She could do this.

Aries wanted to see him again, to see his pokemon and spend time with them. She wanted to train, against someone the group knew and pokemon where she knew she could both try her hardest but she would not hurt someone if she did get in to more of a fight. The lamb pokemon was skittering around the outside of the cafe, pacing back and forth looking for the other trainer.

Hallie was currently considering if she should throw her drink at Leo first, or stab him with a fork before she tried to jump on him and begin to pummel him. Though thought caught the girl, making her cup pause in front of her mouth as she sucked in a breath. "He didnt know any better, he was the single party" she repeated in a dead voice, seemingly having done this several times already.

Leo Xander Lockward 

It was nice to have use of both legs again. Granted, Leo was still a little shaky given how long he had been on the crutches, but it was great not to be relying on the metal supports any longer.

He had to admit, it was a little surprising receiving a request from Hallie to meet up. Arceus knows how that was going to go given everything that had happened over the past few months. But, the last time they met, she seemed nice enough, he wasn't going to hide away from anything any longer.

Making his way to Glacierpeak, the teen together with Angel, Ember and Chespy walked swiftly towards the café.

Pushing the door open, the teen scanned the room for a moment before his blue eyes fell upon the young girl.

Hallie Ashley Narina

Hallie saw him first, the girl shifted her weight and for a moment, found herself pausing. Her feet shifted over the ground and she looked down, noticing for that moment how much she had grown in the past year before she lifted her head, aries now trotting off towards the other trainer with her head held high and her eyes bright and excited. The male spoke first, hallie nodding her head to him with cold eyes as she lifted her coffee up again, sipping at it.

"Mr Leo! Nimi says you are real fun, and Sunny said yous smarts too, all caring about pokemon and stuffs! I need battles! I wanna be like Terra and Maya, i wanna have lil fluffers too, and i need help to battle to do that! I wanna be able to protect my herd, like everyone else!" the female rattled off, clearly a prepared speech in there somewhere which quickly died away. Hallie for her part kept quiet, though nodded to the vulpix beside the male and broke her stern appearance for a moment, waving to the fox with a warmer smile.

Leo Xander Lockward 

Leo stopped to observe the younger female for a moment, noticing her cold stare when he attempted to greet her. Well it was warranted, nevertheless, the teen let loose a sigh. "It's nice to see you've recovered from that Sinistea incident..." he spoke softly, offering a warm smile before the wooloo trotted over to him.

"Oh! Hi there!" the teen chirped excitedly, lowering himself to greet the pokemon. Ember for her part trotted over to Hallie to greet her. One of the first people she met after starting their journey. Save for Sue of course.

Angel approached Leo and Aries, eyeing the pokemon for a moment as he listened to her speech, before translating it for Leo. Swapping his sights between Angel, Aries and Hallie the teen chuckled. "Nimi may have been overestimating me, but I certainly do care about pokemon!" he spoke softly before taking a breath. "Perhaps we can look at a battle in a short while. It feels like Hallie and I need to have a chat!"

In a moment, two conversations began. Hallie set down her cup on the table in front of her, the metal of it clinking against the ceramic and making her smirk a little. "I was out of sorts for a day or two, like a really nasty tummy bug, and then a bit dizzy when i moved too fast for the rest of the week but it passed with a few big meals and long rests" she answered, not sure why she explained so much or gave him so much to work with but the words were out there now.

Aries for her part pouted at the males words, shaking her head as Hallie leaned down to Ember, reaching out for her to stroke the top of the females head. "I hope you've been well, he's not getting you in to any more trouble" she whispered softly as Aries huffed up at leo, trying to draw his focus. "But, they told me you'd help. I dont wanna wait, i wanna be a grown up now!" the female replied, looking from leo to Angel and then back again.

"Lil help?" she asked the dragon type as leo spoke again, Hallie looking to the seat beside herself and clearly tempted to lean down and scoop up the fire type from the way she moved for a moment before she stopped. "He didnt know any better, he was the single party" she muttered again under her breath, nodding to the other trainer and then to the seat beside her. "Need a drink?" she found herself asking, not sure why she had done so seconds later..

Leo smiled weakly as Hallie explained her symptoms at the time. It was a relief that she had recovered though. "I'm glad. But you know. You really shouldn't be So reckless, you could have ended up really hurt!" the teen began to lecture the female before catching himself. "Sorry..." he mumbled.

Ember leaned in to the head rubs that came from Hallie before looking to her as she spoke. "Oh no. No more trouble here! I'm good! How are you and the others?" she responded as her tails began to wag excitedly.

Aries however continued to insist on a battle, nagging at Leo for a moment before turning to Angel to ask for assistance. The dragon type chuckled for a moment. "I'm happy to train with you! I know Leelee would be more than happy to as well. I think there are some.... Things... That the two need to clear up though." he explained trying to settle the pokemon down for a moment.

Ember tilted her head slightly, listening to Hallie mumble something under her breath before attempting to jump up to check on her. "Hey, why so gloomy?" the fire type questioned.

When it came to the offer of a drink to Leo, the teen paused for a moment. "Erm. Sure. I can get it if you like?"

