning to ramble the teen stopped speaking and subtly looked to Sue in an attempt to get him to steer the conversation away. |

Twily gave a shrug at the idea of talking to pokemon being difficult. It had once been difficult for her, but was no longer. "I think it was easier for me to learn because I was so young when I started," she replied, shrugging.
Twily listened to Leo speak, turning her head to the side as she contemplated his reply. "I suppose you could always try being a coordinator?" She suggested. "I've heard that Contests are kinda like being an artist of whatever sort. Contests were very much the soul of Sinnoh, if I remember correctly. Everyone loved to see the Coordinators perform."
She eyed Leo, curiousity burning through her. "So, were you a famous singer here in Shula?" she asked. "I've only recently moved to Shula, so I wouldn't know if you were or not," she explained.

Warm-up. Sue couldn’t help but let out a snorting laugh at the pun. As Leo and Twily chatted, Susanna thought about Twilight’s comment about starting young. That’s right… A lot of languages had a prime learning period. The tongue needed to learn to form the sounds. Darn. Was he too old for that now? He’d never thought of himself as old, being only in his twenties.
“Contests are totally an art!” Susanna added. Then, he chuckled. “Though, if you take on contests, Leo, we’ll be rivals again!” Actually, what Twilight had said, about remembering contests correctly… Had she never participated in that? That had been one of his highlights back when he’d visited Sinnoh.
“Wait, are you not into the contest scene?” he asked the youth, blinking at her in confusion. “Seriously? Not even for Fantina? She’s amazing.”
Her bombastic, larger than life personality… The dramatic, ever opulent manner she presented herself… The eerie, macabre energy of her spooky ghost companions. It was almost perfect in Sue’s opinion. He knew what could improve it, from his perspective… But, he also knew the average viewer didn’t share his sensibilities.

| LEO XANDER LOCKWARD | APP || PC || PLOTTER | WORDS: 222 || TAG: Twily Ferngully Susanna Rosenbaum | Leo couldn't help but let loose a sheepish laugh in response to Sue's whilst scratching the back of his head. Thankfully Twily piped up in response to her being able to speak to pokemon. She wasn't wrong, the younger a person is, the easier it is to pick up other languages, but who's to say it was impossible now?
As the conversation shifted towards pokemon contests and coordinators Leo paused. Sue seemed to perk up slightly at the discussion. "Well I can't say it is something I've ever really thought about." the teen mumbled as he continued to listen to the pair speaking.
"Rivals again? We were rivals?" the teen smirked at the white haired male before poking his tongue out playfully. "Who knew?" a blue eyed wink followed.
Twily's question made Leo blush slightly. "I wouldn't say famous... It was just... Something I did locally, it never really took off on a massive scale" the teen explained before letting loose a sigh. That was the dream once upon a time, but it was incredibly difficult to break through in that industry. Nevertheless, he still enjoyed it and nothing would stop that.
"So, where are you guys headed to next?" the teen asked trying to figure out whether they were headed in the same direction or were due to part ways in the not so distant future. |

Twily shrugged at Sue's enthusiasm. "I mean, her ghost-type companions are awesome, don't get me wrong, but I never saw the point in contests," Twily admitted. "I don't like being paraded around like a showponyta. Honestly, it has to do with my parents... they expected things from me I wasn't capable of, and that really put a damper on things for me." She closed her eyes, remembering how her younger brother constantly overshadowed her because of his connection to psychic pokemon... Something she had never had. She connected with ghosts; the opposite of psychics, and honestly, the scariest of pokemon, if her parents were to be believed.
She opened her eyes, mortified that she had revealed so much to her companions. "Uhhh, anyway!" She hurriedly tried to change the subject. "I'm headed to Mossrock City after this," She informed Leo. "I've got an egg waiting for me there." She said. "I ordered it from Sinnoh, actually. It's a forme that hasn't been seen in many years... They're re-emerging more and more, apparently," she informed the two men.

The former officer clutched his chest, playing much more hurt than he actually was by Leo’s playful slight. “Seriously?! Even after our battle, you won’t acknowledge me?!”
… Oh, this was rather nice, actually. Sue had been quite worried that once he no longer had the camaraderie of the uniform to help bond him to people, he might have trouble making new friends. He and Leo seemed to be getting along well enough. Joking around meant people were friends, right? Right?
Though, whatever nervous excitement had been brewing in Susanna was cooled down to a polite smile as Twily spoke. That’s right. His views on art were not to everyone’s tastes, even with something as mainstream as a contest. He swallowed down his genuine opinions as always and said what he thought might help things go smoothly.
“Ah, that makes sense… Sounds difficult. But, hey, you’re grown now! You can do whatever you want! Including getting that egg from Mossrock City!” The man winked and gave Twily a wicked set of double finger guns to really sell the encouragement.
“I’m headed to catch a ferry in Seabreeze, myself.” He laughed, keeping his intentions vague.

Important Info
Season
Good news, Autumn is here! The sticky heat of the summer is finally gone, but the bad news? Its gotten very cold very fast. Berrys have fallen early from their perches, fruit and food is getting caught in snap frosts and icy mornings and this is leading to very cold mornings, pokemon getting desprate quickly and dark and chilly evenings
Next season change ~ May 20th
Swarming Pokemon!
Encouraged Characters
Currently, our character numbers are pretty even, so aside from us gently encouraging more civilians and breeders...go nuts!
Numbers of Gijinka on site have dropped, too, so they're open to be applied for at the moment- though, if you're interested, go check out the adoptable threads for many wanted ones! They could always use players! ;-)