Hallie raised an eyebrow as Leo spoke, words dropping from her mouth before she could stop them. "Jeez, alright dad, i get the point. Dont be like you were" hung there for a moment, the breeders face reddening for a few seconds before she coughed and focused on the vulpix. It wasnt a species she was ideal in, not owning one herself, but her uncle had one when she was a child and later a ninetales so she had about the most of the females comments.

"Well ensure he keeps you out of trouble, even if he lands in it" she replied to the female, smiling a little wider as the female leaned in to her. "We are doing well. Peef is getting pretty excited about training and battles and Nimi and Meadow are happy to encourage that. Sunburst keeps teaching him tactics and their parents are so excited to see all of them so happy together" she answered, sighing a little as the female spoke again.

"I er, well." she started, her head turning to find Aries nudging the dragon type with her forehead. "So, we can battle? Let the humans talk, they can go ahead and be all boring and stuff, we can battle and then have coffee after!" the normal type was offering, nudging at the male as playfully as a pokemon without fingers could do.

"Sure, go grab something, i'll wait" the breeder answered leo, reaching for the fire type now it seemed she was receptive and trying to pick her up enough to settle the vulpine on her lap. "My brother, Mikey, hes taking some first steps in life, literally and in other ways and it got me thinking about his birth. I took Mr Raine with me, and as of late, ive found out what happened there" the female admitted to the fire type, waiting until hopefully, leo couldn't hear her.

Leo froze as the young girl bit back at his lecture. "Sorry. I didn't mean it to come out like that... It was brave of you to do it, I was just really worried afterwards is all..." he explained softly, raising a hand to scratch the back of his head as Ember stepped in, easing the tension slightly.

The fox pokemon chuckled slightly as Hallie told her to make sure Leo didn't get her in to any trouble. "Don't worry, I'll keep him in check!" she responded cheerily before the girl began to speak of the group she had met in the forest. She smiled widely listening to the story being told. It was great to hear that they were all doing so well!

Angel huffed softly as Aries continued to pester him in to a battle. "Alriiiight!" the dragon whined turning back to face the sheep. "Let's step away from here so we don't hurt anybody." he spoke bluntly, nodding towards an open space. 

Back to the humans, Leo smiled softly before heading to the counter to order a hot chocolate. As he waited he could hear Hallie speaking to the fire type, and the name... His name. Sighing heavily, as the cup was placed in front of him, he picked it up and made his way back.

"I didn't catch everything but I heard his name. I guess you heard as well?" the teen asked, shifting his gaze away for a moment. "Not sure why I'm surprised, everyone knows really...."

Hallie rolled her eyes at leos words, she had heard plently of the same from her own family when she had told them about the run in with the ghost, and even more the second time she called and they had a little more context for what it had been, she didnt need to hear it all again. Instead she focused on the fire type, stroking her until leos words drifted over her shoulder. "We were close, used to be very close, i was never not going to know" she replied, her voice turning cold again as she replied to the other trainer and her eyes refusing to raise to meet his.

Aries for her part grinned at the other pokemon, shifting in to her best attempt at a play bow like Travis before she glanced around the street. "Ok, so we need room, and....oh right" she said as she snapped her head around, turning back to hallie for a second. "We are going to...play in the snow" the lamb lied, turning back to the dragon type and then running off up the street, she had seen a plaza here as they had walked through to the cafe, that would work!

Leo felt the coldness emitting from Hallie as she responded to his comments regarding Akira. Ember, whilst enjoying the strokes from the girl shifted her eyes awkwardly between the two trainers.

"That's fair..." the teen mumbled shifting his eyes to his drink, before raising it to his lips and taking a sip. "I guess you have questions then...?" he asked, almost devoid of any feeling. He had to front this, but it wasn't going to be an easy task, that was for sure.

Angel laughed as Aries bowed before turning to her trainer to explain what they were planning and then running off. Angel quickly shot a glance to Leo before dashing after Aries. "Going to train Leelee. Back soon!" he called back following after the wooloo to the plaza ahead of them.

"Okay, so I guess... Ladies first?"

Aries wasted no time, trotting around the corner and checking out the area she had seen before. There were some benches here, and a viewing area if someone kept going up and around on one of the paths but it would do, and there werent too many people. As Angel caught up, the normal type had finished her investigation and nodded to the male. She grinned at his comment, quickly flexing out her hooves before she curled her head in to herself and then twisted herself around like she had been working on, hoping to throw out at a hoof at the male.

Hallie for her part, settled her cup down on the metal table and turned her head away from leo as he spoke, watching the pair of pokemon move away. She should send someone with them, she should ensure they were being safe but right now, she both wanted to dive at leo and cover him in her coffee and break down in tears and ask him what happened.

The conflict didnt do much, only making the girl grip her cup tighter as he spoke before she slowly turned her head to him, focusing instead on Ember in her lap. Every three strokes, she would take in a breath, then stroke again and then let it out. On the 3rd practise of this, she found words slipping out again. "So what happened? Because ive heard a lot of versions of the story" she asked, her tone quiet and matter of fact, not her normal curious edge.

Leo Xander Lockward 

Angel took a moment to catch up with the normal type. Watching her grin, the dragon readied himself for battle, as Aries instantly flew towards him, the hoof colliding with him knocking him back slightly. The attack would of course have also impacted the wooloo due to the rough skin he had. Smirking slightly despite the pain of the stomp, Angel leered at his opponent for a moment. "Nicely done. But let's really get things going shall we?" he spoke before building a small burst of energy and releasing it towards his opponent.

Back at the Café, tensions were beginning to rise as Hallie continued stroking Ember. It seemed to have become a way to keep herself focused on the matters at hand. Leo briefly watched as the two pokemon skittered off for their sparring match before turning his attention back to the girl.

As she spoke, the teen felt his heart sink a little. He didn't really want to have such a conversation with someone as young as Hallie, but she was mature enough it seemed.

Taking a breath the teen's eyes shifted to the ground for a moment. "It's... Difficult to explain really." he started. It was true after all, there was no intention of such things happening.

"We met while Ember and I were at the Zoo. He offered to take me on a tour of the place, so Ember and his Vulpix went to the daycare as we went around the zoo." Leo paused to take a sip of his drink and take a breath for a moment.

"He was just... So nice... I had never met anyone like that before. It started out has just harmless banter, but by the time he had told me about his marriage... It was like there was a cloud over me..." he sighed, a sad look in his eye as he turned away again slightly. "We ended up kissing, but... That was it. We both knew we had screwed up... I -" he stopped again, feeling his eyes welling up, he took a moment to blink back the tears and catch his breath. "I don't know what led me to do it, and I kick myself everyday for it..."

Ember looked to her trainer for a moment, sighing softly before looking up at Hallie. "He's an idiot for sure, but he isn't a bad guy. He wants to make things right, he just... Doesn't know how."

Aries grinned as she felt an impact against her hoof, though moments later, she felt it begin to sting and she uncurled herself and looked down only to find it scuffed. What the heck? That wasnt meant to happen! Looking down at herself, the female was not paying attention to the leer which came, but the dragon rage was much harder to ignore.

It slammed in to the side of the wooly pokemon, throwing her off her hooves and sending her rolling backwards, her eyes a little out of focus as she came to a stop. She collected herself with a few huff, shaking her head and slowly standing up, looking over to the male again. "You are good at this" she called over, smiling as she tucked herself in once more and tried to roll forwards and pull the same trick again.

Hallie for her part remained quiet, looking at the male as he spoke. She nodded, fully knowing Akira's job and how he tended to treat her when she came to this work place, but she allowed leo to go on. She didnt respond to him, letting him go on, pause, go on and then finally fade out. As ember spoke, the breeder looked down to her, the same cold eyes now settling on her as she spoke, before she turned her head back to leo.

Her face was blank, she had lost the ability to show emotion in the moment as a series of them fought in her chest. She could not allow one to win, she didnt know what would happen if they did, and it left her acting like a shell of a human. "So, you knew about loga....Mr Kaitos?" she questioned simply, her tone hallow as the question fell from her.

Watching as the puzzled look washed over Aries' face, Angel smirked not phased by the fact that his Leer didn't bother his opponent. After all, the main attack worked.

He returned the woolly Pokemon's smile with a smile of his own, nodding at the compliment she had given him. "Thanks!" he called over before he watched her tuck her head down once again. Shaking his head slightly, the dragon jumped aside to avoid the oncoming hoof. He wasn't about to fall for the same trick twice in a row after all.

Taking his chance, Angel leapt forward, claws at the ready to try and scratch at his opponent.

Leo fell silent after he explained himself, noticing Ember trying to speak with Hallie who had now become even more blank, as her eyes turned back to him. He caught her eyes for a moment before looking away again.

Then she asked the important question. Did he know about Logan. Keeping quiet for a moment the teen looked back to the young girl before nodding. "Not at first. But eventually..." he mumbled. It was clear from his face that he was ashamed, but he also understood the anger the young girl would feel towards him.

Her attack, it missed this time! The normal type smiled as she caught the dragon replying to her, taking a few moments to come to a stop in her movements and right herself before she shook her head, trying to remove all the dizzy and the shaking from her eyes. Why didnt it work, it worked last time fine.

Maybe that was it though, the male seemed to be doing something different when he attacked this time, the female quickly tucking her hooves up and shifting to one side with a half hop and half roll, so should she be doing that too? She curled herself in on herself, sure that protecting herself again wasn't a bad idea but also, maybe she needed a new attack plan, like him. Taking the thought and running with it, literally, the lamb pokemon began to rush forwards with her head down this time around

Hallie swallowed a breath, not noticing it seemed to stick in her throat and swell there as she listened to leo speak, barely. She reached forwards, taking her coffee in hand again, allowing his words to wait in the air for them as she tried to sip at her drink and remove the pain in her chest.

"At first, so you didnt know about him, when you chose to...when you both....when...." the breeder said, her tone attempting to be the same cold and calm one it had been before as she reached to set the drink down, only it faltered as she hit the saucer below the cup a little too hard and her hand began to shake. Again the words died as she tried to say them, ending in the girl giving up after her voice died once more.
